Abstract
Description
The present disclosure relates to a control device that controls an engine with a turbocharger.
As an engine with a turbocharger, Patent Document 1 discloses that an exhaust passage is partly divided into two independent passages, and one of the two passages is exhausted by changing the flow passage area. An engine having a configuration provided with a flow path adjusting unit (exhaust cut valve) for adjusting the flow rate of the engine is disclosed. In this engine, in the operating state of the engine with a low exhaust flow rate, the flow rate adjustment unit is closed to increase the exhaust flow rate to ensure the required supercharging effect. In the operating state of the engine with a high exhaust flow rate, the flow rate adjustment is performed. By opening the section and supplying exhaust gas from both passages to the turbine, a reduction in engine output due to an increase in exhaust pressure is prevented.
By the way, the catalytic converter for purifying harmful components in the exhaust gas provided downstream of the turbine in the exhaust passage must activate the catalyst held therein in order to sufficiently perform its purifying function. When the temperature of the catalyst is low, it is necessary to increase the temperature of the catalyst to the activation temperature. For this purpose, it is desirable to flow as much exhaust gas as possible through the exhaust passage and to quickly raise the temperature of the catalyst by the exhaust heat.
However, in Patent Document 1, in a situation where the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust passage is small, the flow rate adjustment unit is closed, so that the flow resistance in the exhaust passage increases and the exhaust pressure upstream of the flow rate adjustment unit increases. Exhaust gas is less likely to be discharged from the engine body to the exhaust passage. If this happens, the exhaust gas flowing to the catalytic converter will be suppressed even though the engine is in an operating state where the amount of exhaust gas is small, so it is necessary to quickly increase the catalyst temperature, such as when the engine is cold started. In this case, the temperature rise of the catalyst in the catalytic converter due to the exhaust heat is delayed.
The technology of the present disclosure has been made in view of such a point, and an object thereof is to quickly raise the temperature of a catalyst in a catalytic converter to an activation temperature in an engine having a flow rate adjusting unit. It is in.
In order to achieve the above object, according to the technology of the present disclosure, the state of the exhaust flow path does not hinder the exhaust emission from the engine body to the exhaust passage and reduces the loss of exhaust heat to the catalytic converter. To control.
Specifically, the technology of the present disclosure includes a turbocharger having a turbine provided in an exhaust passage through which exhaust discharged from an engine body flows, and a catalytic converter provided on the downstream side of the turbine in the exhaust passage. A bypass passage for bypassing the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust passage to the upstream side of the catalytic converter, a waste gate valve for adjusting a flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the bypass passage, and an upstream side of the turbine in the exhaust passage. The present invention is directed to a control device that controls an engine that includes a flow rate adjustment unit that adjusts the flow rate of exhaust gas by changing the flow passage area of the exhaust passage. The engine control device includes a temperature increase control unit that executes a temperature increase process for increasing the temperature of the catalyst in the catalytic converter. The temperature increase control unit determines whether or not the temperature increase of the catalyst is necessary based on whether or not a predetermined temperature increase condition is satisfied, and determines that the temperature increase of the catalyst is necessary before executing the temperature increase process. The waste flow control unit is controlled to increase the flow passage area of the exhaust passage, and the waste gate valve is controlled to increase the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the bypass passage.
According to this configuration, since the flow rate adjusting unit is controlled to increase the flow passage area of the exhaust passage in order to raise the temperature of the catalyst in the catalytic converter, the flow passage resistance in the exhaust passage is reduced, which is lower than that of the flow rate adjusting unit. There is no increase in exhaust pressure upstream. Thereby, exhaust of the exhaust gas from the engine body to the exhaust passage can be promoted. Further, the waste gate valve is controlled so as to increase the flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the bypass passage in addition to increasing the flow passage area of the exhaust passage by the flow velocity adjusting unit, so that the exhaust gas discharged from the engine body to the exhaust passage Of these, the amount flowing into the catalytic converter without going through the turbine increases. As a result, the amount of exhaust heat lost to the turbine, that is, loss of exhaust heat up to the catalytic converter, can be reduced, and the exhaust temperature can be suppressed from decreasing on the upstream side of the catalytic converter in the exhaust passage. According to the operation control of the flow rate adjusting unit and the waste gate valve, as much exhaust heat as possible can be applied to the catalyst in the catalytic converter, and the temperature of the catalyst can be quickly raised to the activation temperature.
The temperature increase control unit determines whether the output torque required for the engine is less than a predetermined magnitude, determines that the output torque is less than a predetermined magnitude, and the predetermined temperature rise condition is When it is established, it is preferable to execute the temperature raising process.
When the temperature raising process of the catalyst is executed, the flow rate of exhaust gas passing through the turbine decreases, so that the dynamic pressure acting on the turbine decreases, the driving force of the turbocharger decreases, and the supercharging pressure decreases. In particular, when the waste gate valve is controlled so that the entire amount of exhaust flows through the bypass passage in the temperature raising process, the dynamic pressure associated with the exhaust does not act on the turbine, and the turbocharger does not operate. Therefore, the temperature increase process of the catalyst by the temperature increase control unit may be accompanied by a loss of supercharging pressure.
However, when the output torque required for the engine is less than a predetermined magnitude, that is, when the output torque is relatively low, the supercharging pressure required to realize the output torque is small. According to the above configuration, since the catalyst temperature raising process is executed when the required supercharging pressure is small, the operability is impaired due to the loss of the supercharging pressure accompanying the execution of the temperature raising process. Can be prevented.
Furthermore, it is preferable that the temperature increase control unit determines that the output torque required for the engine is less than a predetermined magnitude when the engine is in an idle operation state. Further, it is preferable that the temperature increase control unit determines that the output torque required for the engine is less than a predetermined magnitude when the vehicle speed is equal to or lower than a predetermined speed, for example, when the vehicle speed is zero.
When the engine is idling or when the vehicle speed is zero, there is no request for supercharging pressure. According to the above configuration, since the catalyst temperature raising process is executed when there is no request for the supercharging pressure in this way, the operability is impaired due to the loss of the supercharging pressure accompanying the execution of the temperature raising process. It can be prevented even more.
Further, it is preferable that the temperature increase control unit performs scavenging by overlapping a period for opening the intake port of the engine body and a period for opening the exhaust port of the engine body during execution of the temperature increase process.
According to this configuration, air that has flowed into the cylinder of the engine body from the intake passage during the overlap period in which both the intake port and the exhaust port are open blows into the exhaust passage, thereby remaining burned in the cylinder of the engine body. As the gas is pushed out into the exhaust passage, the amount of fresh air filled in the cylinder increases, and the efficiency of filling fresh air into the cylinder is increased. When such scavenging is executed when the flow passage area is reduced by the flow rate control unit, the exhaust pressure on the upstream side of the flow rate adjustment unit in the exhaust passage becomes higher, so the scavenging amount is reduced.
On the other hand, according to the above configuration, scavenging is performed when the catalyst temperature raising process is executed, that is, when the flow area is increased by the flow rate adjustment unit, so the scavenging amount is increased and the exhaust gas flow rate is increased. Can be made. Furthermore, since the efficiency of charging fresh air into the cylinder is enhanced by the scavenging action, the flow rate of exhaust gas discharged from the engine body after scavenging can be increased. As a result, as much exhaust gas as possible can flow through the exhaust passage to increase the exhaust heat applied to the catalyst in the catalytic converter.
According to the engine control apparatus of the present disclosure, the temperature of the catalyst in the catalytic converter can be increased to the activation temperature at an early stage in the engine including the flow rate adjusting unit.

