Abstract
Description
本発明は、パティキュレートフィルタに関する。詳しくは、ディーゼルエンジン等の内燃機関から排出される排ガス中の粒子状物質を捕集するパティキュレートフィルタに関する。 The present invention relates to a particulate filter. More specifically, the present invention relates to a particulate filter that collects particulate matter in exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine.
一般に、内燃機関から排出される排ガスには、炭素を主成分とする粒子状物質(PM:Particulate Matter)、不燃成分からなるアッシュなどが含まれ、大気汚染の原因となることが知られている。そのため、粒子状物質の排出量については、排ガスに含まれる炭化水素(HC)、一酸化炭素(CO)、窒素酸化物(NOx)などの有害成分とともに年々規制が強化されている。そこで、これらの粒子状物質を排ガスから捕集して除去するための技術が提案されている。 In general, exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine contains particulate matter (PM) containing carbon as a main component, ash composed of incombustible components, and the like, and is known to cause air pollution. . For this reason, regulations on particulate matter emissions are being strengthened year by year along with harmful components such as hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) contained in exhaust gas. Thus, a technique for collecting and removing these particulate substances from the exhaust gas has been proposed.
For example, a particulate filter for collecting the particulate matter is provided in the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine. For example, in a diesel engine, a diesel particulate filter (Diesel Particulate Filter: DPF) is mounted in the exhaust passage in order to discharge a certain amount of particulate matter together with exhaust gas. As the particulate filter, there is known a structure called a wall flow type in which the base material is composed of a large number of cells made of a porous material, and the inlets and outlets of the numerous cells are alternately closed (Patent Document 1). 2). In the wall flow type particulate filter, the exhaust gas flowing in from the cell inlet passes through the partitioned porous cell partition wall and is discharged to the cell outlet. Then, while the exhaust gas passes through the porous cell partition walls, the particulate matter is trapped in the pores inside the partition walls.
In recent years, in order to further improve the purification performance, it has been studied to give the filter a NOx purification ability. For example, an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalyst that selectively reduces NOx in exhaust gas by a reducing action such as ammonia has been proposed (Patent Document 3). One typical configuration of the SCR catalyst includes a catalyst layer having a configuration in which the SCR catalyst is held together with a binder on the surface of the filter substrate. For example, as the SCR catalyst used for the catalyst layer, zeolite such as ZSM-5 type may be mentioned. Moreover, an alumina sol is mentioned as a binder used for a catalyst layer. When a reducing agent solution (for example, urea water) is supplied to a filter having such a catalyst layer, ammonia is generated by hydrolysis of the reducing agent solution. This ammonia is adsorbed on the SCR catalyst, and NOx in the exhaust gas is purified by the reducing action of the adsorbed ammonia (for example, 4NH 3 + 2NO 2 + 2NO → 4N 2 + 6H 2 O).
As described above, in one typical configuration of the SCR catalyst, a catalyst layer is formed on the surface of the filter base material, and zeolite (SCR catalyst) is held on the catalyst layer by alumina (binder). However, according to the knowledge of the present inventor, when alumina is used as the binder, nitrate (for example, NO 3 − ) may be generated at the base point of alumina. The formation of this nitrate inhibits the reducing action of the ammonia, and the nitrate reacts with ammonia, so that ammonia necessary for NOx purification is consumed.
本発明は、これらの事案に鑑みてなされたものであり、その主な目的は、SCR触媒を備えたパティキュレートフィルタにおいて、排ガス中のNOxを効率よく浄化することができるパティキュレートフィルタを提供することである。 The present invention has been made in view of these cases, and its main object is to provide a particulate filter that can efficiently purify NOx in exhaust gas in a particulate filter including an SCR catalyst. That is.
