Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a plasma generator. More specifically, the present invention relates to a plasma generator that can be suitably used for plasma processing of a fluid and can stably generate microwave-excited plasma.
In recent years, plasma treatment using in-liquid plasma has attracted attention as one of liquid treatment processes such as wastewater purification treatment. In-liquid plasma typically refers to the generation of bubbles by heating the liquid phase in the liquid to be treated, etc., and inducing continuous ionization of gas molecules inside the bubbles (gas phase). Plasma is generated. The plasma active species generated inside the bubbles come into contact with an object to be processed such as a contaminant, so that the contaminant can be decomposed and rendered harmless. Here, in order to cause dielectric breakdown of the liquid itself to be treated, for example, a high electric field strength of about several MV / cm is required with water, but the dielectric breakdown voltage of bubbles in the liquid is about 30 kV / cm. Therefore, highly efficient plasma processing can be performed with such submerged plasma. In order to further lower the discharge start voltage of plasma in liquid, a reduced pressure region is formed in the liquid, and plasma is generated in this reduced pressure region. For example,
As described above, according to the plasma in liquid, although the energy for generating the plasma is reduced, it is still necessary to input a large amount of energy, and the liquid to be treated is heated by such input energy, resulting in energy loss. There was a problem of being big. In addition, in the technology for generating plasma in a minute region in a liquid, the electrode for generating plasma is consumed at a high cost, and in addition, the plasma generation region is limited to a narrow range, and many at once. The liquid could not be processed. Furthermore, in order to keep the plasma generated in the liquid stable, it is necessary to perform processing mainly in a batch system, which is not suitable for inline processing.
The present invention has been created to solve the above-described conventional problems, and has an object of being able to be suitably used for fluid plasma processing and capable of stably generating microwave-excited plasma. Is to provide a simple plasma generator. Another object of the present invention is to provide a fluid processing apparatus using such a plasma generator.
The present inventor provides a plasma generator as a solution to the above problems. Such a plasma generating device is provided in the flow path through which the fluid flows, the plasma generation space that communicates with the flow path and extends outside in the direction orthogonal to the flow direction of the fluid, the plasma generation space, An annular plasma generator disposed apart from the road in the orthogonal direction and a microwave introduction unit that propagates microwaves to the plasma generator. Here, the plasma generating part is constituted by a pair of annular convex parts arranged to face each other with a gap. Then, the plasma generation apparatus is configured to cause the gaseous fluid generated in the plasma generation space, which has been depressurized by the fluid flowing through the flow path, to be generated by the microwave introduced from the microwave introduction unit. It is characterized in that it is turned into plasma at the generator.
As described above, this plasma generator includes an annular plasma generator in a plasma generation space provided so as to surround the flow path. The plasma generation space is naturally decompressed by the fluid flowing through the flow path. The fluid flowing through the flow path is introduced as a gas into the reduced-pressure plasma generation space. As a result, the plasma generating portion constituted by the pair of annular convex portions is not immersed in the fluid, and is not directly affected by the state of the fluid flow field, so that the plasma generating portion is plasma. Plasma can be generated stably in the generation space. Preferably, such a plasma generation unit itself forms a slot antenna, thereby reducing wear associated with plasma generation.
Furthermore, such a plasma generator uses microwaves for plasma excitation, and has the same input energy as that of, for example, high frequency (typically, radio waves having a frequency of 1 MHz or more) excitation plasma used in conventional plasma excitation. It is possible to excite a dense plasma. Further, since the electron temperature in the plasma is low and the energy is small, consumption of plasma peripheral members such as electrodes is suppressed.
In addition, since the plasma generation space is in a reduced pressure state, the discharge start voltage is lowered. Such a reduced pressure state can be further reduced by increasing the flow rate of the fluid flowing through the flow path. Therefore, plasma can be generated with a smaller input power. In addition, the active species in the plasma generated under a reduced pressure environment can maintain a long life because the collision frequency between particles is reduced. Therefore, higher concentration plasma can be generated without deactivating such active species. As a result, the generated plasma active species are uniformly supplied to the flow path at a high concentration, and the plasma active species can be brought into contact with a large amount of fluid per unit time.
In this specification, “microwave” means a radio wave (ultrashort wave) having a wavelength of 1 m to 100 μm and a frequency of 300 MHz to 3 THz, and includes a decimeter wave (UHF), a centimeter wave (SHF), a millimeter wave ( EHF), submillimeter wave and the like.
In a preferred aspect of the plasma generator disclosed herein, the pressure of the fluid flowing in the vicinity of the communication portion between the flow path and the plasma generation space is configured to be 200 hPa or less.
The plasma discharge starting power is pressure-dependent, and it is possible to emit plasma with a small amount of energy with low environmental pressure. Moreover, the energy required for vaporizing the liquid can also be reduced. According to such a configuration, much of the energy input by the microwave can be used as plasma generation energy, and plasma can be generated with less input energy.
In a preferable aspect of the plasma generator disclosed herein, the flow path has a cross-sectional area that decreases from the upstream side in the flow direction toward the communication portion.
That is, the flow path has a shape in which the cross-sectional area is reduced and constricted at the communication portion with the plasma generation space. In other words, the channel on the upstream side of the communication portion with the plasma generation space is configured to have a wider cross-sectional area. Thereby, this flow path acts as a venturi tube, and a low pressure region is formed in the communication portion (constricted portion). In addition, the plasma generation space communicating with the communicating portion is further depressurized. Therefore, plasma can be generated with a smaller amount of energy, and plasma generation efficiency can be increased. Further, by making the flow path upstream from the communicating portion thicker, a high flow rate fluid can flow through the flow path.

