Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an assembled battery formed by combining a plurality of laminated unit cells, and more particularly to an assembled battery in which a laminated unit cell is inserted between tube members arranged in parallel.
Laminated (single) batteries in which a positive electrode active material, an electrolyte, and a negative electrode active material are sealed in a flexible exterior body have been widely used. Recently, it has been studied to combine a plurality of laminated cell types of this type into a high-capacity assembled battery.
By the way, a general battery discharge reaction is an exothermic reaction. Also in the assembled battery, when all the laminate type cells are discharged to urge the external load with electric energy, the laminate type cells are heated and the temperature rises. If the laminate type battery becomes too hot, the battery characteristics are likely to deteriorate. For this reason, various configurations for cooling the assembled battery have been proposed.
For example, Patent Literature 1 discloses an assembled battery having a configuration in which water-cooling jackets and single cells are alternately stacked. According to the description of Patent Document 1, since the cooling medium flows close to the battery element that generates a large amount of heat, heat exchange between the unit cell and the cooling medium is promoted, and the cooling efficiency is excellent. That's it.
Moreover, in the collective sealed secondary battery (assembled battery) described in Patent Document 2, a configuration is adopted in which cooling medium passages are provided between the battery cases in which the power generation elements are accommodated and between the left and right end surfaces of the battery case. Yes. In this case, each side surface of all the unit cells is forcibly cooled by the cooling medium passing through the cooling medium passage.
In the technique described in Patent Document 1, a laminate of a unit cell and a water cooling jacket is fastened by a restraining band. Similarly, in the technique described in Patent Document 2, a stack of unit cells is fastened with a restraining band.
Here, the unit cell is heated as described above during discharging, and its temperature rises. Due to this temperature rise, each unit cell, and thus the assembled battery as a whole, undergoes thermal expansion (volume increase). Therefore, when tightening is performed as described in Patent Documents 1 and 2, stress acts on the restraining band, the battery case, the water cooling jacket, etc. as the volume of the unit cell increases. For this reason, there is a concern that the cooling medium passage may be crushed and it becomes difficult for the cooling medium to circulate, or in some cases, the above-described member may be damaged due to excessive thermal expansion. is there. In particular, when the unit cell is a laminate type unit cell, since the thermal expansion amount is large because the exterior body is flexible, it is not easy to remove this concern.
In view of the thermal expansion amount of the single cells, it is also conceivable to form a battery pack by forming a predetermined clearance in advance between the single cells or between the single cells and the water cooling jacket. However, in this case, the cooling medium and the unit cell are separated from each other, which causes a problem that the cooling efficiency is lowered accordingly.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide an assembled battery that can be easily adjusted in temperature and can eliminate the concern that the constituent members are damaged.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention is an assembled battery configured by holding a plurality of laminated unit cells,
A liquid flow passage through which liquid flows is held in a state in which a plurality of pipe members formed therein are arranged in parallel and has a holding member in which a liquid communication passage communicating with the liquid flow passage is formed,
Each laminated unit cell is inserted between two adjacent ones of the plurality of tube members,
Further, the laminate type unit cell is interposed between the laminate type unit cell and at least one of the two tube members to prevent the laminate type unit cell from being detached from the tube member, and the laminate type unit cell. And a pipe member that includes a retaining member in which a gas flow passage through which gas can flow is formed.
In such a configuration, for example, when a cooling medium is selected as the liquid, the laminated unit cell can be cooled with the cooling medium and the gas flowing through the gas flow passage. That is, since it becomes possible to perform double cooling, it is possible to efficiently cool the laminated unit cell. In other words, temperature adjustment is easy. In some cases, a heating medium may be circulated through the liquid communication path and the liquid flow path.
Further, when the laminate type single cell undergoes thermal expansion, the retaining member is compressed. The stress generated as the volume of the laminated unit cell increases is absorbed or relaxed by this compression. Therefore, it is possible to avoid stress acting on the tube member or the like and damage to the tube member or the like as a result.
In addition, in this case, since only the retaining member is compressed, it is possible to prevent the volume of the assembled battery from increasing. Therefore, it is not particularly necessary to set a mounting space for the assembled battery in consideration of the increase in volume of the assembled battery. For this reason, the freedom degree of the arrangement layout of an assembled battery improves.
The retaining member is preferably an elastic body. In this case, when the laminate type cell contracts, the retaining member returns to the shape before being compressed, so that the retaining function is exhibited again.
A suitable example of the elastic body is a leaf spring. In particular, it is preferable to have a corrugated portion. There is a clearance formed by separating from the laminated unit cell in the portion of the wave-shaped portion that contacts the tube member, while the portion that contacts the laminated unit cell is separated from the tube member. There is a clearance formed. These clearances function as the gas flow path.
Moreover, it is preferable that the cross section of the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of a pipe member makes a long hole shape. In this case, the insertion hole of the tube member formed in the holding member can be formed into a long hole shape. An insertion hole having a long hole shape is relatively easy to form as compared with an insertion hole having another shape. That is, there is an advantage that it is easy to form the insertion hole.
Furthermore, it is preferable to form a boss portion that protrudes toward the inside of the pipe member, that is, toward the liquid flow path. The boss portion prevents the tube member from being crushed by the laminated unit cell having an increased volume or the compressed retaining member, so that the liquid flow path can be prevented from being blocked. it can.
When the assembled battery is used in a cold region, it is preferable to circulate a liquid to which an antifreeze is added as a liquid in order to prevent the liquid from freezing and reducing the cooling effect (or temperature adjustment effect). .
In the present invention, a liquid flow path and a gas flow path are provided in an assembled battery configured to hold a plurality of laminated unit cells. And while selecting a cooling medium as a liquid which distribute | circulates to a liquid flow path, it becomes possible to cool a lamination type cell efficiently by distribute | circulating gas to a gas flow path.
In addition, when the laminated unit cell undergoes thermal expansion (increase in volume), the stress caused by this is caused by the gap between the laminated unit cell and the tube member in which the laminated unit cell is inserted. The stop member is absorbed or relaxed by being compressed. For this reason, it can prevent that a pipe member etc. are damaged.
As described above, according to the present invention, sufficient cooling efficiency can be ensured, and the concern that the constituent members may be damaged can be eliminated.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the assembled battery according to the present invention will be described and described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The holding
Similarly, the holding

The
The

The

The
The
Similarly,
The

As can be understood from FIGS. 1 and 6, a part of the
Moreover, a
As described above, the cooling medium flows through the
When the electric automobile is used in a cold region, the liquid to which the antifreeze liquid is added may be supplied to the
When the laminate type
In addition, the laminate type
When the
For this reason, regardless of the degree of compression of the
Of course, the
When the discharge state is continued and the capacity of the laminate type
The present invention is not particularly limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
For example, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8,
In this case, as shown in FIG. 7, the phases of the
Also, either one of the
Further, in this embodiment, the assembled
Further, in some cases, a heating medium for heating may be circulated through the