The particulate filter of the present invention is a particulate filter that is disposed in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and collects particulate matter (PM) in exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine. And a catalyst layer formed on the surface of the material. The catalyst layer includes a first component (which can function mainly as an SCR catalyst) made of phosphate zeolite that adsorbs ammonia and reduces NOx in the exhaust gas, and a second component (mainly a silica component). Can function as a binder). And mass ratio (1st component / 2nd component) of the said 1st component and the said 2nd component is 1-30. According to this configuration, the high catalytic activity of the SCR catalyst is exhibited, and NOx in the exhaust gas can be efficiently purified.
The mass ratio between the first component and the second component (first component / second component) is generally 1 or more and 30 or less. If the mass ratio is too large, the effect of improving the NOx purification performance due to the combined use of phosphate-based zeolite and silica may not be sufficiently obtained. If the mass ratio is too small, the content of the first component Is relatively lowered to reduce the amount of the SCR catalyst, the catalytic activity obtained by the SCR catalyst may be insufficient. Accordingly, the mass ratio (first component / second component) is suitably about 1 or more and 30 or less, preferably 6 or more and 25 or less, and particularly preferably 10 or more and 20 or less.
In a preferred embodiment of the particulate filter disclosed herein, 12% or more of the total pore volume of the catalyst layer is pores having a pore diameter of 10 μm or less. A pore having a pore diameter of 10 μm or less is excellent in PM trapping ability. Therefore, high PM collection efficiency can be achieved by setting the ratio of pores having a diameter of 10 μm or less to 12% or more of the total pore volume. In a preferred embodiment, the catalyst layer has a porosity of 50% to 70%. If the porosity of the catalyst layer is within such a range, an effect of suppressing an increase in pressure loss can be obtained without impairing the PM collection efficiency.
ここで開示されるパティキュレートフィルタの好ましい一態様では、前記基材は、排ガス流入側の端部のみが開口した入側セルと、該入側セルに隣接し排ガス流出側の端部のみが開口した出側セルと、前記入側セルと前記出側セルとを仕切る多孔質の隔壁とを有するウォールフロー構造の基材である。そして、前記隔壁の内部に前記触媒層が形成されている。隔壁の内部に触媒層を形成することで、圧損の上昇を有効に抑制することができる。 In a preferred aspect of the particulate filter disclosed herein, the base material has an inlet cell in which only an end portion on the exhaust gas inflow side is opened, and an end portion on the exhaust gas outlet side adjacent to the inlet side cell is opened. And a porous partition wall that partitions the entry side cell and the exit side cell. The catalyst layer is formed inside the partition wall. By forming the catalyst layer inside the partition wall, the increase in pressure loss can be effectively suppressed.
In a preferred aspect of the particulate filter disclosed herein, the catalyst layer comprises a slurry obtained by mixing and pulverizing a slurry obtained by mixing zeolite particles comprising the first component, silica particles comprising the second component, and a solvent. It is formed by applying (coating) to a material. And the average particle diameter of the mixed particle of the said zeolite particle and the said silica particle contained in the slurry after the said grinding | pulverization process is 1 micrometer or more and 6 micrometers or less. If the average particle size of the mixed particles is too small, the crystal structure of the zeolite may be destroyed, and the catalyst performance may tend to decrease. On the other hand, if the average particle size of the mixed particles is too large, the slurry cannot be applied (coated) inside the partition walls, and pressure loss may increase.
また、本発明によると、上述したパティキュレートフィルタを備えた排ガス浄化装置が提供される。すなわち、この排ガス浄化装置は、ここで開示される何れかのパティキュレートフィルタと、前記パティキュレートフィルタよりも前記排気通路の上流からアンモニアを生成するための還元剤溶液を供給する還元剤溶液供給手段とを備える。この構成によれば、NOx性能がより良く向上した排ガス浄化装置を提供することができる。 In addition, according to the present invention, an exhaust gas purifying apparatus including the above-described particulate filter is provided. 図1に示すように、本実施形態の排ガス浄化装置100は、内燃機関としてのディーゼルエンジン1に適用されたものである。まず、ディーゼルエンジン1の構成を簡単に説明する。なお、以下に説明するディーゼルエンジン1は、本発明の内燃機関の一例に過ぎない。本発明の排ガス浄化装置は、以下に説明するディーゼルエンジン1以外の内燃機関(例えばガソリンエンジン等)にも適用することができる。
As shown in FIG. 1, an exhaust
The