<Engine output torque control>

The torque base control by the
In the torque base control, as shown in FIG. 4, first, in step ST001, the
In the next step ST002, the
In subsequent step ST003, the
Next, in step ST004 to be performed, the
After step ST004, steps ST005 to ST008 and steps ST009 to ST011 are performed in parallel.
In step ST005, the
In step ST006, the
In the subsequent step ST007, the
In step ST008, the
In step ST009, the
In the subsequent step ST010, the

<Catalyst temperature rise treatment>
The temperature
The temperature increasing process for the
First, in step ST101, the temperature
The “idle operation state” here means that the accelerator opening detected by the accelerator sensor 113 is zero, that is, the accelerator pedal is not depressed, and the rotational speed of the
In step ST101, when it is determined that the engine 1 is not in the idling operation state or the vehicle speed is not zero (0 km / h), there may be a request for the supercharging pressure corresponding to the required output torque. In this case, the process proceeds to step ST102. Further, when it is determined that the engine 1 is in the idling operation state and the vehicle speed is zero (0 km / h), there is no required output torque, and therefore no supercharging pressure is required. In this case, the process proceeds to step ST105.
In step ST102, the
In step ST103, the
In step ST104, the
Step ST105 is a step of determining whether or not it is necessary to raise the temperature of the
The actual charging efficiency is calculated based on the intake air flow rate and the intake air temperature detected by the
By adjusting the opening / closing timing of the
In this step ST105, when the exhaust gas flow rate is less than a predetermined amount (15 g / s), it is estimated that the
In step ST <b> 106, the temperature
Therefore, according to the temperature raising process of the
Further, the temperature
In this way, when scavenging is performed during the temperature raising process of the
When the temperature raising process for the
As mentioned above, although the said embodiment was described as an illustration of the technique disclosed by this specification, the technical scope of this indication is not limited to this. The technology of the present disclosure can also be applied to embodiments in which the components and processing processes of the above-described embodiments are appropriately changed, replaced, added, omitted, and various modifications are possible. Those skilled in the art will understand that such modifications also belong to the technical scope of the present disclosure. In addition, among the components described in the attached drawings and the detailed description, not only the components essential for solving the problem but also the components not essential for solving the problem in order to illustrate the technology of the present disclosure. Elements can also be included. Therefore, it should not be immediately recognized that these non-essential components are essential as those non-essential components are described in the accompanying drawings and detailed description.
For example, in the above embodiment, when the operation state of the engine 1 is an idle operation state and the vehicle speed is zero, it is determined that the required output torque is less than a predetermined magnitude. The required output torque is determined to be less than the predetermined magnitude even when the engine 1 is in the idling operation state and the vehicle speed is less than the predetermined speed due to a creep phenomenon in which the vehicle moves without depressing the accelerator pedal. Alternatively, it may be determined by other methods and means that the required output torque is not required for the supercharging pressure or that the required supercharging pressure is in a relatively small range.
In the above embodiment, it is determined whether the temperature of the
