Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to output control of a highland or uphill road of a hybrid drive vehicle that travels using an internal combustion engine and an electric motor as power sources.
In a hybrid drive vehicle that travels using an internal combustion engine and an electric motor as power sources, it is known to selectively apply electric vehicle travel (EV mode travel) and hybrid drive travel (HEV mode travel). In EV mode travel, the operation of the internal combustion engine is stopped and the vehicle travels only with the power of the electric motor. In HEV mode traveling, the internal combustion engine is operated to obtain traveling power from the internal combustion engine, and if necessary, the electric motor is operated as a generator with the output of the internal combustion engine to store power in a power storage device that is a power supply source. . Regarding the travel control of such a hybrid drive vehicle,
By the way, in a plug-in hybrid drive vehicle, the power storage device is often in a fully charged state when the vehicle starts to travel. In such a case, first, the vehicle is driven by the stored power of the power storage device by performing EV mode traveling. Accordingly, if the distance is short, the vehicle can be driven only by the stored power of the power storage device, and the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine can be suppressed to zero.
Then, as a result of EV mode running, when the amount of stored electricity (SOC) of the power storage device decreases, HEV mode running is performed. In HEV mode traveling, motor-assisted traveling is performed that supplements the output of the internal combustion engine with the output of the electric motor, and charging traveling that covers the power for traveling with the output of the internal combustion engine and charges the power storage device by driving the electric motor as a generator. Thus, the SOC is maintained at a predetermined amount. That is, in the HEV mode traveling, the electric motor is controlled according to the SOC.
On the other hand, when the altitude of the runway is high or under a high load condition including many uphill roads, HEV mode running is performed from the start of running in order to satisfy the required output. Also in this case, the electric motor is controlled according to the SOC. That is, if the stored power SOC of the power storage device is in a fully charged state, motor assist travel is performed by fully utilizing the assist force by the electric motor, and the assist force by the electric motor is reduced as the SOC decreases.
In such output control depending on the SOC, the output of the electric motor is preferentially used as long as there is a margin in the SOC. Therefore, it is inevitable that the SOC of the power storage device is quickly reduced. As a result, it is necessary to stop the operation of the electric motor at an early stage and shift to charge running.
By the way, when the altitude of the runway is high, the oxygen concentration in the intake air decreases, so the output of the internal combustion engine decreases. The driver depresses the accelerator pedal more deeply to obtain the output required for driving. The same applies when the ascending slope of the runway becomes steep during traveling. That is, when the hybrid drive vehicle is charged on a high altitude road or a steep uphill road, the internal combustion engine is inevitably operated in a high load region.
As an inherent characteristic of an internal combustion engine, there is a fuel increase region in which the fuel consumption increases remarkably as the engine output increases in the high load region near the full throttle. When the internal combustion engine is operated in the fuel increase range, deterioration of fuel consumption is inevitable.
That is, the motor assist force control depending on the SOC may increase the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine when the altitude of the road is high or when the road is heavily loaded including many uphill roads with steep slopes.
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to suppress fuel consumption of a hybrid drive vehicle in a case where the altitude of the road is high or in a high load running condition including many steep slopes. And
In order to achieve the above object, an embodiment of the present invention provides an output control device for a hybrid drive vehicle that travels using an internal combustion engine and an electric motor that is operated by charging power of a power storage device as a power source. The output control device includes a road information acquisition unit that acquires information on a road on which the vehicle is scheduled to travel, and a fuel-increasing region of the internal combustion engine when the hybrid drive vehicle travels on the road only with the output of the internal combustion engine from the road information. An output for calculating the output energy that can be output by the electric motor for traveling on the road based on the charge amount of the charging device when the determination by the determination means is positive and the determination by the determination means is affirmative Energy calculating means, motor assist force calculating means for calculating the motor assist force of the electric motor by dividing the output energy by the scheduled travel time of the road, and electric motor control means for controlling the operation of the electric motor based on the motor assist force And.
With the above configuration, a uniform motor assist force can be obtained in all sections of the runway. With this motor assist force, a situation in which the driving power must be generated only by the internal combustion engine does not occur, and the opportunity to operate the internal combustion engine in the fuel increase region can be surely reduced. As a result, the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine can be suppressed while maintaining the output required by the vehicle.
Referring to FIG. 1, a

As described above, the output control device of the

In step S <b> 1, the
In step S <b> 2, the

If the determination in step S2 is negative, that is, if it is determined that the operating range of the
In step S <b> 3, the
In step S4, the
With reference to FIG. 3, the effect | action which the above control brings about is demonstrated. This figure assumes a case where a hybrid drive vehicle or an uphill road travels to the destination by HEV mode travel. FIG. 3A shows the operation control of the
In FIG. 3A, since the SOC of the
However, since the
On the other hand, in the output control apparatus according to this embodiment, the output control routine of FIG. 2 is executed when the driver sets a target location in the
The motor assist force calculated in step S4 is a relatively small value, and when the
Since the motor assist force is small, the
In this embodiment, motor assist is performed throughout the entire section. Therefore, the
FIGS. 3A and 3B illustrate the case where the runway is composed of an uphill road, but this embodiment also provides a similar fuel saving effect when the runway is flat and the altitude is extremely high. It is done. As described above, since the air becomes thin at a high altitude, the output of the
In the embodiment described above, the motor assist force is determined by setting the entire runway from the start of the
In this embodiment, information on the altitude and gradient of the runway is used as the runway information. By using such information that seems to have the greatest influence on the traveling load of the
Furthermore, this embodiment is intended for the plug-in
