Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an LED mounting module in which an LED element is mounted as a light source and an LED display device using the same.
In recent years, various LED information display devices such as a dot matrix display device that displays information such as desired characters and symbols by selectively emitting LED elements mounted in a matrix form are rapidly spreading (patents). Reference 1). Such LED information display devices are also spreading as traffic information display devices on highways, for example.
In a dot matrix type LED display device, a black light shielding layer is usually disposed above the light emitting surface side of the light emitted from the LED elements to shield the light leaving holes formed in accordance with the arrangement of the LED elements. ing. The light-shielding layer blackens the periphery of the LED element, which is a light emitter, thereby improving the substantial luminance of the light emitter during lighting, and further, the luminance between the lighting time and the dark luminance when not lighted. It is arranged for the purpose of increasing the difference and improving the contrast in the screen display of the LED display device.
As for the size of the light transmitting hole formed in the light shielding layer, if the brightness of display information is simply increased, the aperture diameter should be increased in order to maximize the utilization efficiency of the light emitted from the LED element. Is preferred. However, it has been empirically known that if the opening diameter is enlarged beyond a certain size, the contrast of the displayed characters is lowered and the visibility is deteriorated.
On the other hand, if the aperture diameter is narrowed down in order to improve the contrast, when the aperture diameter becomes too small beyond a certain limit, the amount of light is insufficient and the alignment with the LED element is reduced. There is also a demerit that the difficulty of work increases and productivity decreases.
In order to improve the display quality of information in the dot matrix type LED display device, in order to define the opening diameter of the light shielding layer arranged on the light emitting surface, the size of the LED element, the light emission mode, and the distance between the LED elements Therefore, it is necessary to perform a complicated calculation that incorporates various conditions such as the mounting pitch and the distance to the light shielding layer, and it is necessary to perform the complicated calculation again every time the specifications of the display device change.
The present invention provides an LED display device having excellent visibility by optimizing the aperture diameter of the light shielding layer arranged for the purpose of improving visibility, and a simple and practical process for optimizing the aperture diameter. By adopting it, it aims at providing under high productivity.
The present inventors pay attention to the distribution of the relative light intensity at the horizontal position on the surface of the light shielding layer, the size of the light transmitting hole formed in the light shielding layer, grasp this distribution, and By defining and forming the size of the light-transmitting hole based on the idea of shielding light whose intensity has not reached a predetermined relative value, an LED display device having excellent visibility of display information is configured. The present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and can be implemented with appropriate modifications within the scope of the object of the present invention.
<LED mounting module>
[overall structure]
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the
The
As shown in FIG. 2, the
[Support substrate]
The supporting
Preferred examples of the resin material for the flexible substrate include polyimide (PI), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), amorphous polyarylate, polysulfone, polyethersulfone, polyphenylene sulfide, polyetheretherketone, polyetherimide, and fluororesin. And liquid crystal polymers. Among these, polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) whose heat resistance and dimensional stability are improved by performing a heat resistance improvement treatment such as an annealing treatment can be particularly preferably used. In addition, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) whose flame retardancy is improved by addition of a flame retardant inorganic filler or the like can also be selected as a material resin for the resin base. As described above, the
The arrangement of the metal wiring portion formed on the
[Shading layer]
As long as the
The
As the light shielding
When the
When the
When the
As shown in FIG. 5, when the
On the other hand, when the
The
As the ink for forming the black layer serving as the
About the color of the black layer which comprises the
Various conventionally known pigments can be widely used as the black or dark pigment contained in the black layer constituting the
In the
Examples of near-infrared transmitting pigments that can be preferably used include oxazine pigments, benzimidazolone pigments, pyrrole pigments, quinacridone pigments, azo pigments, perylene pigments, dioxane pigments, and isoindolinone pigments. Examples thereof include organic pigments such as pigments, indanthrene pigments, quinophthalone pigments, perinone pigments, and phthalocyanine pigments, or mixtures of these organic pigments.
As the oxazine-based organic pigment, for example, violet 23 (molecular weight 589), CI direct violet 37 (molecular weight: 789), or a dioxazine-based compound described in JP-A-2003-105217 can be used. . Oxazine-based organic pigments have high UV resistance and can be particularly preferably used, for example, when the
Among the pigments, a pigment comprising a benzimidazolone pigment and a phthalocyanine pigment is particularly preferable. By using a benzimidazolone pigment and a phthalocyanine pigment, a resin layer having a sufficient concealing property can be obtained even when the thickness of the adhesive layer is reduced. Furthermore, when the benzimidazolone pigment and the phthalocyanine pigment are contained in the urethane, polycarbonate, or epoxy adhesive layer, the adhesive layer has the same adhesiveness as the adhesive layer containing the oxazine pigment. can do.

Next, the size of the
The
In the
A procedure for determining a range of light to be transmitted through the light transmission hole without being shielded by the
On the premise of the horizontal distribution of the light intensity on a predetermined horizontal plane, in the
Specifically, the maximum value of the intensity of light to be shielded which is a reference value for defining the size of the
(Measurement method of light intensity)
Here, a method for measuring the light intensity will be described. Regarding the light intensity, the horizontal distribution of the light intensity is measured by the following method on the horizontal plane at a predetermined distance d from the light emitting surface at the upper part of the LED element to be mounted. For this purpose, first, the light intensity (cd / m 2 ) (“reference light intensity (cd)” at the position where light having an emission angle of 0 ° on the horizontal plane reaches (referred to as “reference position”). / M 2 ) ”). Next, the same measurement method is used to measure the light intensity at a position where light having an arbitrary emission angle larger than 0 ° reaches while sequentially increasing the distance from the reference position. A position where the relative value (%) falls to a predetermined value when the light intensity (cd / m 2 ) at the position where the light with the emission angle of 0 °
Here, as the

The test module was turned on, and the light intensity distribution in the horizontal direction of the light emitted radially from the LED element surface was measured by the “light intensity measurement method” described in paragraph 0059. BM-7 (made by TOPCON) was used as a measuring instrument.
As described above, the light intensity at the reference position where the light having the emission angle of 0 ° reaches is “reference light intensity (cd / m 2 ), and the light intensity at each measurement position away from the reference position is the reference light intensity. Table 1 shows the results calculated as a relative value (%) to the strength.