According to this configuration, the amount of fluid flowing in the flow path, the flow velocity, and the like can be controlled in detail. As a result, a high-density plasma can be generated more stably.

In a preferred aspect of the plasma generator disclosed herein, a dielectric portion is further provided in at least a part of the inside of the microwave introduction portion and on the outer peripheral side of the flow path and the plasma generation space. It is provided.

And a plurality of rectangular waveguides. Here, the plurality of rectangular waveguides are arranged at symmetrical positions (axially symmetrical positions) around the tube axis of the circular waveguide. The flow path, the plasma generation space, and the plasma generation section are provided inside each rectangular waveguide. According to such a configuration, a plurality of plasma generation units can be provided for one microwave introduction unit, and a plasma generation apparatus capable of generating a larger amount of plasma with a small amount of input energy is realized.

And the said flow path in the said plasma generator is connected with the said circulation path, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
According to such a fluid processing apparatus, it is possible to stably generate plasma in a plasma generation space around a fluid that is an object to be processed in the plasma generation apparatus. Thereby, plasma processing can be performed stably and efficiently with less energy. In still another aspect, the present invention provides a fluid processing method. Hereinafter, the plasma processing method of the present invention will be described. Note that matters other than matters specifically mentioned in the present specification and necessary for the implementation of the present invention (general matters relating to each component of the plasma generating apparatus) are based on the prior art in this field. It can be grasped as a design matter of a person skilled in the art. The present invention can be carried out based on the contents disclosed in this specification and the drawings and common general technical knowledge in the field. Note that the dimensional relationship (length, width, thickness, etc.) in each drawing does not reflect the actual dimensional relationship.
<First Embodiment>
Hereinafter, although one embodiment of the plasma generator concerning the present invention is described concretely, it is not intended that the present invention be limited to this form. FIG. 1 is a block diagram schematically showing a plasma generator according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The

In the
In addition, it is known that the discharge start voltage has a pressure dependency, and the dielectric breakdown voltage decreases in a low pressure environment. Therefore, it is possible to generate plasma at a lower voltage in the decompressed

In the
In the
Moreover, since the
Furthermore, the active species of the plasma generated in the
In the
Such a reduction in the cross-sectional area can be appropriately designed according to a desired fluid flow rate and a reduced pressure state of the
In order to reduce the cross-sectional area of the

The microwave generator generates a microwave having a predetermined frequency and propagates it to the waveguide. Such a microwave generation unit can be configured by, for example, a klystron, a magnetron, a gyrotron, or the like. Although the frequency of the generated microwave is not strictly limited, for example, it can be in the range of 300 MHz to 3 THz. Specifically, for example, 433 MHz, 2.45 GHz, 5.8 GHz, etc. are exemplified. By exciting the plasma with microwaves generated by such a microwave generation unit, for example, compared with the case of introducing a high frequency (typically, a radio wave having a frequency of 1 MHz or more), a dense plasma with the same input energy is produced. Can be excited. Further, since plasma generated by microwaves has a low electron temperature and low energy, consumption of plasma peripheral members such as a

[Plasma generator]

Second Embodiment
Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a fluid processing apparatus and a fluid processing method using the above-described plasma generator according to the present invention will be described. However, it is not intended that the present invention be limited to such a form. FIG. 3 is a configuration diagram schematically showing a fluid processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.
A
In such a configuration, since the

<Third Embodiment>
Hereinafter, other embodiments relating to the configuration of the
<Fourth embodiment>
Hereinafter, still another embodiment relating to the configuration of the

