Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a navigation device, a navigation method, a computer program, and a recording medium on which the computer program is recorded.
In Europe and the United States, a roundabout called Roundabout (RABout) is widely used, and roundabout operations have begun throughout Japan.
Here, the roundabout is a kind of circular intersection and may be called a circular intersection or a rotary intersection.
While roundabouts are expected to prevent traffic accidents and alleviate traffic congestion, there are concerns that drivers may be unfamiliar with driving roundabouts. In other words, it is difficult for a driver who is unfamiliar with the roundabout to accurately determine the exit route and to grasp the timing of exiting the exit route.
In relation to such a technique, in Patent Document 1, when it is determined that the vehicle has gone around without leaving the roundabout, a road information guidance device that guides the direction corresponding to the exit road that exits from the roundabout. Is disclosed.

The inventors of the present invention have made extensive studies so that even a driver who is unfamiliar with the roundabout can travel within the roundabout with more peace of mind. As a result, I noticed the following.
In a roundabout, it is difficult for a driver who has left the exit route guided by the guidance route and circulates in the roundabout to always pay attention to the exit route to be exited. Further, according to a normal navigation system equipped with a reroute function, when a departure from the guidance route, a new guidance route from the departure point to the destination is searched, and this new guidance route is displayed on the monitor of the navigation device. (See FIG. 1). This makes it more difficult for the driver to recognize the exit route guided by the original guidance route.
Here, the navigation system usually searches for the lowest cost guide route from the viewpoint of distance or time and provides it to the driver. Therefore, even if the route deviates from the guidance route within the roundabout as described above, the route around the roundabout is restored to the original route compared to the guidance route that uses another exit route searched by the reroute function. There is a high possibility that the route exiting from the exit route is preferable in terms of cost.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to display the exit route of the original guide route so that it can be easily recognized when the guide route deviates from the roundabout.

A guide route storage unit for storing the guide route searched by the navigation system;
A guide route display unit for displaying the guide route;
A navigation device comprising:
A roundabout identifying unit for identifying a roundabout existing on the guide route;
A current position acquisition unit for acquiring the current position of the vehicle;
A deviation detecting unit for detecting that the vehicle has deviated from the guide route in the identified roundabout;
A display control unit that controls not to update the display of the guide route when a deviation from the guide route is detected;
A navigation device comprising:
According to the navigation device of the first aspect defined as described above, when the roundabout existing on the guidance route searched by the navigation system is specified and the vehicle deviates from the guidance route in the roundabout, the guidance is provided. Control the display so that the route is not updated. According to such a navigation apparatus, even when the user leaves the exit route guided by the guide route, the display of the original guide route is maintained, so that the driver is guided by the original guide route. The exit route can be easily recognized. In addition, if the original guide route is displayed, the driver can also recognize the point where the original guide route is returned even during roundabout.
The navigation device specifies a timing for turning on the direction indicator of the vehicle in order to exit from the exit route of the roundabout guided by the guidance route after a deviation from the guidance route is detected. (Second aspect). According to such an apparatus, it is possible to suppress forgetting to turn on the direction indicator of the driver who has deviated from the guidance route and circulated around the roundabout, and moreover, the driver has an appropriate timing to exit from the correct exit path. The direction indicator can be operated. Moreover, in an autonomous driving vehicle, it becomes possible to operate a direction indicator at an appropriate timing.
