Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electrolyte membrane, a membrane electrode assembly, and a fuel cell.
A fuel cell is a device that generates electricity by chemically reacting hydrogen and oxygen, has high energy efficiency, and emits little environmental pollutants. Yes. A fuel cell includes an anode electrode to which fuel gas is supplied, a cathode electrode to which oxidant gas is supplied, and a conductive material that is provided between the electrodes and includes an ion exchange group that conducts protons from the anode electrode to the cathode electrode. A fuel cell including an electrolyte membrane made of a polymer material is disclosed (for example, Patent Document 1). The fuel and oxidant are not limited to gas and may be supplied in liquid form.
In the case of the fuel cell according to
However, in
Then, an object of this invention is to provide the electrolyte membrane which can prevent the deformation | transformation by swelling, a membrane electrode assembly, and a fuel cell.
The electrolyte membrane of the present invention includes a membrane main body based on at least a solid polymer membrane, and the membrane main body includes a hydrophilic portion including an ion exchange group that conducts protons, and a hydrophobic portion formed of a hydrophobic material. The hydrophilic portion is formed to communicate from one surface of the membrane body to the other surface, and the concentration of the ion exchange groups varies in the thickness direction of the membrane body.
According to the present invention, the electrolyte membrane can prevent deformation due to swelling because the hydrophobic portion suppresses deformation of the hydrophilic portion even if the hydrophilic portion contains water.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
(1) First Embodiment A
The
One
膜本体11は、少なくとも固体高分子膜を基材とし、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、PTFE(Polytetrafluoroethylene)、PVdF(Polyvinylidenefluoride)、FEP(Tetrafluoroethylene - Hexafluoropropylene Copolymer)、PFA(Tetrafluoroethylene - Perfluoroalkylvinylether Copolymer)、ETFE(Tetrafluoroethylene - Ethylene Copolymer)などのフッ素系高分子材料及びそれらの架橋体を用いることができる。
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
In the case of this embodiment, the
In this figure, the
Next, a method for manufacturing the
In the case of this embodiment, in order to regularly arrange the
As the quantum beam, for example, an electron beam, an ion beam, a neutron beam, or a γ ray can be used. The irradiation conditions of the electron beam are not particularly limited. For example, the acceleration voltage is 90 kV to 200 kV, the current value is 100 μA, 1 pass, the stage moving speed is 5 cm / sec, the irradiation dose is 20 uC / cm 2 , and the N 2 atmosphere. Can do. The ion beam irradiation conditions are not particularly limited. For example,
The
In the
When these reactions are expressed by an electrochemical equation, H 2 → 2H + + 2e − at the
The
In the
(Modification)
Although the
Thus, the concentration of ion exchange groups is controlled in the film thickness direction of the
Such a tapered
Moreover, the
Further, the
In the
(2) Second Embodiment Next, an electrolyte membrane according to a second embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. In addition, about the structure similar to the electrolyte membrane which concerns on the said 1st Embodiment, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected and description is abbreviate | omitted. The electrolyte membrane according to the present embodiment can be applied to the fuel cell shown in FIG. Since the configuration of the fuel cell is the same as that of the first embodiment, the description thereof is omitted.
The
In the case of the
On the other hand, in the
The surface layers 56A and 56B can be formed by modifying the entire one
In this case, a low energy beam such as an electron beam or an ion beam can be used as the quantum beam. By irradiating with a low energy beam in this way, radicals can be generated in the region of several microns from the surface of the
Next, the
The irradiation conditions of the electron beam when using an electron beam as the surface modification method are not particularly limited. For example, the acceleration voltage is 40 kV to 50 kV, the current value is 100 μA, 1 pass, the stage moving speed is 5 cm / sec, and the irradiation is performed. The dose can be 20uC / cm 2 and N 2 atmosphere.
As described above, the
In the manufacturing method, the case where the surface layers 56A and 56B are formed after the
Further, the
When generating a radical using a quantum beam, a step of generating a radical in a cylindrical region, a step of generating a radical in a region of several microns in the depth direction from one
Further, when radicals are generated in regions of several microns in the depth direction from the one-
In the case of the present embodiment, the case where the surface layers 56A and 56B are formed on the one-
Moreover, although the surface layers 56A and 56B demonstrated the case where it forms by modifying the one
Since the

Next, examples according to the present invention will be described. In the following, the graft ratio (X [%]) is represented by 100 (W 2 −W 1 ) / W 1 . Here, W 1 is the weight of the dried electrolyte membrane before forming the hydrophilic portion, and W 2 is the weight of the dried electrolyte membrane after forming the hydrophilic portion.

The results of Examples 1 to 3 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 are shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, the horizontal axis represents current density (mA / cm 2 ), and the vertical axis represents voltage (V) and output density (mW / cm 2 ). In FIG. 7, 32A is the output voltage in Example 1, 31A is the output voltage in Comparative Example 1, 32B is the output density in Example 1, and 31B is the result of the output density in Comparative Example 1. In FIG. 8, 36A is the output voltage in Example 2, 35A is the output voltage in Comparative Example 2, 36B is the output density in Example 2, and 35B is the output density in Comparative Example 2. In FIG. 9, 42A is the output voltage in Example 3, 41A is the output voltage in Comparative Example 3, 42B is the output density in Example 3, and 41B is the result of output density in Comparative Example 3.
From the above results, it was confirmed that the difference between the output voltage and the output density was small in Examples and Comparative Examples. From this, it was confirmed that although the example according to the present invention had a smaller graft rate than the comparative example, the power generation performance equivalent to the comparative example having a high graft rate could be obtained. Therefore, in the Example which concerns on this invention, when making a graft ratio equivalent to a comparative example, it is estimated that the electric power generation performance equivalent to or more than a comparative example is obtained.

After irradiation with an ion beam, the radical yield of every 25 μm is measured in the atmosphere by electron spin resonance (ESR) method, and generated by applying spatial energy in the direction of ion trajectory. A graft reaction was performed using radicals to form an
As shown in FIG. 12, it was found that the radical concentration in the depth direction increased substantially following the Bragg curve (FIG. 11), and tends to decrease from the calculated value near the Brack peak where the energy is highest. This is thought to be due to the pair annihilation due to the high concentration of radicals. In addition, when irradiated with low LET (Linear Energy Transfer) He 2+ compared to other ions, the radical concentration increases proportionally with increasing fluence (up to 1.0 × 10 11 n / cm 2 ). On the other hand, it was found that, when irradiated with ions having a higher LET than Ne 10+ , the radical concentration increased proportionally to a certain fluence, while the radical concentration increased with a higher fluence. Note that LET refers to the energy that radiation loses on average per unit length.

For the simulation, “EGS5” was used.
