Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical beacon that communicates with an in-vehicle device mounted on a vehicle traveling on a road using an optical signal.
路車間通信システムを利用した交通情報サービスとして、光ビーコン、電波ビーコン又はFM多重放送システムを利用したVICS(Vehicle Information and Communication System:なお、「VICS」は、財団法人道路交通情報通信システムセンターの登録商標)が既に展開されている。 VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) using optical beacons, radio beacons, or FM multiplex broadcasting systems as traffic information services using road-to-vehicle communication systems: “VICS” is registered with the Road Traffic Information Communication System Center. Trademark) has already been developed. Among these, the optical beacon employs optical communication using near infrared as a communication medium, and bidirectional communication with the in-vehicle device is possible.
Specifically, uplink information including travel time information between beacons held by the vehicle is transmitted from the in-vehicle device to the optical beacon on the infrastructure side, and conversely, traffic jam information, section travel time information, event regulation information, and lanes Downlink information including notification information and the like is transmitted from the optical beacon to the vehicle-mounted device (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
The optical beacon includes a beacon head that performs bidirectional communication with an in-vehicle device. The beacon head includes a light projecting unit that emits downlink light including downlink information and a light receiving unit that receives uplink light including uplink information from the in-vehicle device. In the following description, “downlink” is referred to as “DL”, and “uplink” is referred to as “UL”.
The beacon head of the optical beacon is installed above the road supported by a support column, etc., and the communication area for communicating with the in-vehicle device passing below it is set closer to the upstream side than directly below it To do. And this communication area | region consists of UL communication area | region which can receive UL light from a vehicle equipment, and DL communication area | region for vehicle equipment to receive DL light. These communication areas are defined by the “advanced optical beacon near infrared interface standard” of optical beacons.
In addition, the light beacon light projecting portion described in
On the other hand, the light receiving portion of the optical beacon is configured by a photodiode (hereinafter also referred to as “PD”). The light receiving unit receives UL light emitted from an in-vehicle device of a vehicle traveling in the UL communication area on the road.
The light projecting unit and the light receiving unit are disposed adjacent to each other, and are accommodated in the housing of the beacon head.
As shown in FIG. 19, the
Most of the DL light emitted from the
In this way, the DL light incident on the

