Description

The present invention relates to a release agent used when peeling and removing a coating film provided on a metal surface and a coating film peeling method.

Metallic materials, including aluminum and magnesium, take advantage of their light weight, corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and other features. Mobile phones, personal computers, housings, electrical appliances, building materials, and automobile and motorcycle lamps. Used in a wide range of fields such as housings.
Such a metal surface is usually coated for the purpose of enhancing the design and improving the durability. However, the coating film formed by painting may be defective or contain foreign matter. Articles in which defects or foreign substances are mixed in the coating film are often discarded without being reused, depending on the application. Therefore, from the viewpoints of resource saving, energy saving, waste reduction, etc., it is required to peel off the coating film in which defects or foreign matters are mixed and reuse the substrate.
For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a release agent composed of monoethanolamine and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and a release agent composed of monoethanolamine and dimethylacetamide as a release agent for removing the coating film. Yes. According to Patent Document 1, it is said that the release agent can satisfactorily release the photosensitive polyimide film on the surface of the substrate.
In Patent Document 2, alkali hydroxide is 0.1% by mass or more and less than 5% by mass, aromatic alcohol is 5 to 93.8% by mass, alkanolamine is 5 to 60% by mass, and glycols are 0.1% by mass. A release agent containing -30% by mass and 1-50% by mass of water is disclosed. According to Patent Document 2, the release agent is said to be able to satisfactorily peel off a coating film made of a melamine paint on the surface of a stainless steel flat test piece.

<Peeling method of coating film>
Next, the peeling method of the coating film of this invention is demonstrated.
The coating film peeling method of the present invention is a method of peeling a coating film provided on the surface of a metal substrate using the above-described release agent.
As an example of the peeling method of the coating film of this invention, the method which has a solution swelling process, a rinse process, and a drying process is mentioned.

(Dissolution swelling process)
The dissolution and swelling step is a step of dissolving or swelling the coating film by bringing a release agent into contact with the coating film provided on the surface of the metal substrate.
The method of bringing the release agent into contact with the coating film is not particularly limited, but the method of immersing the metal substrate provided with the coating film in the release agent, the method of spraying the release agent on the coating film by spraying, showering, etc. Examples include a method of applying a release agent to the coating film using a brush or the like.
The temperature of the release agent is preferably 10 to 90 ° C, and more preferably 20 to 80 ° C. When the temperature of the release agent is equal to or higher than the lower limit value, release performance can be more sufficiently exhibited, and when the temperature is equal to or lower than the upper limit value, discoloration of the surface of the metal substrate can be further suppressed.
The time for bringing the release agent into contact with the coating film is appropriately selected according to the type and film thickness of the coating film, but is usually about 5 minutes to 24 hours.

The dissolution swelling process may be performed a plurality of times. For example, the first dissolution / swelling step is performed by spraying the release agent on the coating film by spraying, showering, etc., and after the elapse of a predetermined time, the second dissolution is sprayed on the coating film again by spraying, showering, etc. A swelling step may be performed.

In the dissolution and swelling process, in order to shorten the time required for peeling of the coating film, it is preferable to perform a peeling acceleration treatment that promotes peeling of the coating film in the middle of the dissolution and swelling process. As the peeling promotion treatment, treatment such as a method of irradiating the coating film with ultrasonic waves, a method of swinging a metal substrate provided with the coating film, a method of stirring the stripping agent in a tank in which the metal substrate is immersed, etc. Is mentioned.

As described above, the release agent of the present invention containing a compound having an amide group, an alkanolamine, and an aromatic alcohol can sufficiently peel the coating film provided on the surface of the metal substrate, and further peels the coating film. When this occurs, discoloration of the surface of the metal substrate can be suppressed.
Moreover, since the release agent of this invention is not alkaline, it is excellent in handleability.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described by way of examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In the examples, “%” means “% by mass” unless otherwise specified.

(Examples 1-13, Comparative Examples 1-3)
Each component was mixed as shown in Tables 1-3, and the release agent of each example was prepared.
Also, a plate made of aluminum alloy (ADC-12, JIS H5302: 2006) (100 mm × 50 mm × 1 mm) or a magnesium alloy (AZ-91D, ASTM B94) plate (100 mm × 50 mm × 1 mm). A metal plate provided with a coating film (a coating film made of an epoxy-based paint, an acrylic paint, or a urethane-based paint) on one side of a metal substrate was prepared.
Next, the metal plate was immersed in a release agent to dissolve and swell the coating film. The temperature of the release agent and the contact time of the release agent were as shown in each table (dissolution swelling process).
Next, the surface of the metal plate was rinsed by pouring water (30 ° C.), the coating film was removed from the surface of the metal plate together with the release agent (rinsing step), and then water was removed by drying (drying step).

<Evaluation method>
The following method evaluated the peelability at the time of peeling a coating film as mentioned above, and the surface state of the metal base material after peeling of a coating film. The evaluation results are shown in Tables 1-3.

[Peelability]
The peelability was evaluated in the following four stages.
The peeled area was calculated by visually counting how many squares of 100 squares were peeled when the coating was divided into 100 squares. For example, when a portion corresponding to 98 squares is peeled out of 100 squares, the peeled area is 98%.
A: The coating film was completely peeled off (peeling area 100%)
○: The coating film was almost peeled off (peeling area 98% or more and less than 100%)
Δ: Slightly remaining coating film (peeling area 95% or more and less than 98%)
X: Remaining coating film is conspicuous (peeling area less than 95%)

[Surface condition of metal substrate]
The surface state of the metal substrate after peeling the coating film was visually observed and evaluated in the following four stages.
In addition, the following discoloration area was calculated by visually counting how many squares of 100 squares were discolored when the coating film was divided into 100 squares. For example, when a portion corresponding to 5 squares in 100 squares is discolored, the discolored area is 5%.
A: There was no discoloration on the surface of the metal substrate (discoloration area 0%)
○: Almost no discoloration on the surface of the metal substrate (discolored area 1% or more and less than 3%)
Δ: Slightly discolored metal substrate surface (discolored area 3% or more and less than 5%)
X: Discoloration on the surface of the metal substrate is conspicuous (discoloration area of 5% or more)
