Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fan-out module.
In recent years, the spread of the Internet and information communication services using the Internet are rapidly expanding. Accordingly, there is a demand for means capable of transmitting and receiving a large amount of data. As one means for solving this, Patent Documents 1 and 2 disclose a multi-core optical fiber in which a plurality of cores are provided on one optical fiber.
When connecting a fan-out module composed of a plurality of optical fibers to a multi-core optical fiber, it is very difficult to align all the cores without misalignment. In the fan-out module, when leaked light enters the clad due to the misalignment of the core of any of the optical fibers, the leaked light enters the adjacent optical fiber and degrades the signal light propagating through the adjacent optical fiber. There is a problem of making it.
The subject of this invention is providing the fan-out module which can suppress deterioration of the signal light which arises due to the axial shift of the core at the time of a connection.
The fan-out module of the present invention is composed of a plurality of optical fibers, one end portions of the plurality of optical fibers are converged to form a connector portion, and the plurality of optical fibers are independent from each other from the connector portion. In each of the plurality of optical fibers, the surface of one end constituting the connector portion is covered with a light reflecting film.
In the fan-out module manufacturing method of the present invention, the surface of one end of each of a plurality of optical fibers is coated with a light reflecting film, and the one end of the surfaces of the plurality of optical fibers is covered with a light reflecting film. Thus, the connector portion is configured.
According to the present invention, since the surface of the one end constituting each connector portion of the plurality of optical fibers is coated with the light reflecting film, even if leakage light is incident on the clad due to the axial misalignment of the core, The leaked light is reflected by the light reflecting film and is prevented from entering the adjacent optical fiber. As a result, it is possible to suppress deterioration due to the incident of the leaked light of the signal light propagating through the adjacent optical fiber.
Hereinafter, embodiments will be described in detail based on the drawings.
1 and 2 show a connection structure between the fan-out module M and the multi-core

The fan-out module M is an optical device that has a connector portion connected to the multi-core
FIG. 3 shows an optical fiber core F.

Here, in the present application, the “high refractive index dopant” refers to a dopant that increases the refractive index of pure quartz by doping. As a high refractive index dopant, for example, germanium is typically exemplified, and in addition, phosphorus and the like are exemplified. The high refractive index dopant may be doped with a single species or may be doped with a plurality of species. The concentration of the high refractive index dopant is 3 to 4 mol%. The outer diameter of the

Examples of the material for forming the
Examples of the metal forming the
The film thickness of the

The metal
The arrangement of the
For the
The multi-core
In the above configuration, when the multi-core