The oxidation catalyst (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst: DOC) 20 is a catalyst having an oxidation function for components (for example, CO and HC) in exhaust gas, and is a monolith carrying a noble metal catalyst such as Pt (platinum) or rhodium (Rh). It is formed from a catalyst. However, the type of the
フィルタ10は、酸化触媒20よりも排気管3の下流側に配置されている。図2は、フィルタ10の斜視図である。フィルタ10は、排ガスに含まれる粒子状物質(PM)を捕集可能な多孔質フィルタであり、PMの通過不能な多数の細孔が設けられている。また、フィルタ10は、SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction:選択的接触還元)触媒を担持することで、排ガス中の窒素酸化物(NOx)を浄化するものとして構成されている。
The
As shown in FIG. 1, the reducing agent solution supply means 50 is disposed on the upstream side of the

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the

<触媒層>

The

The
<Mass ratio of first component / second component>
In the
In carrying out the present invention, in the
As shown in FIGS. 5 (a) and (b), when alumina (shown as Al in the figure) is used as the second component, alumina is an amphoteric oxide and has more base points than silica. Nitrogen oxide (for example, NO 3 − ) is adsorbed at the base point, and the reduction action of ammonia (for example, 4NH 3 + 2NO 2 + 2NO → 4N 2 + 6H 2 O) is inhibited. Further, since the nitrate reacts with ammonia to produce ammonium nitrate, the ammonia necessary for NOx purification is consumed, which may be a factor in reducing the NOx purification performance.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 6, when silica (shown as Si in the figure) is used as the second component, silica is an acidic oxide and has fewer basic points than alumina (acid points are lower). Therefore, the adsorption of nitrate (for example, NO 3 − ) as in the case of using alumina is suppressed, and the disadvantage that ammonia is consumed due to the nitrate can be solved. Moreover, since the hydrolysis of the reducing agent solution (for example, urea water) occurs efficiently through the acid sites of silica, the reactivity of the reducing agent solution is improved and the production rate of ammonia is accelerated. A large amount of NOx can be purified in a short time by the ammonia moving to the surface of the phosphate-based zeolite (spillover). In other words, by using phosphate zeolite and silica together in the above mass ratio, ammonia is efficiently transferred from silica to phosphate zeolite, and hydrolysis (production of ammonia) on silica → ammonia It is considered that a high NOx purification performance is exhibited as compared with the conventional art by synergistically exhibiting a series of actions and effects such as movement of phosphine → purification with phosphate-based zeolite.
In the
ここで開示される触媒層18のコート量(成形量)としては、50g/L〜150g/L程度が適当であり、70g/L〜100g/L程度が好ましい。ここで触媒単位容積(1L)は、基材の純容積に加えて内部の空隙(セル)容積を含む(即ち当該空隙(セル)内に形成された触媒層を含む)嵩容積(1L)をいう。
The coating amount (molding amount) of the

