Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a connector that is conductively connected to a pin-shaped terminal of a mating connector that is a connection target member.
A connector having a floating mechanism that can absorb a displacement at the time of connection of a connection target member and a displacement after the connection is known (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2007-18785). This connector generally includes a fixed housing to be mounted on a board, a movable housing fitted to a mating connector, and a terminal having a movable piece that is fixed to the fixed housing and the movable housing and connects them.
The connector is excellent in that it can absorb displacement and displacement by a floating mechanism. However, since the fixed housing and the movable housing are provided, the size of the entire connector becomes larger than the connector without the floating mechanism, and the circuit board mounting area and the space around the circuit board are limited by downsizing the connector. There are many requests to make effective use of.
The present invention has been made against the background of the above-described conventional technology, and its purpose is to reduce the size of a connector having a floating mechanism that absorbs a displacement at the time of connection of a connection target member and a displacement after the connection. .
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention is configured as follows.
The present invention relates to a connector including a terminal that is in conductive contact with a pin-shaped terminal to be connected, and a housing having a fitting chamber that is conductively contacted with the pin-shaped terminal, the terminal being in contact with the pin-shaped terminal. And a movable spring portion that elastically supports the contact portion in a displaceable manner inside the fitting chamber, and the contact portion elastically supports the movable spring portion independently for each terminal. And is displaceable.
The present invention proposes a connector having a floating mechanism in which a terminal is not provided with a plurality of housings such as a fixed housing and a movable housing of a conventional connector. That is, the terminal included in the connector of the present invention includes the contact portion that contacts the pin-shaped terminal to be connected, and a movable spring portion that elastically supports the contact portion so as to be displaceable inside the fitting chamber. That is, when the contact portion is displaced inside the fitting chamber, it is possible to absorb the displacement at the time of connecting the pin-shaped terminals and the displacement after the connection. According to the present invention, the conventional connector including a floating mechanism for relatively displacing the fixed housing and the movable housing can be reduced in size by such a terminal floating mechanism.
In the present invention, the contact portion is elastically supported by the movable spring portion and can be displaced independently for each terminal. According to this, the contact part is elastically supported by the movable spring part independently for each terminal, and can be individually displaced or not displaced. Therefore, the displacement according to need can be made for each terminal. In addition, even if the connector is equipped with multiple terminals and they are displaced, it is not necessary to provide a conventional movable housing for each terminal in order to displace each terminal independently. Is possible.
The movable spring part of the present invention can be configured such that the length differs for each terminal. If all the movable spring portions of each terminal have the same length, the housing is enlarged. However, the connector can be reduced in the width direction by changing the length of the movable spring portion.
The terminal of the present invention has a base portion fixed to the housing on the other end side of the movable spring portion having the contact portion on one end side, and the base portion of one of the adjacent terminals and the other of the other The contact portion of the terminal can be disposed at a position overlapping with the height direction of the housing. The connector can be reduced in size in the width direction by disposing the base portion and the contact portion of the adjacent terminals at a position overlapping in the height direction of the housing.
The terminal of the present invention may have a protruding piece at the contact portion, and the housing may have an insertion portion that accommodates the protruding piece with a displaceable gap. According to this, when the pin-like terminal to be connected is inserted, it is possible to suppress the contact portion from being abnormally deformed upward with the momentum.
The contact portion of the present invention may have a plurality of contact holes that come into contact with the pin-shaped terminals at different positions along the insertion / extraction direction. Since the upright standing posture of the pin-shaped terminal is maintained by making contact with the pin-shaped terminal through the plurality of contact holes, stable conductive contact can be maintained.
Moreover, the connector of this invention is equipped with the clip terminal which can be displaced following the said displacement of the said contact part, hold | maintaining the pin-shaped terminal which the said contact part contacts inside the said fitting chamber. According to this, since the clip terminal directly or indirectly holds the pin-shaped terminal that comes into contact with the contact portion, the conduction contact at the contact portion can be reliably maintained and the connection reliability can be improved. In addition, the clip terminal can follow and displace while clipping (holding) the pin-shaped terminal without hindering the displacement of the contact portion linked with the displacement at the time of connection of the pin-shaped terminal or the displacement after the connection.
The movable spring portion of the present invention is bent and deformed so that the contact portion is displaced in the axis crossing direction of the pin-like terminal. Further, the movable spring portion of the present invention is bent and deformed so that the contact portion is displaced in the axial direction of the pin-shaped terminal.
According to this, the said contact part is displaced in the axis crossing direction of a pin-shaped terminal, and an axial direction. That is, the contact portion is displaced in the three-dimensional direction or at least one of the directions, and can effectively absorb the positional deviation at the time of connecting the pin-shaped terminals and the displacement after the connection.
The clip terminal of the present invention connects the fixing part to the housing, the clip part holding the pin-like terminal, the fixing part and the clip part, and can elastically displace the clip part relative to the fixing part inside the fitting chamber. And a movable support portion to be supported.
According to this, a movable support part supports a clip part so that elastic displacement is possible inside a fitting chamber. Therefore, the clip portion of the clip terminal can be displaced following the displacement of the contact portion interlocked with the displacement at the time of connection of the pin-shaped terminal or the displacement after the connection while clipping the pin-shaped terminal.
By the way, in the connector of the conventional floating structure, the displacement of the movable housing (mating connector) with respect to the fixed housing is absorbed by the movable piece of the terminal. Therefore, the movable housing (and the contact portion of the terminal) and the housing of the mating connector (and the contact portion of the mating terminal) are firmly connected so that the mutual connection is not disconnected. On the other hand, the connector of the present invention reinforces the contact portion of the terminal with the clip terminal instead of giving the contact holding force to the pin-shaped terminal. Thus, by giving the contact holding force to the clip terminal, various features can be realized by a combination of the contact portion and the clip terminal. For example, the terminal of the present invention and the clip terminal can be formed of different materials. It is possible to realize a connector having a combination of excellent different functions by having different material terminals separately carry the conduction performance and holding performance. More specifically, the terminal can be formed of a metal material (corson alloy material) having excellent electrical conductivity, while the clip terminal can be formed of a metal material (stainless steel) having a different material and excellent heat resistance. it can. According to this, it is possible to realize a connector that continuously exhibits a reliable holding force even in a high temperature environment while exhibiting excellent conductivity with the terminal.
According to the connector of the present invention, since the terminal has a floating structure, there is no need to prepare a fixed housing and a movable housing as in the conventional floating structure, and the floating structure can be realized even with one housing. be able to. In addition, since the contact portion is elastically supported by the movable spring portion and can be displaced independently for each terminal, the displacement can be optimized for each terminal, and there is no need to provide a movable housing for each terminal. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the size of the entire connector.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In the description of the present specification or claims, for convenience, the X direction in FIG. 1 is described as the width direction (left-right direction), the Y direction is the front-rear direction, and the Z direction is the up-down direction (insertion / removal direction). However, these directions do not limit the installation direction or use direction of the
Description of the Connector 1 : The
Housing 4 : The
A fixing
As shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, the
In the
Terminal 5 : The
The
The
Such a
The
As shown in FIG. 6, a
In the
Clip terminal 6 : The
The fixed
The
The
The

Method of Using Connector 1: As shown by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 2, the
Here, when the axial center of the pin-
Further, when the
As described above, when the pin-shaped
As described above, when the
Even if the
