Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust gas recirculation device, and more particularly to an exhaust gas recirculation device including a heat exchanger in an intake manifold.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an exhaust gas recirculation device that blows exhaust gas (internal EGR gas) remaining in a cylinder back to an intake port side by controlling the opening / closing timing of intake / exhaust valves of the internal combustion engine is known. As such an exhaust gas recirculation device, for example,
However, in
However, when a heat exchanger is installed in the intake manifold, the distance between the heat exchanger and the intake port becomes a problem. That is, since the internal EGR gas blown back from each cylinder is quickly returned when the intake valve is subsequently opened, the internal EGR gas is not sufficiently cooled when the distance is long. If it does so, the NOx reduction effect using internal EGR gas may fade. On the other hand, since the water-cooled heat exchanger needs to be provided with a flow path for cooling water, the total cross-sectional area of the internal flow path is reduced accordingly, so that pressure loss occurs when flowing into the heat exchanger from the intake pipe side. . Therefore, if there is no such distance, intake air in a state where the flow rate is reduced due to pressure loss is sucked into the intake port, which may lead to deterioration in fuel consumption and output.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems. That is, an object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas recirculation device that can reduce problems caused by pressure loss while ensuring the cooling performance of internal EGR gas when installing a heat exchanger in an intake manifold.
In order to achieve the above object, a first invention is an exhaust gas recirculation device,
An intake manifold connected to a plurality of intake ports of the internal combustion engine;
A heat exchanger disposed in the intake manifold and capable of cooling a gas flowing through the intake manifold;
Gas amount adjusting means for adjusting the amount of gas flowing into the intake port after flowing through the heat exchanger in the intake manifold downstream of the heat exchanger;
It is characterized by providing.
The second invention is the first invention, wherein
The gas amount adjusting means includes
A plurality of partition walls capable of forming a plurality of gas paths from an outlet on the intake port side of the heat exchanger to each inlet on the heat exchanger side of the intake port;
Partition control means for operating the partition so that an effective area on the upstream side of the gas path is larger than an effective area on the outlet on the intake port side;
It is characterized by providing.
According to the first invention, the internal EGR can be cooled by the heat exchanger. Further, the amount of gas flowing into the intake port after flowing through the heat exchanger can be adjusted by the gas amount adjusting means. Therefore, even if the intake air flow rate decreases when it flows through the heat exchanger, it can be recovered before the intake port flows in. Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to reduce problems caused by pressure loss while ensuring cooling of the internal EGR gas.
According to the second aspect of the invention, the partition wall can be operated by the partition wall control means so that the effective area on the upstream side of the gas path is larger than the effective area on the outlet port side of the heat exchanger. Therefore, the flow rate of the intake air flowing from the heat exchanger to the intake port side can be recovered on the upstream side of the gas path, that is, in the vicinity of the outlet on the heat exchanger intake port side.
[Description of overall configuration]
The first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 is a diagram for explaining the overall configuration of a system including an exhaust gas recirculation apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the exhaust gas recirculation apparatus of this embodiment is applied to an in-line four-cylinder
また、本実施形態の排気還流装置は、制御装置としてのECU(Electronic Control Unit)60を備えている。
Further, the exhaust gas recirculation device of the present embodiment includes an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) 60 as a control device. The ECU 60 includes a negative pressure actuator 38 (described later), a
[Description of exhaust gas recirculation system]
FIG. 2 is an enlarged schematic view of the main part of the exhaust gas recirculation apparatus of the present embodiment. As shown in FIG. 2, the
As shown in FIG. 2,
The
Further, the
[Operation of the
The operation of the
The gas flow formed by the operation of the
Here, as described in FIG. 2, if the gas flow path 32 is formed, the effective area can be increased in the vicinity of the outlet of the
Moreover, FIG. 6 is a figure for demonstrating the gas flow corresponding to the state of FIG.4 (b). As described above, in the state of FIG. 4B, the
Moreover, FIG. 7 is a figure for demonstrating the gas flow corresponding to the intermediate state of FIG. 4 (a), (b). In the intermediate state shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, that is, in a state where the
[Control in Embodiment 1]
As described with reference to FIGS. 5 to 7, the flow of fresh air and internal EGR gas can be adjusted by the operation of the
As shown in FIG. 8, the

