Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a structure including a sealing structure in which a metal member and a ceramic member are hermetically sealed with a glass material. More specifically, the present invention relates to a ceramic-metal glass seal structure that maintains hermeticity at high temperatures.
Conventionally, a structure in which a ceramic material and a metal material are joined has been employed in various electronic parts, gas separation elements, and the like. Since ceramic materials generally have a lower thermal expansion coefficient than metal materials, it is necessary to use a metal material having a thermal expansion coefficient close to that of the ceramic material in the operating temperature range when these materials are joined. As such a metal material (low thermal expansion alloy) having a relatively low thermal expansion coefficient, for example, an Invar alloy made of Fe-36Ni, a Kovar alloy made of Fe-29Ni-17Co, and the like are known.
In addition, in electronic parts and the like, a glass material for hermetically sealing (sealing) between a ceramic material and a metal material, or for adhering (sealing) both members while maintaining the sealing. Is used. As such glass materials, various glass materials for sealing are proposed in addition to Corning 7052 type glass or 7056 type glass (for example, see Patent Documents 1 and 2).
As disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2, the glass material for sealing has various properties improved according to its use, but the heat-resistant temperature for sealing is limited to about 300 ° C to 400 ° C. there were.
By the way, a gas separation element that selectively separates a specific gaseous substance from a fluid such as liquid or gas is known. In this gas separation element, typically, an inorganic membrane (gas separation membrane) having a gas separation ability such as a silica membrane or a zeolite membrane is supported on the surface of a porous ceramic member as a carrier, and a gas conduit is connected to the ceramic member. It is constructed by connecting metal members such as. When the compressed fluid to be separated comes into contact with or passes through the porous ceramic, only the predetermined gas is separated by the gas separation membrane, and the separated gas passes through the pores of the porous ceramic member. It is configured to pass through and be collected.
In such a gas separation element, when gas separation is performed at a relatively low temperature of 300 ° C. or lower, sealing and sealing between the ceramic member and the metal member are performed using a heat-resistant resin or rubber. (For example, refer to Patent Document 3). In addition, when gas separation is performed at a relatively high temperature of 300 ° C. or higher, it has been proposed to use metal or graphite as a sealing material (see, for example,
The present invention has been created to solve the above-described conventional problems, and the object of the present invention is to provide a glass material between the ceramic member and the metal member even at a high temperature of about 500 ° C. It is to provide a sealed structure (more preferably, a structure in which both members are bonded together by the glass material).
That is, the structure disclosed here is a structure in which at least one metal member and one ceramic member are bonded and the bonded portion is sealed with a glass material. And in such a structure, both of the thermal expansion coefficients from 25 ° C. to 500 ° C. of the metal member and the ceramic member are in the range of 6.5 × 10 −6 to 8.0 × 10 −6 ° C.− 1 , The glass material has a thermal expansion coefficient from 25 ° C. to 500 ° C. in the range of 5.5 × 10 −6 to 6.5 × 10 −6 ° C. −1 .
In general, in order to suitably bond dissimilar materials such as ceramics, glass, and metal, (1) the relative relationship of thermal expansion of these materials is appropriate, and an excessive strain force is not applied to the brittle glass, (2) It is important that these materials have good wetting and familiarity (affinity). As the relative relationship of (1) thermal expansion, for example, it is known that the thermal expansion coefficient of ceramics from room temperature (25 ° C.) to 500 ° C. is about 7.0 × 10 −6 ° C. −1. It is preferable to select and use a metal having such thermal expansion characteristics. On the other hand, in the structure disclosed herein, a thermal expansion coefficient from room temperature (25 ° C.) to 500 ° C. (hereinafter simply referred to as “500”) is used for joining the ceramic member and the metal member having such thermal expansion characteristics. It may be referred to as “the coefficient of thermal expansion up to 0 ° C.”.) By using a glass material having a significantly small value, it is possible to seal and seal the two at that temperature. While it is not clear why such a seal is achieved, such systems can be particularly well maintained in wetness and familiarity between glass and metal.
In this specification, the thermal expansion coefficient is an average linear expansion coefficient measured using a differential thermal dilatometer in a predetermined temperature range, and the amount of change in the sample length in a predetermined temperature range with respect to the initial length of the sample. Is divided by the temperature difference. The measurement of thermal expansion coefficient is JIS
It can implement according to the measuring method of R1618.
In a preferred aspect of the structure disclosed herein, the metal member contains at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Al, and Si as a main component and Fe, Ni, and Co as subcomponents. It is characterized by being composed of an Fe—Ni—Co-based alloy containing 100% by mass of the entire metal member at a ratio of 0.1% by mass to 10% by mass.