Furthermore, the presence or absence of nitrate formation was examined for the filter catalyst of each example. Specifically, using the powder of the second component used in the filter catalyst of each example, a gas containing NOx (NO (200 ppm), NO 2 (200 ppm), O 2 (10%), and others are He). It was made to distribute | circulate at 100 mL / min, the FT-IR spectrum measurement was performed at 200 degreeC, and the presence or absence of the production | generation of nitrate was investigated. Here, the presence or absence of a peak at 1300-1600 cm −1 due to NO 3 − was examined. The results are shown in the corresponding column of Table 1. As shown in Table 1, in Comparative Examples 3 and 4 the second component is composed mainly of alumina, NO 3 in FT-IR spectrum - while peaks due to was observed, the second component is a silica In Examples 1 to 4 as the main component, no peak due to NO 3 − was observed.
The NOx purification ability of the filter catalyst of each example was evaluated. An injector was installed on the upstream side of the exhaust pipe from the filter catalyst, and urea water was added as a reducing agent solution for generating ammonia from the injector. Here, the NOx purification rate (%) was calculated by “(NOx concentration of catalyst-containing gas (ppm) −NOx concentration of catalyst output gas (ppm)) / NOx concentration of catalyst-containing gas (ppm)” × 100. The results are shown in the corresponding column of Table 1. The results of Examples 1 to 3 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 are shown in FIG. 7, and the results of Examples 1 and 4 and Comparative Examples 3 and 4 are shown in FIG.

Specifically, the filter catalyst of each example was attached to the exhaust pipe of a 2L diesel engine, and PM passing through the catalyst was measured with a PM measuring instrument. The results are shown in the corresponding column of Table 1. Moreover, the pressure loss of the filter catalyst of each example was evaluated. Specifically, air was circulated at 5 m 3 / min in the exhaust gas distribution direction with respect to the filter catalyst of each example. And the pressure sensor was attached before and behind the filter catalyst, and the difference of the measured value of two pressure sensors was made into the pressure loss. The results are shown in the corresponding column of Table 1.
As shown in Table 1 and FIG. 8, the filter catalysts of Examples 1 to 4 in which the second component is mainly composed of silica are compared with the filter catalysts of Comparative Examples 3 and 4 in which the second component is mainly composed of alumina. Thus, the NOx purification rate was high and the NOx purification performance was excellent. Moreover, as shown in Table 1 and FIG. 7, the filter catalyst of Examples 1-4 which made the mass ratio of a 1st component and a 2nd component in the range of 1-30, the said mass ratio is less than 1, or Compared with the filter catalysts of Comparative Examples 1 and 2 exceeding 30, the NOx purification rate was remarkably improved, and the pressure loss and the number of PM traps were also good. From this result, it is appropriate that the mass ratio of the first component to the second component is approximately in the range of 1 to 30, preferably 6 to 25.

<Example 9>
Except that the coating amount of the catalyst layer was 140 g / L, the porosity of the catalyst layer was 48%, and the ratio of pores having a pore diameter of 10 μm or less to the total pore volume of the catalyst layer was 26%. A filter catalyst was obtained in the same procedure as in Example 1. The properties of the filter catalyst of Example 9 are shown in the corresponding column of Table 2.
各例のフィルタ触媒について、試験例1と同様の手順で圧損、PM捕集数およびNOx浄化率を測定した。結果を表2の該当欄および図9に示す。 For the filter catalyst of each example, the pressure loss, the number of PM traps, and the NOx purification rate were measured in the same procedure as in Test Example 1. The results are shown in the corresponding column of Table 2 and FIG.
表2および図9から明らかなように、粉砕処理後のスラリーに含まれるゼオライト粒子とシリカ粒子との混合粒子の平均粒径が小さすぎても大きすぎても、NOx浄化率は低下傾向を示した。ここで供試したフィルタ触媒の場合、上記混合粒子の平均粒径を2μm〜5μmとすることによって、68%以上という極めて高いNOx浄化率を達成できた。この結果から、上記混合粒子の平均粒径は2μm〜5μmの範囲内とすることが好ましい。 As is apparent from Table 2 and FIG. 9, the NOx purification rate tends to decrease even if the average particle size of the mixed particles of zeolite particles and silica particles contained in the slurry after pulverization is too small or too large. It was. In the case of the filter catalyst used here, an extremely high NOx purification rate of 68% or more could be achieved by setting the average particle diameter of the mixed particles to 2 μm to 5 μm. From this result, the average particle diameter of the mixed particles is preferably in the range of 2 μm to 5 μm.