On the other hand, the internal EGR gas is not introduced (ii) In the less EGR region, the

Further, in the middle load region (iii), the
On the other hand, in the EGR region where the internal EGR gas is not introduced (iv), the
As described above, according to the routine shown in FIG. 8, the normal map in FIG. 10 and the low water temperature map in FIG. 11 can be used properly according to the engine coolant temperature Tw. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the internal EGR gas from being supercooled when it is cold, so that priority can be given to early warm-up of the exhaust catalyst. Further, after the warm-up is completed, the internal EGR gas can be adjusted to an appropriate temperature by giving priority to the cooling of the internal EGR gas.
Further, according to the routine shown in FIG. 8, the gas flow can be adjusted according to the presence or absence of the internal EGR gas in the maps of FIGS. 10 and 11. Accordingly, when there is no internal EGR gas, priority can be given to compensation for pressure loss in the
By the way, in
Moreover, FIG. 13 is a figure for demonstrating another method of accommodation degree control of the
In the first embodiment and the modification described above, the
In the first embodiment described above, the exhaust gas recirculation device is applied to the
In the first embodiment described above, the exhaust gas recirculation device is applied to the in-line four-cylinder
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In this embodiment, since the system configuration shown in FIG. 1 is assumed, the description thereof is omitted. Further, in the present embodiment, description will be made centering on differences from the above-described first embodiment, and description of the same matters will be simplified or omitted.

FIG. 14 is an enlarged schematic view of the main part of the exhaust gas recirculation apparatus of the present embodiment. As shown in FIG. 14,
Further,
When the rotation of the partition plate 50 is stopped at the position shown in FIG. 14, the gas flow path 32 described in FIG. 2 is formed by the partition plate 50 and the adjuster member 52. By forming the gas flow path 32, the effective area can be increased near the outlet of the

[Operation of partition plate 50]
Next, the operation of the partition plate 50 will be described with reference to FIG. Fig.16 (a) is a figure corresponding to the plate state of FIG. That is, the gas flow path 32 is formed by the partition plate 50 and the adjuster member 52. FIG. 16B is a diagram corresponding to the port open state of the partition plate 50. That is, in the state of FIG. 16B, the partition plate 50 is tilted to the
A gas flow formed by the operation of the partition plate 50 will be described with reference to FIGS. In these drawings, the
Moreover, FIG. 18 is a figure for demonstrating the gas flow corresponding to the state of Fig.16 (a). As described above, in the state of FIG. 16A, the gas flow path 32 is formed by the partition plate 50. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 18, the internal EGR gas blown back from the
Moreover, FIG. 19 is a figure for demonstrating the gas flow corresponding to the intermediate state of FIG. 16 (a), (b). In the intermediate state of FIGS. 16A and 16B, that is, in the state where the position of the partition plate 50 is between the gas flow path 32 formation state and the port open state, the interior blown back from the
Moreover, FIG. 20 is a figure for demonstrating the gas flow corresponding to the state of FIG.16 (c). As described above, in the state of FIG. 16C, all of the intake ports 24 are closed by the partition plate 50, and communication between the
[Control in Embodiment 2]
As described with reference to FIGS. 17 to 20, the flow of fresh air and internal EGR gas can be adjusted by the operation of the partition plate 50. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the degree of port opening of the partition plate 50 is controlled as in the first embodiment. Since the basic control in this embodiment is the same as that in FIG. 8 of the first embodiment, the following description will focus on the differences with reference to FIGS. 8 to 11 as appropriate.
In
In the low to medium load range (ii), the
In the middle load region (iii), the
On the other hand, in the EGR region where the internal EGR gas is not introduced (iv), the
As described above, according to the control of the present embodiment, the gas flow can be adjusted according to the presence or absence of the internal EGR gas in the maps of FIGS. 10 and 11. Therefore, when there is no internal EGR gas, priority can be given to compensation for pressure loss in the