An Fe—Ni—Co based alloy containing Fe, Ni, and Co as main components may have low thermal expansion characteristics. In the structure disclosed here, at least one element of Ti, Al and Si is included as a subcomponent. Such Ti, Al, and Si are elements that are known to form oxides that are stable at the atmospheric partial pressure of oxygen, as shown in the Ellingham diagram of known oxides. By including these elements in the above proportions in the Fe—Ni—Co alloy, the metal oxide is formed as a very thin surface layer (for example, about several atomic layers) on the metal surface, and the metal member and the glass material Even when there is a difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion, it is possible to satisfactorily adjust the wetting and familiarity between materials. In addition, about Ti and Al, the precipitation strengthening by precipitation of (gamma) 'phase can be aimed at by adding to a Fe-Ni-Co type alloy. These elements may be included for the purpose of obtaining such high strength.
In the present invention, “Fe, Ni and Co are the main constituents” means the ratio of the total of Fe, Ni and Co elements when the total alloy is 100% by mass in the above alloy composition. Is 50 mass% or more. The total of Fe, Ni and Co elements is typically 70% by mass or more, preferably 80% by mass or more, and more preferably 90% by mass or more. Further, an alloy containing Fe, Ni, and Co as main components may be expressed as “Fe—Ni—Co alloy”.

In addition, matters other than matters specifically mentioned in the present specification (for example, characteristics of each member constituting the sealing structure) and matters necessary for the implementation of the present invention (for example, each member constituting the structure) Manufacturing method, processing method, etc.) can be grasped as design matters of those skilled in the art based on the prior art in this field.
FIG. 1 is one embodiment of the structure disclosed herein. In such a
Usually, in order to favorably bond dissimilar materials such as ceramics, glass and metal, the thermal expansion coefficient in the operating temperature range should be as close as possible in order to minimize the mutual thermal stress of these materials. Be considered. On the other hand, in the
Specifically, the
Here, in the above notation indicating the composition of the alloy, the numbers described before the element symbols other than Fe indicate the mass ratio of the element in the alloy. Moreover, it can be understood that the remainder is occupied by Fe and inevitable impurities.
Although the effects of Ti, Al and Si as subcomponents are not clear, these elements form stable oxides under the equilibrium oxygen partial pressure of the atmosphere, as is apparent from, for example, the Ellingham diagram of oxides. It is known that it can. Therefore, the Fe—Ni—Co based alloy contains these elements in the above proportions, so that the surface of the
As the
In addition to the subcomponents described above, the
These elements, for example, stabilize the austenite phase and function as solid solution strengthening elements and precipitation strengthening elements, and are effective in improving hot workability and ductility in normal temperature range, deoxidation effect, and corrosion resistance. Can demonstrate. Therefore, one or more of these elements can be appropriately added within a total amount of 5% by mass or less depending on the desired purpose. If the total amount of these elements exceeds 5% by mass, the thermal expansion coefficient may be increased, which is not preferable.
In addition, for the purpose of providing the

It may also have an intermediate structure between them. In the porous body, the purity, porosity, pore diameter, specific surface area, etc. adjusted to the desired values can be used.

In the present specification, the “composition” as referred to for the

The softening point of the glass is preferably 590 ° C. or higher and 640 ° C. or lower. By having a softening point in such a temperature range, for example, sealing in a temperature range lower than the softening point such as about 500 ° C. is reliably performed, and for example, about 150 ° C. higher than the softening point, for example, about 800 ° C. or higher. It is possible to perform the sealing work while minimizing the possibility of adverse effects.
The
As described in detail above, the thermal expansion coefficients of the
In addition, FIG. 6 is a figure which showed the average linear thermal expansion coefficient from room temperature of each material to each temperature. For example, a glass material (
The
The
Furthermore, the
The
In such a gas
In the above description, an example in which the
EXAMPLES Examples relating to the present invention will be described below, but the present invention is not intended to be limited to those shown in the following examples.
[Sealing preliminary test]
In sealing a ceramic member and a metal member with a glass material, first, a preliminary sealing test between the metal member and the glass material was performed.
As a glass material, after preparing glass raw materials of SiO 2 , B 2 O 3 , Al 2 O 3 , BaO, ZnO, and Na 2 O with the following six combinations shown in Table 1, 1000 platinum is used using a platinum crucible. The glass materials 1-6 were prepared by melt | dissolving at 5 degreeC for 24 hours, and annealing. Test glass pieces (A) to (F) having a thickness of 2 mm and a size of 3 mm × 3 mm were cut out from these glass materials. The glass transition point, yield point and softening point of these glasses were measured using a differential thermal analyzer (manufactured by Rigaku Corporation, TMA8310), and the results are shown in Table 1.
As the metal member, a low thermal expansion heat-resistant alloy (a) HRA929 (manufactured by Hitachi Metals) having a dimension of 20 mm × 20 mm and a thickness of 2 mm, and (b) Kovar alloy were prepared.
