Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ultrasonic device unit, and a probe, an electronic apparatus, an ultrasonic imaging apparatus, and the like using the ultrasonic device unit.
An ultrasonic device unit including a thin film type ultrasonic transducer element such as a so-called cMUT (capacitive micro ultrasonic transducer) is generally known. For example, in the ultrasonic device disclosed in Patent Document 1, a device substrate that supports a cMUT is bonded to a backing material, and an acoustic lens having a thin plate portion around a partial cylindrical surface is coupled to the element array of the cMUT.
In Patent Document 1, terminals are arranged on the device substrate outside the cMUT, and the terminals are connected to a flexible printed board on the backing material by wire bonding. In arranging wire bonding, a space is defined between the thin plate portion of the acoustic lens and the device substrate. The thin plate portion of the acoustic lens is moved away from the surface of the device substrate by the thickness of this space. When the ultrasonic device unit is pressed against the subject, an external force acts on the thin plate portion of the acoustic lens, so that there is a risk of damage to the acoustic lens.
In view of such circumstances, an ultrasonic device unit that can enhance the durability of an acoustic lens has been desired.
(1) In one aspect of the present invention, a device substrate having an element array including a plurality of thin film ultrasonic transducer elements arranged in an array on a first surface, and a good substrate first surface opposite to the device substrate A substrate coupled to the second surface on the side, and an acoustic lens coupled to the first surface of the device substrate and having a larger area than the device substrate in a plan view in a direction orthogonal to the first surface. And the acoustic lens relates to an ultrasonic device unit including an acoustic lens superimposed on the substrate in an outer region of the device substrate in the plan view.
The acoustic lens is superimposed on the substrate outside the device substrate. Therefore, even when an external force acts on the acoustic lens outside the device substrate when the ultrasonic device unit is pressed against the subject, the acoustic lens can be supported by the substrate. The external force is supported by the substrate. Even if the acoustic lens is thinly formed, the curvature of the acoustic lens is avoided. Thus, the durability of the acoustic lens is enhanced.
(2) The ultrasonic device unit may include an adhesive layer that is sandwiched between the acoustic lens and the substrate and fixes the acoustic lens to the substrate. Thus, the acoustic lens is fixed to the substrate. Relative movement between the acoustic lens and the substrate is suppressed. As a result, the durability of the acoustic lens is further improved.
(3) The adhesive layer may be a layer continuous from an acoustic matching layer that is sandwiched between the acoustic lens and the element array and fixes the acoustic lens to the element array. The acoustic matching layer fixes the acoustic lens to the element array. The acoustic matching layer transmits ultrasonic vibrations between the individual thin film ultrasonic transducer elements and the acoustic lens. The adhesive layer can be formed simultaneously with the acoustic matching layer.
(4) The substrate may include a flat portion and a first recess recessed from the flat portion, and the device substrate may be coupled to the first recess. The device substrate is received in the first recess. The device substrate sinks from the plane and is placed on the substrate. In the device substrate thus sunk, the height is suppressed as compared with the case where the device substrate is arranged on a plane. In this way, the ultrasonic device unit can be thinned.
(5) A flexible printed board in which one end of the ultrasonic device unit is overlapped and connected to a part of the first surface of the ultrasonic device substrate, and the other end is overlapped and connected to a part of the flat part. Can be provided. The first surface of the ultrasonic device substrate may be located in a plane including the plane portion or in a plane outside the first recess. Thus, the acoustic lens can be received by the substrate outside the device substrate. In addition, since the bending of the flexible printed board is minimized, the protrusion is suppressed as compared with wire bonding. The ultrasonic device unit can be made thinner than wire bonding. Here, “located in a plane” does not only mean that the first surface exactly matches the plane, but the position of the plane may have a width within a range where the effect is obtained.
(6) The ultrasonic device unit may include a connector connected to the flexible printed board with a through via. A connector can be mounted on the back side of the substrate for external connection of the ultrasonic device unit. In this way, protruding parts are avoided on the front side of the board. The acoustic lens can overlap the substrate. Avoiding the protrusion contributes to the thinning of the ultrasonic device unit.
