Description

The present invention relates to a terminal connector for electrically connecting an electrical component such as a relay mounted on a vehicle to a power supply device and an electrical load, and an electrical junction box.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in vehicles and the like, an electrical junction box is used that mounts various electrical components and connects the electrical components to an electrical circuit. For example, an electrical junction box is equipped with a relay as an electrical component, and the relay is connected to an electrical circuit between a power supply device and an electrical load. The power supply device is a lead battery, a lithium ion battery, or the like, and the electric load is a lighting device mounted on a vehicle or the like, an electric window opening / closing device, an air conditioner, a motor of a traveling drive system in an electric vehicle, or the like. In recent years, the number of electrical loads has increased due to diversification of functions of vehicles and the like, and the number of relays tends to increase. Furthermore, with an increase in the number of relays and an increase in the size of the relay, the scale of the connection structure for connecting the relay to the electric circuit between the power supply device and the electric load tends to increase.

Patent Document 1 describes a terminal connector for relay-connecting terminals of electrical components and the like. This terminal connector has a terminal part and a tab part integrally formed with the terminal part. A terminal insertion portion to which a male connection terminal can be connected is provided at the upper end portion of the terminal portion. Similarly, a terminal insertion portion is provided at the lower end portion of the terminal portion. The tab portion is composed of a base portion extending from the lower end of the terminal portion and a tab piece formed by bending the tip of the base portion. By inserting and connecting the tab pieces of one terminal connector to the terminal insertion part of another terminal connector, the terminal connectors can be connected without depending on the bus bar.

However, since the terminal connector described in Patent Document 1 has the tab portion integrally formed with the terminal portion, the length of the base portion in the tab portion varies depending on the type of electrical component such as a relay or circuit configuration. When a type of terminal connector is required, a punching die for molding must be prepared according to each type, resulting in a high cost.

Particularly in vehicles such as electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, a large current of several hundred amperes flows from the power supply device and a high voltage of several hundred volts is applied. Therefore, a tab portion or the like is provided so that the terminal connector can withstand the high voltage. When the thickness dimension of the board | plate material to form is enlarged, there also existed a problem that the terminal insertion part of a terminal part might deform | transform by bending of a tab part.

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and while connecting an electrical component to a power supply device and an electrical load, etc., having a branch conductor reduces the amount of bus bar used and suppresses the manufacturing cost. Through holes 26a and 26b are provided on the bottom surfaces of the housings 16a and 16b, respectively. The through holes 26a and 26b are long holes so that the terminals at both ends of the resistor 74 are inserted. Two terminals (not shown) of the resistor 74 are inserted through the through holes 26a and 26b, respectively.

The terminal connector 5 has variations of the terminal connectors 5a to 5d. FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing an appearance of the terminal connector 5a, and FIG. 6 is a longitudinal side view of the terminal connector 5a. The terminal connector 5a includes a cylindrical body 51, a locking piece 52, a branch conductor 54, and a connecting piece 55, and each component is made of a conductive material. The cylinder 51 is a rectangular tube having a rectangular cross section, and the axial direction is the same direction as the direction in which the terminal 71a of the relay 71 projects from the surface of the relay 71. The terminal 71a of the relay 71 is inserted into the cylinder 51 from the one end 51a side of the cylinder 51, and one end of the connection piece 55 is inserted from the other end 51b side.

The locking piece 52 bends a strip-shaped plate member continuous to the one end 51a side of the one side wall 51c of the cylindrical body 51 so as to approach the opposing side wall 51d facing the one side wall 51c, and further to the one side wall 51c side. Bent to head toward. By bending in this way, the locking piece 52 has a slight gap between the opposing side wall 51d and the first locking portion 52a in the middle part approached with a slight gap between the opposing side wall 51d. A second locking portion 52b is formed at the tip portion approached with a gap.

The branch conductor 54 is made of a conductive plate bent in a C shape, and is fixed to the outer surface of the one side wall 51 c of the cylinder 51 by welding or soldering, and is provided so as to protrude to the side of the cylinder 51. Yes. The branch conductor 54 has a base portion 54a, an extending portion 54b, and a tip connection portion 54c. The base 54a is provided along the one side wall 51c of the cylinder 51, and is fixed to the outer surface of the one side wall 51c by welding or soldering, so that the base 54a is mechanically and electrically connected to the cylinder 51. The extending portion 54b is continuous with the end portion of the base portion 54a, and extends to the side of the cylindrical body 51 perpendicular to the base portion 54a. The tip connection portion 54c is continuous with the end portion of the extending portion 54b and is orthogonal to the extending portion 54b.