[Summary of Embodiment of the Present Invention]
First, the gist of the embodiment of the present invention will be listed and described. In addition, each embodiment described below can also combine the part arbitrarily.
(1) An optical beacon according to an embodiment of the present invention is an optical beacon that performs optical communication with an in-vehicle device mounted on a vehicle on a road,
A light projecting unit that emits an optical signal toward the road;
A light receiving unit for receiving an optical signal emitted by the in-vehicle device;
A housing for housing the light projecting unit and the light receiving unit,
The housing includes a light projecting side cover region covering the light projecting unit, a light receiving side cover region covering the light receiving unit, and a boundary region located between the light projecting side cover region and the light receiving side cover region. And a cover member capable of transmitting an optical signal,
A reflection suppressing member having a refractive index larger than the refractive index of air is provided on the outer surface of the boundary region in close contact with the outer surface.
According to such a configuration, even if the optical signal emitted from the light projecting part travels inside the cover member toward the light receiving part while reflecting on the front and back surfaces of the cover member, the surface of the boundary region ( The optical signal that reaches the interface with the reflection suppressing member on the outer surface is difficult to be totally reflected at the interface, and a part of the optical signal is reflected but the other part enters the reflection suppressing member and is refracted. Therefore, it can enter the light receiving side cover region from the boundary region and weaken the intensity of the optical signal received by the light receiving unit, and the optical signal prevents the light receiving unit from receiving the optical signal from the in-vehicle device. Can be prevented.
(2) An optical beacon according to an aspect of the present invention is:
An optical beacon that performs optical communication with an in-vehicle device mounted on a vehicle on a road,
A light projecting unit that emits an optical signal toward the road;
A light receiving unit for receiving an optical signal emitted by the in-vehicle device;
A housing for housing the light projecting unit and the light receiving unit,
The housing includes a light projecting side cover region covering the light projecting unit, a light receiving side cover region covering the light receiving unit, and a boundary region located between the light projecting side cover region and the light receiving side cover region. And a cover member capable of transmitting an optical signal,
A reflection suppressing member made of synthetic rubber is provided on the outer surface of the boundary region in close contact with the outer surface.
According to such a configuration, even if the optical signal emitted from the light projecting part travels inside the cover member toward the light receiving part while reflecting on the front and back surfaces of the cover member, the surface of the boundary region ( The optical signal that reaches the interface with the anti-reflection member made of synthetic rubber on the outer surface is difficult to be totally reflected at the interface, and part of the optical signal is reflected but the other part enters the anti-reflection member. Refract. Therefore, it can enter the light receiving side cover region from the boundary region and weaken the intensity of the optical signal received by the light receiving unit, and the optical signal prevents the light receiving unit from receiving the optical signal from the in-vehicle device. Can be prevented.
In addition, as a synthetic rubber, ethylene propylene diene rubber, silicone rubber, fluorine rubber, chloroprene rubber, etc. are employable, for example.
(3) In the optical beacon according to (1) or (2), the housing includes a partition member that covers a boundary region of the cover member from the outside,
It is preferable that the reflection suppressing member is sandwiched between the partition member and the cover member.
With such a configuration, the reflection suppressing member can be arranged in close contact with the boundary region of the cover member.
(4) In the optical beacon according to any one of (1) to (3) above, the inner surface of the cover member is specified corresponding to the light projecting side cover region and the light receiving side cover region, respectively. A filter member for cutting light of a wavelength is provided,
It is recommended that a light blocking structure that blocks the progress of the optical signal between the two filter members is provided between the two filter members.
According to this configuration, even if an optical signal emitted from the light projecting unit is reflected on the front and back surfaces of the filter member on the light projecting unit side and travels toward the light receiving unit side, the light signal is blocked. By being blocked by the structure, it becomes difficult to enter the filter member on the light receiving unit side, and the incidence to the light receiving unit is reduced. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the optical signal from interfering when the light receiving unit receives the optical signal from the in-vehicle device.
(5) In the optical beacon according to any one of (1) to (4), the light projecting side cover region, the boundary region, and the light receiving side cover region are configured by an integral member. It is preferable.
With such a configuration, while reducing the intensity of the optical signal emitted from the light projecting unit and received by the light receiving unit through the cover member, the watertightness between the light projecting side cover region, the boundary region, and the light receiving side cover region is reduced. It is possible to easily ensure the property.
(6) In the above configuration, the housing includes a housing body to which the cover member is attached,
It is preferable that a seal member is provided between an outer peripheral portion of the cover member and the housing body, and the reflection suppressing member is formed integrally with the seal member with the same material as the seal member.
With such a configuration, the reflection suppressing member can be configured by a part of the seal member, and an increase in manufacturing cost associated with providing the reflection suppressing member can be suppressed.
(7) In the optical beacon of (4) above, the filter member is preferably black.
(8) In the optical beacon according to any one of (1) to (7), the light projecting unit includes a surface-mounted light-emitting diode having a full width at half maximum of 60 ° or more on a circuit board. It is preferable.
The surface-mounted light-emitting diode has a greater spread of the optical signal toward the light-receiving unit than the bullet-type light-emitting diode, and the light signal is more easily incident on the light-receiving unit. It is important to do.
(9) An optical beacon according to another embodiment of the present invention is:
An optical beacon that performs optical communication with an in-vehicle device mounted on a vehicle on a road,
A light projecting unit that emits an optical signal toward the road;
A light receiving unit for receiving an optical signal emitted by the in-vehicle device;
A housing that houses the light projecting unit and the light receiving unit,
The housing includes a light emitting side cover member that covers the light projecting unit and is capable of transmitting the optical signal, a light receiving side cover member that covers the light receiving unit and is capable of transmitting the optical signal, and the light projecting unit A light projecting side filter member for cutting light of a predetermined wavelength provided on the inner surface of the side cover member, and a light receiving side filter member for cutting light of the predetermined wavelength provided on the inner surface of the light receiving side cover member. ,
At least one of the light projecting side cover member and the light receiving side cover member and between the light projecting side filter member and the light receiving side filter member blocks the progress of the optical signal between the two members. A light shielding structure is provided.
According to this configuration, the optical signal emitted from the light projecting unit is reflected toward the light receiving unit while reflecting on the front and back surfaces of the light projecting side cover member or the front and back surfaces of the light projecting side filter member. Even if the light travels inside, it is difficult to enter the light receiving side cover member or filter member by being blocked by the light blocking structure, and the light signal is less likely to enter the light receiving portion. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the optical signal from interfering when the light receiving unit receives the optical signal from the in-vehicle device.
(10) An optical beacon according to still another embodiment of the present invention,
An optical beacon that performs optical communication with an in-vehicle device mounted on a vehicle on a road,
A light projecting unit that emits an optical signal toward the road, a light receiving unit that receives an optical signal emitted by the vehicle-mounted device, and a housing that houses the light projecting unit and the light receiving unit,
The housing includes a light projecting side cover region covering the light projecting unit, a light receiving side cover region covering the light receiving unit, and a boundary region located between the light projecting side cover region and the light receiving side cover region. And a cover member capable of transmitting an optical signal,
The outer surface of the boundary region has a characteristic of scattering an optical signal.
According to this configuration, even if an optical signal emitted from the light projecting unit travels inside the cover member toward the light receiving unit while being reflected on the front and back surfaces of the cover member, the surface (outer surface) of the boundary region The light signal is irregularly reflected and reaches the light receiving unit side. Therefore, the intensity of the optical signal received by the light receiving unit is weakened, and the optical signal can be prevented from becoming an obstacle when the light receiving unit receives the optical signal from the in-vehicle device.
[Details of the embodiment of the present invention]
Next, an optical beacon according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
<First Embodiment>
(Overall configuration of optical beacon)
FIG. 1 is a side view showing a state in which an optical beacon according to a first embodiment of the present invention is installed on a road.
The
The
The
The
The communication area A includes a downlink communication area DA in which the in-vehicle device S can receive the DL light DO from the beacon head 2 (a region in which solid line hatching is provided in FIG. 1) DA, and the

