Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a torque sensor that detects a relative rotational position between two axes, and in particular, a primary coil as a detection element of an inductive sensor using a primary coil and a secondary coil as an inductance element of a self-excited oscillation circuit. The torque sensor having a built-in configuration is suitable for use as a torque sensor for detecting, for example, a torsional load applied to a power steering shaft of an automobile.
A torque sensor that detects a torque generated in an input shaft and an output shaft connected via a torsion bar as a twist amount (relative rotational position) between the input shaft and the output shaft is known. For example, in
In
In any of the above types of torque sensors, the conventional type has a dedicated AC signal source for exciting the coil and applies the AC signal generated from the AC signal source to the coil. Energize. Therefore, a dedicated excitation AC signal oscillator has to be provided separately from the detection circuit incorporating the detection coil.
On the other hand, there is also known a proximity sensor that eliminates the need for a dedicated excitation AC signal source by incorporating a coil as a detection element as an inductance element of a self-excited oscillation circuit using the principle of an LC oscillation circuit (for example, Patent Document 5). This type of self-oscillation type proximity sensor is advantageous in that it is not necessary to provide a dedicated excitation AC signal source, and the apparatus configuration can be reduced in size. However, the conventional self-excited oscillation type proximity sensor is configured to detect fluctuations in the oscillation frequency according to the proximity of the detection target, and thus requires a frequency discrimination circuit. In addition, the conventional self-excited oscillation type proximity sensor has a configuration suitable for detecting fluctuations in the oscillation frequency, but cannot be configured to detect the position of the detection target based on the amplitude level of the oscillation output signal. It could not be applied to a torque sensor.
A main object of the present invention is to promote simplification and miniaturization of the overall device configuration in a torque sensor including an inductive sensor using a primary coil and a secondary coil. A main approach for achieving this object is to provide a torque sensor having a configuration in which a primary coil as a detection element of an inductive sensor is incorporated as an inductance element of a self-excited oscillation circuit.
A torque sensor according to the present invention is a torque sensor that detects a torsional torque around a torsion bar shaft generated between first and second rotation shafts coaxially connected via a torsion bar. At least one coil portion including a primary coil and a secondary coil, a first magnetic response member connected to the first rotation shaft, and a second magnetic response member connected to the second rotation shaft. A sensor unit configured to configure the first and second magnetic response members to cause an inductance change in the secondary coil in response to a relative rotational position of the first and second rotating shafts; A self-excited oscillation circuit including the primary coil and a capacitor included in at least one coil unit, wherein the self-excited oscillation circuit incorporates the primary coil as an inductance element for self-excited oscillation. And an output circuit that outputs a torque detection signal based on the amplitude level of the secondary coil output signal.
According to the present invention, since the exciting primary coil itself in the induction type torque sensor is incorporated as an inductance element in the self-excited oscillation circuit, the configuration of the exciting oscillation circuit can be simplified. Since such a torque sensor is configured to output a torque detection signal based on the amplitude level of the secondary coil output signal, torque detection based on simple amplitude level discrimination can be performed without depending on frequency discrimination. In addition, since it is an induction type torque sensor that uses a primary coil and a secondary coil, the output level can be taken out more efficiently than a variable impedance type torque sensor consisting of only a primary coil, and the accuracy is high. Torque detection can be performed.
As an example, a coil made of a flat coil (printed coil) formed spirally on a printed board may be used as the coil. Thereby, a coil structure can be simplified and it contributes to size reduction of the whole torque sensor. Since the flat coil (printed coil) has a small number of turns, the amount of magnetic flux is small, and it is generally difficult to increase the detection output gain. However, according to the present invention, since it is an induction type torque sensor using a primary coil and a secondary coil, the output level can be efficiently extracted as compared with a variable impedance type torque sensor consisting of only a primary coil. Therefore, accurate torque detection can be performed. In addition, when the self-excited oscillation frequency is set high (for example, about several hundred kHz or more), the detection output AC signal is rectified to obtain a DC voltage level detection signal. It can be taken big. Therefore, it is possible to compensate for the magnetic flux that tends to be deficient by adopting a further simplified configuration by using flat coils formed in a spiral shape on the printed circuit board as primary and secondary coils. It is possible to solve the problem that cannot be solved by the prior art.
As an example, each of the first and second magnetic response members has a cylindrical shape with a plurality of window patterns in the circumferential direction, and the respective cylinders overlap so that the window patterns face each other. It may be arranged.
As an example, the first and second magnetic response members each have two series of the window patterns, and the first and second magnetic response members correspond to the relative rotational positions of the first and second rotation shafts. The degree of overlap of the window pattern of the magnetic response member changes, and the change in the degree of overlap of the window pattern is configured to exhibit reverse characteristics between the two series, and corresponds to each series of the window patterns. Then, the one set of coil portions may be individually provided, and the self-excited oscillation circuit may be provided.

The

FIG. 4C is an enlarged cross-sectional view schematically showing a part of the
The arrangement pattern of the aperture windows in each of the
Similarly, the series of the other opening
As is known, depending on the relative rotational position of the cylinder of the first
As described above, the arrangement of the opening windows is appropriately shifted so that changes in the overlapping state of the
As described above, in the
FIG. 5 shows a configuration example of the detection circuit unit of the torque sensor according to the present embodiment. The

Returning to FIG. 5, in the
The other self-
Thus, two series of torque detection signals (twist angle detection signals) DV1 and DV2 having opposite characteristics as known in a normal torque sensor can be obtained. As is known, one of the torque detection signals (torsion angle detection signal) DV1 or DV2 may be used as the final torque detection signal.