The tip connection portion 54c shown in FIG. 5 has a width of the tip connection portion 54c narrower than the width of the base portion 54a and the extending portion 54b and is opposed to the base portion 54a in order to connect to another terminal connector arranged in parallel. It is provided as follows. Depending on the arrangement of other terminal connectors, the end connection portion 54c is bent at the end of the extending portion 54b to the opposite side to the case shown in FIG. 5 so that the branch conductor 54 has a Z-shape as a whole. Also good.

The connection piece 55 is a conductive plate having a rectangular shape, one end of which is inserted into the cylinder 51 from the other end 51b side of the cylinder 51, and a gap between the second locking part 52b and the one side wall 51c. It is locked to. The connecting piece 55 projects upward from the other end 51 b of the cylindrical body 51 while being locked to the cylindrical body 51, passes through the lid plate 30 of the upper lid 3, and is a connector housing provided on the outer surface of the lid plate 30. Projects into 31a.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing the appearance of another type of terminal connector 5b. The terminal body 5a and 5b are the same in the cylindrical body 51, the locking piece 52, and the connecting piece 55 except that the shape of the branch conductor 54 is different. In the terminal connector 5b, the branch conductor 54 is not provided with the tip connection part 54c for connecting to another terminal connector. The terminal connector 5 b is used by connecting another bus bar, an electric wire, or the like to the extending portion 54 b of the branch conductor 54. Connection of other bus bars, electric wires, and the like to the extending portion 54b may be performed by soldering, or a nut or the like may be attached to the extending portion 54b to provide a screw hole and screwed.

Further, another type of terminal connector 5c (see FIG. 2) has a cylindrical body 51, a locking piece 52, and a connecting piece 55c, and does not have a branch conductor 54. The shape of the connection piece 55 c is a Z-shape different from the shape of the connection piece 55. The terminal connector 5c is connected by inserting one end of the connection piece 55c into the cylindrical body 51 from above. The other end of the connection piece 55c penetrates the lid plate 30 of the upper lid 3 at a position offset from the cylindrical body 51 in the in-plane direction, and projects into the connector housing 31c provided on the outer surface of the lid plate 30. . Another type of terminal connector 5d has a cylindrical body 51, a locking piece 52, and a connecting piece 55, and does not have a branch conductor 54.

FIG. 8 is a perspective view of the electrical junction box 100 with the top lid 3 removed. The terminal connectors 5 a to 5 d are respectively inserted into the housings 12 a to 12 d of the connector housing portions 12 provided on the support plate 11 in the casing 1, mounted in the casing 1, and supported by the support plate 11. Similarly, a terminal connector (not shown) composed of the cylindrical body 51 and the locking piece 52 is inserted and mounted in each of the housings of the other connector housing parts 13 to 16. In addition, the connection piece of the shape according to the routing path is inserted and locked to the terminal connection tool attached to the connection tool accommodating parts 13-16.

FIG. 9 is a schematic diagram showing a circuit configuration of the electronic junction box 100. The energization terminal 71a of the relay 71 is connected to the energization terminal 73b of the relay 73 by the branch conductor 54 of the terminal connector 5a. The energization terminal 73 a of the relay 73 is connected to the terminal 74 a on one end side of the resistor 74 using the conductive connection piece 81. A terminal 74 b on the other end side of the resistor 74 is connected to the energization terminal 71 b of the relay 71 using the bus bar 82. The bus bar 82 is electrically connected to the extending portion 54b of the branch conductor 54 in the terminal connector 5b by soldering or the like. A circuit in which the relay 73 and the resistor 74 are connected in series functions as a precharge circuit.

