Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a power storage device.
As described in Patent Document 1 below, a power storage device in which a dummy positive electrode and a dummy negative electrode (uncoated electrode) in which an active material layer is not formed are stacked on both outer sides of an electrode assembly having a positive electrode and a negative electrode It has been known. A separator as an insulating member is provided between the dummy positive electrode and the dummy negative electrode. A short-circuit sheet body is formed by the dummy positive electrode, the separator, and the dummy negative electrode. When the nail penetrates the short-circuit sheet body, the nail breaks through the separator, and a short-circuit current flows between the dummy positive electrode and the dummy negative electrode via the nail. In this way, heat generation of the power storage device is suppressed by allowing a short-circuit current to flow in the uncoated electrode where the active material layer is not formed.
However, in the conventional power storage device described above, when a foreign object such as a nail is pierced, the uncoated electrode around the nail is melted by a short-circuit current, and the uncoated electrode and the nail become electrically non-contact. There is a possibility that a sufficient current does not flow between the uncoated electrode and the nail. In this case, a large short circuit current may flow between the positive electrode and the negative electrode on which the active material layer is formed.
An object of this invention is to provide the electrical storage apparatus which can perform the short circuit in an uncoated electrode reliably.
A power storage device of the present invention is a power storage device including a case and an electrode assembly having a layered structure that is housed in the case and in which the positive electrode and the negative electrode are insulated, and includes a case and an electrode assembly. Each of the plurality of short-circuit units, a first conductive plate electrically connected to the negative electrode, a second conductive plate electrically connected to the positive electrode, and a first A first insulating member that insulates the conductive plate and the second conductive plate, and has a layered structure in which the first conductive plate, the first insulating member, and the second conductive plate are stacked, and a plurality of short-circuit units Are stacked via a second insulating member.
In this power storage device, a short-circuit unit having a layered structure in which a first conductive plate, a first insulating member, and a second conductive plate are stacked is stacked via a second insulating member. The first conductive plate and the second conductive plate are uncoated electrodes. For example, when a nail or the like is pierced into the power storage device, the nail or the like penetrates the case and pierces the short-circuit unit. In that case, the nail or the like first penetrates the first insulating member of the first-layer short-circuit unit closest to the case. Here, when the first conductive plate or the second conductive plate of the short-circuit unit generates heat due to the short-circuit current and melts, the melted conductive plate and the nail are not in contact with each other, and the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate The short circuit between will be eliminated. According to this power storage device, since the plurality of short-circuit units are stacked, the short-circuit can be performed again by the first conductive plate and / or the second conductive plate of the next-layer short-circuit unit. Therefore, the short circuit in an uncoated electrode can be performed reliably.
The first conductive plate is made of copper, and the thickness of the first conductive plate may be smaller than the thickness of the second conductive plate. The electrical resistivity of copper constituting the first conductive plate is often smaller than the electrical resistivity of the material constituting the second conductive plate. Therefore, even if the cross-sectional area of the first conductive plate is reduced by reducing the thickness, the electrical resistance of the first conductive plate is prevented from greatly increasing. Thereby, the amount of copper used for the first conductive plate can be reduced while reliably performing a short circuit.
The first conductive plate is formed by stacking a plurality of copper foils, the second conductive plate is formed by stacking a plurality of aluminum foils, and the number of copper foils in the first conductive plate is the aluminum foil in the second conductive plate. It may be less than the number of sheets. The electrical resistivity of copper constituting the first conductive plate is smaller than the electrical resistivity of aluminum constituting the second conductive plate. Therefore, even if the cross-sectional area of the first conductive plate is reduced by reducing the number of copper foils, the electrical resistance of the first conductive plate is prevented from greatly increasing. Thereby, the number of copper foils used for the first conductive plate can be reduced while reliably performing a short circuit.
A negative electrode tab protruding in a predetermined direction is formed on the negative electrode, a positive electrode tab protruding in a predetermined direction is formed on the positive electrode, and the first conductive plate protrudes in a predetermined direction and overlaps the negative electrode tab. The first tab may be formed, and the second conductive plate may be formed with a second tab disposed so as to protrude in a predetermined direction and overlap the positive electrode tab. In this case, electrical connection between the negative electrode tab and the first tab of the first conductive plate is facilitated, and electrical connection between the positive electrode tab and the second tab of the second conductive plate is facilitated. Since all the joined tabs protrude in a predetermined direction, the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal can be provided in the same direction, and external wiring becomes easy.
The short-circuit unit closest to the electrode assembly among the plurality of short-circuit units may be in surface contact with the outermost layer of the electrode assembly. In this case, since the surface of the short-circuit unit and the surface of the electrode assembly are in surface contact, it is possible to reliably generate a short circuit with a simple configuration.
At least one of the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate may have a silicon resin on the surface. According to this configuration, even if the first conductive plate or the second conductive plate is separated from the nail or the like, the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate are easily welded via the silicon resin. By welding the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate to each other, the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate can be directly short-circuited.
At least one of the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate may have a silicon alloy on the surface. According to this configuration, even if the first conductive plate or the second conductive plate is separated from the nail or the like, the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate are easily welded via the silicon alloy. By welding the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate to each other, the first conductive plate and the second conductive plate can be directly short-circuited.
The power storage device may be a secondary battery. In this case, in the secondary battery, a short circuit in the uncoated electrode can be reliably performed.
According to the present invention, it is possible to reliably perform a short circuit in an uncoated electrode.

In the short-
In the
As shown in FIG. 4, in the conventional
According to the

Even if the cross-sectional area of the first
Further, the copper foil used for the first