[Thermal expansion coefficient]
The thermal expansion coefficient (linear expansion coefficient) in each temperature range from 25 ° C. to 100 ° C., 200 ° C., 300 ° C., 400 ° C. and 500 ° C. of the glass material and metal member was measured, and the results are shown in Table 2 and FIG. showed that. The thermal expansion coefficient is measured by preparing a cylindrical test piece having a diameter of about 5 mm and a length of about 10 to 20 mm from the sample, and measuring the expansion amount of the test piece in each temperature range by using a self-recording differential thermal dilatometer (Rigaku Corporation). Manufactured by TMA8310), and the average linear expansion coefficient was calculated.
[Sealability]
After polishing the surface of the metal member with a # 2000 polishing cloth, the glass piece was placed on the center of the metal member, melted at 900 ° C., and then cooled at a rate of 10 ° C./min.
The glass after melting and cooling was visually observed to check for the occurrence of cracks, and the results are shown in Table 3. In Table 3, ◯ indicates that no crack occurred in the glass, and × indicates that crack occurred in the glass.
[Evaluation]
From the values of FIG. 6 and the coefficient of thermal expansion from room temperature to 500 ° C., the glass materials 1 and 6 have a thermal expansion coefficient close to that of Kovar, which is a low thermal expansion alloy, and the
It has been pointed out that a metal oxide layer formed on the surface of the metal contributes to the sealing of glass and metal. (A) The chemical composition of HRA929 is 29.3Ni-19.5Co-4.0Nb-1.25Ti-0.55Al-0.4Si-0.005B-balance Fe, (b) the composition of Kovar is 29Ni-17Co-balance Fe. From these, included in HRA929, stable formation of the oxide tends to Ti, an oxide film such as TiO 2, Al 2 O 3 derived from the Al interface HRA929 is furnished, glass with different coefficients of thermal expansion It is considered that familiarity (compatibility) with the material 1 and the glass material 6 is enhanced.
[Sealing test]
A ceramic body and a metal member were joined together, and the joined portion was sealed with a glass material to produce a structure.
Two types of ceramic members were prepared: tubular (a) porous alumina and (b) dense alumina. (A) The porous alumina is made of Al 2 O 3 having a purity of 99% by mass or more. As shown in FIG. 2, the outer diameter is 10 mm, the thickness is 1.5 mm, the pore diameter is 0.5 to 3 μm, and the porosity is 30 to 30%. This is a form in which the tip of the cylindrical body of 50% is covered with a disk-like dense alumina. (B) Dense alumina is composed of Al 2 O 3 having a purity of 99% by mass or more and a density of 3.9 g / cm 3 , and as shown in FIG. 3, is a closed tube (outer diameter 12 mm, thickness 3 mm). It has a shape. The thermal expansion coefficients of these (a) porous alumina and (b) dense alumina were measured, and the results are also shown in Table 2 above.
As the metal member, the same gas conduit made of (a) HRA929 and (b) Kovar used in the preliminary test was prepared. In addition, the gas conduit had a tubular shape with an inner diameter of 9.9 mm and a thickness of 2 mm at the joint portion with the ceramic member.
As the glass material, all the glass materials 1 to 6 used in the preliminary test were prepared.
For joining, first, a glass material in powder form is made into a paste using an organic binder or the like, and the pasty glass material is attached to the joint of the tubular ceramic member and inserted into the joint of the metal member, The ceramic member and the metal member were sealed by heating to 900 ° C. The case using the porous ceramic member was also joined in the same manner. In addition, about a porous ceramic member, the above paste-like glass material is applied and heated so as to cover the entire surface of the porous body other than the joint portion, and glass is applied to the entire surface of the porous body. The material was formed into a film.
A flow meter and a gas pipe were connected to the open end of the metal member of the structure thus formed, and 0.3 MPa of N 2 gas was supplied at 500 ° C. to confirm that there was no leakage from the structure. .
[Evaluation]
When sealing the ceramic member and the metal member, the glass material 1 and the glass material 6 are used as the sealing material and the HRA929 is used as the metal member, as in the result of the preliminary test. I was able to make a body. The ceramic member in this case could be satisfactorily sealed in any of (a) porous alumina and (b) dense alumina.
On the other hand, when other glass materials 2 to 5 and Kovar were used, clear cracks occurred in the glass, and a structure could not be produced.
Regarding the structure in which alumina and HRA929 were sealed with the glass material 1 or the glass material 6, the gas leakage was less than the detection limit (leakage amount: 0.1 mL / min) and was sealed hermetically. It could be confirmed.
Moreover, when (a) porous alumina was used as the ceramic member, it was confirmed that the surface of the porous body could be sealed with the glass material 1 or the glass material 6.
As described above, the ability to hermetically seal the metal member and the ceramic member at 500 ° C. indicates that this structure can be suitably applied to, for example, a gas separation membrane module. For example, it is possible to increase the gas separation temperature to 500 ° C. or higher, and it is possible to realize a gas separation element with higher efficiency and wider application range.
As mentioned above, although this invention was demonstrated by suitable embodiment, such description is not a limitation matter and of course various modifications are possible.
