Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a determination device and a determination method for ultraviolet shielding ability for determining whether or not an object to be inspected transmits ultraviolet rays.
More specifically, for example, if the cosmetic to be purchased has an action of shielding ultraviolet rays, particularly ultraviolet rays called UV-A waves having a wavelength of about 320 to 400 nm, how much shielding function is provided. The present invention relates to a determination apparatus and a determination method for ultraviolet shielding ability that enable a purchaser or the like to make an objective and simple determination visually.
The fact that the amount of ultraviolet rays reaching the surface of the earth is increasing due to the destruction of the ozone layer has led to an increasing social interest in UV protection.
The ultraviolet rays are roughly classified into long wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-A) having a wavelength of about 320 to 400 nm, medium wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-B) having a wavelength of about 290 to 320 nm, and short wavelength ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of less than about 290 nm ( UV-C).
Among these ultraviolet rays, short wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-C) are absorbed and scattered by the ozone layer above the atmosphere, oxygen in the air, etc., and do not reach the ground, and have little influence on the human body.
Medium-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-B) originally hardly reached the ground, but it reached the ground due to the destruction of the ozone layer, and long-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-A) is ultraviolet radiation that reaches the ground. It accounts for about 90% or more.
Among these ultraviolet rays that reach the ground, medium wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-B) mainly affect the epidermis, activate melanocytes, and cause spots, sunburn (sunburn) and the like It is known to cause skin disorders.
In order to shield the medium wavelength ultraviolet ray (UV-B) and protect the skin, various products having the ability to shield medium wavelength ultraviolet ray (UV-B) have already been proposed and put into practical use.
On the other hand, long-wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-A) are attracting attention as they reach the dermis in the skin, destroy the collagen and elastin that provide elasticity and elasticity, and cause wrinkles and tarmi.
Conventionally, evaluation of these ultraviolet shielding capabilities is generally performed by applying a product to be evaluated on a transparent glass plate such as a slide glass to create a coating film, and using a spectrophotometer or the like. This has been done by measuring the transmittance (for example, see Patent Document 1).
For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 11-130629 (Patent Document 1) discloses an in vitro evaluation method for an ultraviolet protective effect that is highly consistent with actual use.
This UV protection effect evaluation method evaluates the UV protection effect of a cosmetic by applying the cosmetic on a slide glass, rubbing it with a medium, and then measuring the UV transmittance.
Furthermore, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-296180 (Patent Document 2) proposes an ultraviolet transmittance measuring device and a measuring method that can easily objectively evaluate the relative ultraviolet light shielding performance between samples. Yes.

近年、化粧料などの製品の紫外線遮蔽能を示す指標として、ISO規格のSPF(Sun Protection Factor)値や、ISO規格のPA(Protection Factor of UVA)値が用いられている。
In recent years, an ISO standard SPF (Sun Protection Factor) value and an ISO standard PA (Protection Factor of UVA) value are used as an index indicating the ultraviolet shielding ability of products such as cosmetics.
The SPF is used as an indicator of the shielding ability of medium wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-B), and the PA is used as an indicator of the shielding ability of long wavelength ultraviolet rays (UV-A).
However, the conventional method for evaluating ultraviolet shielding ability is not a simple method because it requires a measuring instrument such as a spectrophotometer.
Furthermore, although the SPF and PA can objectively evaluate the ultraviolet shielding ability of cosmetics and the like, a large number of subjects are required, and there is a problem of cost and time, and it is necessary to irradiate human skin with ultraviolet rays. There was a problem that there was.
Furthermore, many of the products having an ultraviolet shielding ability currently on the market have high SPF values.
However, the evaluation of the PA value is insufficient in these products.

<Result>
When the cosmetic material B was irradiated with ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 375 nm, the ultraviolet light was transmitted through the cosmetic material B, and characters printed on the surface of the detection means 4 were displayed.
On the other hand, the cosmetic material A was irradiated with ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 375 nm, but the display of characters was not recognized by the detection means 4.
Therefore, it was found that cosmetic A has a shielding ability against UV-A, but cosmetic B does not have a shielding ability against UV-A.