One end of a plate-like connection piece that is appropriately bent according to the routing path is connected to the control terminals 71c and 71d of the relay 71 and the control terminals 72c and 72d of the relay 72. The other end of the connection piece is inserted through a through hole provided in the bottom surface of the connector housing of the connector portion 32 and protrudes into the connector housing. Similarly, one end of a plate-like connection piece bent appropriately according to the routing route is connected to the control terminals 73c and 73d of the relay 73, and the other end of the connection piece is connected to the connector housing of the connector 33. To protrude.

When the relay 71 is inserted into the casing 1 from below and attached, the energization terminal 71a is inserted into the through hole 22a and protrudes into the housing 12a, and the energization terminal 71b is inserted into the through hole 22b and into the housing 12b. Protruding. The leading end of the energizing terminal 71a protruding into the housing 12a is inserted into the cylindrical body 51 from one end 51a of the terminal connector 5a attached to the housing 12a, and the first locking portion 52a, the opposing side wall 51d, And is electrically connected to the terminal connector 5a. Similarly, the front end portion of the energizing terminal 71b protruding into the housing 12b is inserted into the cylindrical body 51 from the one end portion 51a of the terminal connector 5b attached to the housing 12b, and is opposed to the first locking portion 52a. It is locked in the gap with the side wall 51d and is electrically connected to the terminal connector 5b.

One end portion of the connection piece 55 inserted into the other end portion 51b of the cylindrical body 51 in the terminal connectors 5a and 5b is locked in the gap between the second locking portion 52b and the one side wall 51c to be electrically cylindrical. 51. The other end portions of the connection pieces 55 are inserted into the through holes 41 a and 41 b and protrude into the connector housings 31 a and 31 b in the connector portion 31 provided on the upper lid 3. By inserting and attaching the connectors arranged at the ends of the electric wires connected to the power supply device and the electric load into the connector housings 31a and 31b, the other end portion of the connection piece 55 becomes an electric wire connected to the power supply device and the electric load. Electrically connected, and the energization terminals 71a and 71b of the relay 71 are connected to a power source and an electric wire connected to an electric load.

Similarly, the energization terminals 72a and 72b of the relay 72 are connected to electric wires connected to the power supply device and the electric load via the terminal connectors 5c and 5d, respectively. The energization terminals 73 a and 73 b of the relay 73 are connected to a circuit inside the electrical junction box 100.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, the terminal connectors 5a to 5d are connected to the energization terminals 71a, 71b, 72a and 72b protruding from the surfaces of the electrical components such as the relays 71 and 72, such as a power supply device and an electrical load. Manufacturing costs can be reduced.

Moreover, according to this embodiment, since the front-end | tip part 54c of the branch conductor 54 of the terminal connector 5a is bent with respect to the extending | stretching part 54b, the connection to the other terminal connector arranged in parallel is attained.

Moreover, according to this embodiment, the electrical junction box 100 has the casing 1, and electrical components such as the relays 71 and 72 are mounted, and the terminal connectors 5 a to 5 d are provided inside the casing 1. In the present modification, the extending portion 54b of the branch conductor 54 has a width that is narrowed from a midway portion in the longitudinal direction, and is bent at an arbitrary location from the midway portion to the tip to form a tip connection portion 54c. The electrical junction box 100 differs in the configuration of electrical components such as a relay to be mounted according to the type of power supply device mounted on the vehicle or the like, and the arrangement of electrical circuits inside the casing also differs.

The terminal connector 5a shown in FIG. 12 is bent at an arbitrary portion of the tip connecting portion 54c from the middle portion of the extending portion 54b to form the tip connecting portion 54c, thereby connecting the terminal on the other side to which the branch conductor 54 is connected. It can be commonly used in a plurality of types of electrical junction boxes 100 having different positional relationships with the tool. Therefore, since the terminal connector 5a according to the present modification does not need to manufacture another type of terminal connector 5a for each of the plurality of types of terminal connectors 100, the manufacturing cost of the terminal connector can be reduced.

FIG. 13 is a perspective view showing an appearance of a terminal connector 5a according to another modification. In the terminal connector 5a according to this modification, the extending portion 54b branches into a bifurcated portion from the tip, and two tip connection portions 54c are formed. With this terminal connector 5a, it is possible to cope with a counterpart terminal connector to which the branch conductor 54 is connected or when there are two connection locations in the circuit. Further, the branching of the extending portion 54b is not limited to two, and may be configured to branch into three or more.