<試験例>
マイクロ波の出力条件は、進行波出力Pf(forward power):955W、反射波出力Pr(reflected power):73Wとなるよう調整した。
<Test example>
Using the fluid treatment apparatus having the configuration shown in the second embodiment, MB was decomposed by plasma treatment using a methylene blue (MB) aqueous solution as a fluid to be treated. Specifically, first, 8 L of an 8 mg / L aqueous MB solution was prepared by dissolving methylene blue (C 16 H 18 ClN 3 S, Kishida Chemical Co., Ltd., 000-494724) in pure water and supplied to the storage tank. . In a state where the MB aqueous solution was circulated through the flow path of the fluid processing apparatus at a flow rate of 13.7 L / min, a microwave was introduced into the plasma generation unit to generate plasma. The microwave output conditions were adjusted to be traveling wave output Pf (forward power): 955 W and reflected wave output Pr (reflected power): 73 W. The water temperature of the MB aqueous solution was appropriately maintained at 28 ± 3 ° C. in a storage tank using a cooler. And the decomposition | disassembly condition of MB by the generated microwave plasma was evaluated by investigating the time-dependent change of MB density | concentration of MB aqueous solution of a storage tank.
As for MB concentration, a predetermined amount of MB aqueous solution is collected at intervals of 5 minutes from the start of plasma irradiation, and the maximum absorbance peak of methylene blue near 655 nm is measured with an ultraviolet / visible absorption (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. I examined it. The result is shown in FIG. The vertical axis in FIG. 6 indicates the rate of decrease in concentration relative to the initial concentration of the MB aqueous solution as the MB decomposition rate (%).
For comparison, the microwave plasma generated under the same output conditions is (b) when the MB aqueous solution is irradiated by the batch processing method, and (c) ultrasonic irradiation with an output of 500 W is applied to the batch processing. Also in the case of using together, the decomposition rate (%) of MB was examined, and the results are also shown as (b) and (c) in FIG. The MB concentration was measured at an interval of 10 minutes from the start of plasma irradiation.
n=n0×exp(−αH) …(1)
As shown in FIG. 6A, the maximum absorbance peak of methylene blue near 655 nm is lowered with the plasma treatment using the fluid treatment device disclosed herein, and methylene blue is decomposed. I was able to confirm fading. In addition, compared with the plasma batch processing method (b) and the method (c) using both batch processing and ultrasonic irradiation, it is possible to decompose MB more efficiently with the same microwave generation energy. confirmed.
Therefore, the state of MB decomposition was quantitatively evaluated by calculating the pseudo first order reaction rate constant (α) based on the decomposition model based on the following equation (1).
n = n 0 × exp (−αH) (1)
Here, in the formula (1), n 0 is the initial MB concentration (8 mg / L), and n is the methylene blue concentration at the plasma irradiation time (sampling time) t. H is the microwave energy introduced per unit volume, and H = 59.7 kWh / m 3 was extrapolated. The obtained reaction rate constant (decomposition rate constant) (α) is shown in Table 1 below.
As can be seen from Table 1, according to the continuous processing type fluid processing apparatus disclosed herein, the reaction constant α is increased by approximately two orders of magnitude compared to the batch processing method, and batch processing and ultrasonic irradiation are used in combination. Even compared with the method, the reaction constant α was higher by one digit or more. Therefore, according to the continuous processing type fluid processing apparatus disclosed herein, plasma can be generated efficiently with the same energy, and the generated plasma can be introduced into the processing fluid well without being deactivated. It was confirmed that the plasma treatment of the fluid can be performed very efficiently.
Next, using the same fluid processing apparatus as described above, the flow rate (flow velocity) of the MB aqueous solution was changed to (1) 13.7 L / min, (2) 11 L / min, (3) 9 L / min, and other conditions were the same Then, plasma treatment was performed. The MB decomposition state by the plasma treatment was examined, and the result is shown in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 7, according to the fluid treatment device disclosed herein, it was found that the MB decomposition efficiency increases as the flow rate of the MB aqueous solution is increased. Therefore, the number of processing cycles of the MB aqueous solution under such conditions (processing flow rate × processing time ÷ processing volume = 67.8 cycles) on the basis of the case of processing for 60 minutes at the lowest flow rate (3) 9 L / min. The processing time required to reach the value and the MB decomposition rate at that time were examined. The results are shown in Table 2 below.
As shown in Table 2, when the flow rate was increased, the MB decomposition rate per cycle was increased, and it was confirmed that more efficient fluid treatment was possible. That is, according to the fluid processing apparatus disclosed herein, microwave-excited plasma is not generated in the fluid. Further, by increasing the cycle speed, the flow rate of the fluid is increased and the pressure in the plasma generation space can be further reduced. That is, it is possible to generate a plasma with a higher concentration per unit energy. Therefore, even when the flow rate of the fluid is increased, it is possible to stably generate a higher concentration plasma with good uniformity. Thus, it has been shown that stable and higher-efficiency plasma processing can be performed by using the fluid processing apparatus disclosed herein.
As mentioned above, although this invention was demonstrated by suitable embodiment, such description is not a limitation matter and of course various modifications are possible.