According to the “optical vehicle sensing near-infrared interface standard” of the
Recently, development of an optical beacon called “advanced optical beacon” is underway. This advanced optical beacon is an advanced system that expands communication capacity compared to conventional optical communication systems using existing optical beacons. The direction length is extended. In the case of this advanced optical beacon, for example, the upstream end of the DL communication area DA is 6.04 m from directly below the

As shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, a cover glass (cover member) 44 is provided above the first and

As shown in FIG. 8, the mounting
As shown in FIG. 6, the
As shown in FIGS. 6 and 8,

A light shielding member (light shielding structure) 50 is provided between the light projecting side cut
In FIG. 19 showing the prior art, most of the DL light DO emitted from the
In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 10, the packing 46 is provided in close contact with the outer surface of the boundary region B <b> 3 of the
sin(i)/sin(r)=n2/n1 ・・・(1)
The above operation will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.
As shown in FIGS. 11 and 12, and
sin (i) / sin (r) = n 2 / n 1 (1)
sin(i’)=n2/n1 ・・・(2)
sin(i)>n2/n1 ・・・(3)
Here, as shown in FIG. 12, when the refractive index n 1 is larger than the refractive index n 2 , the refraction angle r ′ becomes 90 ° when the incident angle becomes a certain angle i ′. This angle i ′ is an angle satisfying the following condition (formula (2)) from the formula (1), and is generally called “critical angle”.
sin (i ′) = n 2 / n 1 (2)
When the incident angle i exceeds the critical angle i ′, refraction does not occur and total reflection occurs. That is, the condition that causes total reflection is the following expression (3).
sin (i)> n 2 / n 1 (3)
For example, as shown in FIG. 19, when the outer surface of the
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 11, when the refractive index n 1 is smaller than the refractive index n 2 , even if the incident angle i becomes large (for example, the incident angle i → i ″), the refractive angle r Since "" is less than 90 °, total reflection does not occur.
As shown in FIG. 12, even if the refractive index n 1 is larger than the refractive index n 2 , the critical angle i ′ becomes larger than the conventional one if n 2 is larger than the refractive index of the air layer D. It becomes difficult to totally reflect.
In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 10, the
Further, when the refractive index n 1 of the
The material of the packing 46 is a reflection suppressing member (
In consideration of the positional relationship between the light projecting
As described with reference to FIG. 12, since total reflection occurs when the incident angle i exceeds a predetermined critical angle i ′, all the light incident on the
sin(ia)<n2/n1 ・・・(4)
As shown in FIG. 13, among the optical signals incident on the
In other words, the angle of incidence i a is the may be adopted
sin (i a ) <n 2 / n 1 (4)
As an example, when the incident angle ia of the optical signal incident on the
On the other hand, if the total reflection in the
Here, it is assumed that if the incident angle of the light signal totally reflected among the light signals incident on the
Referring to FIG. 13, among the optical signals incident from the
Then, the angle of incidence i a and the incident angle i b and the refractive index n 2, as the incident angle i c of the intermediate is less than the critical angle of, that is, determine the refractive index n 2 satisfy the following equation (5), the it may be employed
sin(ic)≦n2/n1 ・・・(5)
sin (i c ) ≦ n 2 / n 1 (5)
However, i c = (i a + i b ) / 2
As an example, the angle of incidence i a is 80.9 °, the incident angle i b is 53.3 °, the refractive index n 1 of the
The optical signal directed from the
The reflection suppressing member may not be integrated with the packing 46 but may be configured separately. However, by configuring the reflection suppressing member integrally with the packing 46, it is possible to suppress an increase in manufacturing cost associated with providing the reflection suppressing member.
sin(id)≦n2/n1 ・・・(6)
In the above example, if the incident angle of the totally reflected optical signal among the optical signals incident on the
Instead of such a method, as shown in FIG. 14, among the optical signals incident on the
sin ( id ) ≦ n 2 / n 1 (6)

Since the light projecting side cover area B1, the light receiving side cover area B2, and the boundary area B3 in the
Moreover, since the
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 19, the DL light DO that has entered the visible light cut
<Second Embodiment>
FIG. 15 is an explanatory view showing how light is reflected in the second embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 16 is an exploded perspective view of the cover glass.
The
The
The
<Third Embodiment>
FIG. 17 is a perspective view showing a cover glass in the third embodiment of the present invention.

<Fourth Embodiment>
FIG. 18 is an explanatory diagram showing how light is reflected in the fourth embodiment of the present invention.
In the present embodiment, packing as a reflection suppressing member is not provided in a portion corresponding to the boundary region B3 of the