(7) The acoustic lens may have a plurality of convex portions that are individually fitted into a plurality of second concave portions formed on the substrate on a surface facing the substrate outside the device substrate. . When the ultrasonic device unit is used, the acoustic lens is pressed against the subject. The pressed acoustic lens can be moved along the subject. At this time, a shearing force acts on the acoustic lens in the in-plane direction. The convex portion exhibits an anchor effect with respect to the substrate. In this way, displacement of the acoustic lens on the substrate can be prevented.
(8) At least a part of the plurality of convex portions and at least a part of the plurality of second concave portions are arranged at positions on a line perpendicular to the generatrix of the cylindrical surface with respect to the cylindrical surface of the acoustic lens in the plan view. It only has to be done. The cylindrical surface of the acoustic lens determines the focal position of the ultrasonic wave. Since the convex portion and the second concave portion are arranged in a direction orthogonal to the generatrix of the cylindrical surface, the acoustic lens can be positioned in a direction orthogonal to the generatrix of the cylindrical surface with respect to the device substrate mounted on the substrate. . Thus, the acoustic lens is aligned with the element array on the device substrate. The focal position of the ultrasonic wave is arranged at a specified position. Thus, the convex portion and the second concave portion can contribute to the formation of a clear image.
(9) At least a part of the plurality of convex portions and at least a part of the plurality of second concave portions may form one or more pairs, and the at least one pair of the convex portions and the second concave portion are in the plan view. In other words, it may be arranged at a position sandwiching the cylindrical surface on a line orthogonal to the bus. Thus, the acoustic lens can achieve the anchor effect on both sides of the cylindrical surface. The displacement of the acoustic lens can be reliably prevented.
(10) At least a part of the plurality of protrusions and at least a part of the plurality of second recesses may be arranged in parallel to the generatrix of the cylindrical surface. A gap is formed between the convex portions. Such a gap can function as an adhesive passage when the acoustic lens is bonded. Therefore, the convex portion does not hinder the spread of the adhesive. The adhesive can spread over a wide range without being disturbed by the convex portions.
(11) A part of the plurality of convex portions and a part of the plurality of second concave portions may be disposed at positions on an extension line of the bus bar with respect to the cylindrical surface of the acoustic lens. The acoustic lens is aligned with the element array on the device substrate in the direction of the generatrix of the cylindrical surface.
(12) A part of the plurality of convex parts and a part of the plurality of second concave parts form one or more pairs, and at least one pair of the convex parts and the second concave parts are formed on the bus in the plan view. What is necessary is just to arrange | position in the position which pinches | interposes the said cylindrical surface on the line along. Thus, the acoustic lens can achieve the anchor effect on both sides of the cylindrical surface. The displacement of the acoustic lens can be reliably prevented.
(13) The ultrasonic device unit may be used by being incorporated in a probe. At this time, the probe may include an ultrasonic device unit and a housing that supports the ultrasonic device unit.
(14) The ultrasonic device unit may be used by being incorporated in an electronic apparatus. In this case, the electronic apparatus can include an ultrasonic device unit and a processing unit that is connected to the ultrasonic device unit and processes the output of the ultrasonic device unit.
(15) The ultrasonic device unit may be used by being incorporated in an ultrasonic imaging apparatus. At this time, the ultrasonic imaging apparatus is connected to the ultrasonic device unit, the processing unit that processes the output of the ultrasonic device unit and generates an image, and the display that displays the image Apparatus.

The ultrasonic device unit DV includes a

A

As shown in FIG. 4, the
As shown in FIG. 5, the
On the
As is apparent from FIG. 5, the
As shown in FIG. 6, the convex portion 71 (in combination with the second concave portion 69) is divided into those belonging to the first group FR and those belonging to the second group SD. The convex portions 71 (= 73a) belonging to the first group FR are arranged in a direction perpendicular to the
(3) Operation of Ultrasonic Diagnostic Device Next, the operation of the ultrasonic
The ultrasonic reflected wave vibrates the
Transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves are repeated. As a result, linear scan and sector scan are realized. When the scan is completed, an image is formed based on the digital signal of the output signal. The formed image is displayed on the screen of the
As described above, the
The
In the
When the
In the ultrasonic device unit DV, the
The partial
On the other hand, the
