Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a stereoscopic display system.
There is known a stereoscopic display device that uses liquid crystal shutter glasses to show a stereoscopic image to an observer. Such a stereoscopic display device alternately displays right-eye images and left-eye images on the liquid crystal panel. The light transmission state of the liquid crystal shutter glasses is controlled in synchronization with the image switching cycle. As a result, only the right-eye image is visible to the observer's right eye, and only the left-eye image is visible to the left eye. As a result, the observer can feel a stereoscopic effect.
In a stereoscopic display device, it is necessary to separate a right eye image and a left eye image. If the image for the right eye and the image for the left eye are not separated, crosstalk occurs. As a method of reducing the crosstalk, for example, there is a method of lighting a backlight for each area on the screen in accordance with the response of the liquid crystal (see Non-Patent Document 1).
The backlight is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-117207 (Patent Document 1). The backlight described in

As shown in FIG. 5, a
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, the
[Reflection wall]
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 5, the
Each reflecting
Each
Each reflecting
As shown in FIG. 6, one
The tip (ridge line 69) of each reflecting
As shown in FIG. 6, it is preferable that a gap is formed between the tip of each
[Effect of the embodiment]
Each
However, in the present embodiment, a plurality of reflecting
In the present embodiment, each reflecting
In particular, in this embodiment, the cross section of each reflecting
FIG. 7 shows the brightness of the
As shown in FIG. 7, when the reflecting
FIG. 8 shows a stereoscopic upper portion of the area corresponding to the
[White image display period]
As shown in FIG. 8, the brightness of the
[Black image display period]
As shown in FIG. 8, the lighting period of the
