Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a ship using methanol as fuel, which has not been used as a fuel for a ship engine in the prior art.
Most ships use heavy oil as fuel, but in recent years, nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx), carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), etc. contained in exhaust gas discharged from ships The amount of emissions is regulated by international treaties, and this regulation is being strengthened year by year.
As one of the countermeasures for these exhaust gas regulations, liquefied natural gas (LNG) is attracting attention as an environmentally friendly clean fuel. Since this liquefied natural gas does not contain a sulfur content and also produces little carbon dioxide, it becomes possible to reduce sulfur oxides and carbon dioxide contained in the exhaust gas.
However, in liquefied natural gas, natural gas is not liquefied only by pressurization, and it is necessary to bring it to an extremely low temperature of about −165 ° C. for liquefaction. In addition to the need for special materials that can withstand temperatures, equipment for heat insulation of liquefied natural gas is required, which increases equipment costs and increases costs. Yes, and depending on how the evaporative gas generated by vaporization of liquefied natural gas due to intrusion heat deteriorates the fuel efficiency, there is a problem of how efficiently this evaporative gas can be used. There is.
On the other hand, it has been proposed to use methanol as fuel in a diesel engine (see, for example,
The present invention has been made in view of the above situation, and its object is to overcome the problems of facility measures and utilization efficiency to cryogenic temperatures that are faced when liquefied natural gas fuel is used as fuel. An object of the present invention is to provide a ship using methanol as a fuel, which can reduce the amount of sulfur oxides and carbon dioxide in exhaust gas at low cost.
A ship using methanol as fuel for achieving the above object is disposed in the engine room, is disposed on the upper deck, and is stored on the upper deck, and stores methanol as fuel. A methanol fuel tank, a methanol supply system disposed on the upper deck and supplying methanol from the methanol fuel tank to the internal combustion engine, and a methanol disposed on the upper deck and supplied from the methanol fuel tank to the internal combustion engine And a methanol drain tank that is disposed outside the engine room and receives methanol discharged from the internal combustion engine, and the methanol fuel tank. A first pipe for supplying methanol from the methanol supply system to the methanol supply system; A second pipe for supplying methanol from the tank supply system to the valve unit; a third pipe for supplying methanol from the valve unit to the internal combustion engine; and a fourth pipe for discharging methanol drain from the internal combustion engine to the methanol drain tank. A pipe is provided, and the third pipe and the fourth pipe arranged in the engine room are double pipes.
According to this configuration, since the methanol fuel tank, the methanol supply system, and the methanol drain tank are disposed outside the engine room, even if methanol leaks from these devices, the methanol leaks into the engine room. Things will disappear. Moreover, since the piping part arrange | positioned inside an engine room is made into the double pipe in the 3rd piping and the 4th piping, even if methanol leaks from an inner side piping, this leakage is detected and an engine room is detected. Therefore, it is possible to prevent methanol from leaking into the engine room.
Therefore, since methanol can be safely burned by the engine in the engine room, a ship using methanol as fuel can be obtained.
In the ship using methanol as a fuel, the ship is a methanol carrier, and the cargo handling pump and the methanol are used to supply methanol from the methanol cargo hold or slop tank to the methanol fuel tank using the cargo handling pump. If it comprises the 5th piping which connects with a fuel tank, it can use methanol including a load as a fuel. Here, the slop tank is a tank allocated for a part of the cargo hold as a fuel or other tank under the upper deck, or provided separately in the vicinity of the cargo hold.
In a ship using methanol as a fuel, an inert gas generation system is provided, a gas pipe connecting the inert gas generation system and the valve unit is provided, and the inert gas generated in the inert gas generation system is passed through the valve unit. The methanol supply system, the valve unit, and the internal combustion engine are supplied to the methanol supply system, the valve unit, the internal combustion engine, the first pipe, the second pipe, the third pipe, and the fourth. If the piping is configured to be purged with inert gas, the methanol in each piping and device can be purged with inert gas, so that methanol can be easily and safely purged during maintenance inspections or when replacing the device. Become.
In the above-mentioned methanol fueled ship, when the valve unit is arranged at a position higher than the methanol supply system, this allows the methanol drain to flow naturally to the methanol supply system by gravity via the second pipe. Become. In addition, since the valve unit is positioned higher than the diesel engine by being arranged on the upper deck, methanol naturally flows from the valve unit to the diesel engine by gravity through the third pipe.
According to the ship fueled with methanol of the present invention, the problems faced by liquefied natural gas fuel can be overcome, and the sulfur oxides in the exhaust gas can be reduced at a lower cost than when liquefied natural gas is used as fuel. Carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced.
Hereinafter, a ship using methanol as fuel according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 and FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 do not necessarily match the front and back of the apparatus. However, in FIG. 1 and FIG. Are displayed side by side. In FIG. 1 and FIG. 3, it is necessary to illustrate devices and the like, and therefore the
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a ship 1 (hereinafter referred to as a ship) 1 that uses methanol as fuel according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes an engine room 2, a
And in the
The
Further, the
Then, a
The pipe portions 23 a and 24 a arranged inside the engine room 2 of the
A
Further, if necessary, each of the
In addition, it is preferable to provide a return pipe (not shown) for each of the
The
In this
The
The inert
In this methanol purge, methanol is provided on the inlet side of the
During this transfer, an inert gas having substantially the same pressure (for example, 8 bar) as the methanol supply pressure is supplied to the
Further, in order to remove the vaporized methanol remaining in the
According to the
Moreover, since the
For example, in the event of an emergency when methanol leaks from the inner pipe of the double pipe of the

The ship fueled with methanol of the present invention can overcome the problems of facility measures and utilization efficiency to cryogenic temperatures, which are faced when using liquefied natural gas fuel as a fuel, and is low in the cost of exhaust gas.
