Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a multi-angle colorimeter.
The multi-angle colorimeter is used to measure the color value of a sample whose color value changes depending on the observed angle. Examples of the sample whose color value changes depending on the observed angle include a car body or the like that has been subjected to metallic coating or pearl coating.
Multi-angle colorimeters are roughly classified into a one-way illumination / multi-directional light receiving type shown in
The light receiving opening for receiving the reflected light may be an entrance of an optical sensor (photoelectric conversion element) such as a silicon photodiode, or an entrance of a light guide mechanism such as an optical fiber. When the light receiving opening is the entrance of the light guide mechanism, the light guide mechanism guides the light beam from the entrance to a spectroscopic optical system or the like common to a plurality of light receiving angles. A light receiving optical system for guiding the light beam from the sample to the light receiving aperture may be provided.
In the multi-angle colorimeter of
The dependence of the light receiving sensitivity of the optical fiber on the light receiving angle generally follows a Gaussian distribution. That is, when the angle formed by the direction in which the light beam reaches the normal line of the light receiving aperture is 0 °, the light receiving sensitivity becomes highest, and as the angle formed by the direction in which the light beam reaches the normal line of the light receiving aperture increases. The light receiving sensitivity is lowered. Therefore, when the light receiving aperture directly receives the light beam, the light receiving intensity is highest at the intersection of the normal of the light receiving aperture and the surface of the sample, and as the distance from the intersection of the normal of the light receiving aperture and the surface of the sample increases. The received light intensity becomes low, and the distribution of received light intensity on the surface of the sample becomes non-uniform.
When the distribution of the received light intensity on the surface of the sample is not uniform, the relative position of the multi-angle colorimeter with respect to the sample has a large influence on the measurement, and the measurement is not performed stably. The reason for this will be described by dividing it into a direction perpendicular to the surface of the sample and a direction parallel to the surface of the sample.
First, the direction perpendicular to the surface of the sample will be described. The result of the measurement depends on a value obtained by integrating the product of the illumination intensity and the received light intensity over a certain range of the surface of the sample. When the relative position shifts in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the sample, the relative relationship between the distribution of the received light intensity and the distribution of the illumination intensity deviates from the assumption, and the integrated value deviates from the assumption. For this reason, when the distribution of the received light intensity is non-uniform and the relative position shifts in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the sample, the measurement result also varies.
Next, the direction parallel to the surface of the sample will be described. The result of the measurement depends on a value obtained by integrating the product of the reflection characteristic and the received light intensity over a certain range of the surface of the sample. When the relative position shifts in the direction parallel to the surface of the sample and the unevenness of the received light intensity overlaps with the unevenness of the reflection characteristics of the surface of the sample, the measurement result varies greatly. For this reason, when the distribution of the received light intensity is non-uniform and the relative position shifts in the direction parallel to the surface of the sample, the measurement result also varies.
Even when the illumination optical system is not provided and the illumination mechanism directly irradiates the sample with illumination light, the distribution of the illumination intensity on the surface of the sample becomes non-uniform, resulting in a similar problem.
In order to solve these problems, as shown in
In the multi-angle colorimeter of
In the multi-angle colorimeter of

The first light receiving

The
The

At a light receiving angle called a shade, the reflected light consists exclusively of diffused light, and the reflected light contains almost no specularly reflected light. Further, in the light receiving angle called shade, the reflection form is close to Lambertian reflection, the dependency of the reflection characteristic on the light receiving angle is reduced, and the reflection characteristic changes linearly with respect to the light receiving angle. Therefore, when the first light receiving angle θ1 and the second light receiving angle θ2 are set to light receiving angles called shades, the result of the spectroscopic measurement for the first light receiving angle θ and the spectrum for the second light receiving angle are set. From the measurement result, the spectroscopic measurement result for the intermediate light receiving angle is accurately estimated.

(Second Embodiment)
The second embodiment relates to a multi-angle illumination / unidirectional light-receiving type multi-angle colorimeter. In the description of the second embodiment, the points different from the first embodiment are mainly mentioned. For matters not mentioned in the description of the second embodiment, the description contents of the first embodiment may be employed as they are, or may be employed after the description contents of the first embodiment are modified.
The block diagram of FIG. 15 schematically shows the multi-angle colorimeter of the second embodiment. The conceptual diagrams of FIGS. 16 and 17 schematically show the first illumination optical system.
As shown in FIGS. 15 to 17, the
The

The first illumination
The first illumination

The
