Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a medium feeding device that detects the presence or absence of a medium to be fed between a pair of rollers that sandwich and feed a medium to be fed, and a printing apparatus including the medium feeding device.
Conventionally, the outer peripheral surface is made of a conductive material, and a pair of discharge rollers that rotate and feed the printing tape in a sandwiched state, a pressing mechanism that relatively presses the pair of discharge rollers in the clamping direction, It is connected to a pair of contacts that are in contact with the conductive portion, and includes a continuity detection unit that detects a continuity / non-conduction state between the pair of discharge rollers, and detects a printing tape passing between the pair of discharge rollers. A tape printing apparatus (medium feeding apparatus) is known (see Patent Document 1). Thereby, it is possible to detect that the printing tape has reached the discharge roller and to detect that the printing tape has been discharged.
However, in the conventional medium feeding device, when foreign matter adheres to the discharge rollers or the contact between the discharge rollers is poor, even if there is no printing tape between the discharge rollers, the non-conduction is detected by the continuity detection unit. The state was detected, and the presence or absence of the printing tape between the discharge rollers could not be reliably detected.
An object of the present invention is to provide a medium feeding device that can reliably detect the presence or absence of a medium to be fed between a pair of rollers that sandwich and rotate the medium to be fed, and a printing apparatus including the medium feeding device. .
The medium feeding device of the present invention has a first roller and a second roller, sandwiches the medium to be fed and feeds it in rotation, a first rotating body pivotally attached to the first roller shaft of the first roller, A second rotating body that engages with the first rotating body in an overlapped state and is disengaged by a medium to be fed sandwiched between the first rotating body and the second rotating body of the second roller. A forward rotation position where the second rotating body engages with the first rotating body, the second rotating body is engaged with the first rotating body, and is supported so as to be rotatable about the second roller shaft. A rotating body support member configured to be movable between a retracted position where the rotor is engaged and disengaged from the rotating body, and detection means for detecting that the rotating body support member has moved to the retracted position. And
According to this configuration, in the state where there is no medium to be fed between the first roller and the second roller, the second rotating body is engaged with the first rotating body in an overlapping state. When the medium to be fed is inserted between the two rollers, the second rotating body is rotatably supported around the second roller shaft, so that the second rotating body rotates to receive the medium to be fed and perform the first rotation. The body and the second rotating body do not obstruct the passage of the medium to be fed. The second rotating body is disengaged from the first rotating body when the medium to be fed is sandwiched between the second rotating body and the first rotating body. Here, since the second rotating body is disengaged from the first rotating body and the overlap state with the first rotating body is eliminated, the rotating body support member that supports the second rotating body is a medium to be fed. In addition to the thickness of, move from the forward position to the reverse position by the amount of overlap cancellation.
For this reason, even when the thickness of the medium to be fed is thin, the moving distance between the forward movement position and the backward movement position of the rotating body support member can be increased. Therefore, it is possible to accurately detect that the rotating body support member has moved to the retracted position, and it is possible to reliably detect the presence or absence of the medium to be fed between the first roller and the second roller.
On the other hand, even when foreign matter adheres to the first roller and the second roller, or when the contact between the first roller and the second roller is poor, the rotating body support member does not move to the retracted position. There is no false detection of the medium to be sent.
In this case, the shaft portion, the engaging portion that engages with the rotating body support member, reciprocates around the shaft portion in conjunction with the movement between the forward position and the backward position of the rotating body support member, and the rotation And a detected member that reciprocally rotates around the shaft portion in conjunction with the movement between the forward movement position and the backward movement position of the body support member. It is preferable that the detecting means is provided on the outer side in the radial direction than the engaging portion, and is configured to face one rotational end position of the detected portion.
According to this configuration, the detected portion is provided on the outer side in the radial direction with respect to the shaft portion than the engaging portion engaged with the rotating body support member. The rotation distance of the detected part becomes larger than the rotation distance of the engaging part according to the movement distance between the two. Therefore, it can be detected with higher accuracy that the rotating body support member has moved to the retracted position. In addition, the amount of overlap between the first rotating body and the second rotating body is reduced by the amount by which the rotation distance of the detected portion becomes larger than the rotation distance of the engaging portion according to the moving distance of the rotating body support member. A configuration is also possible.
In addition, the detected part of the rotating member is rotated to one rotating end position in conjunction with the movement of the rotating body support member to the retracted position, and the detecting means has the detected part at one rotating end position. By detecting this, it may be detected that the rotating body support member has moved to the retracted position, and conversely, in conjunction with the movement of the rotating body support member to the retracted position, The detected part rotates to the other rotation end position, and the detection means detects that the detected part is not present at the one rotation end position, thereby detecting that the rotating body support member has moved to the retreat position. You may make it do.
In these cases, the first rotating body has a first uneven portion that is uneven in the circumferential direction on the outer peripheral surface thereof, and the second rotating body is uneven in the circumferential direction on the outer peripheral surface and is complementary to the first uneven portion. It is preferable that the second concavo-convex part having a typical shape is formed so as to be engaged with the first rotating body in an overlapping state.
In the case where the medium to be fed is thin or made of a weak material, the medium to be fed sandwiched between the first rotating body and the second rotating body is overlapped with the first rotating body or the second rotating body. By bending into a shape that conforms to the outer peripheral surface of the body, only a part of the overlap is eliminated, so the rotating body support member moves between the forward and backward positions only for a part of the overlap. There is a risk of doing so.
On the other hand, according to this configuration, since the first concavo-convex portion and the second concavo-convex portion have shapes that are concavo-convex in the circumferential direction, the medium to be fed is thin or made of a weak material. However, since the medium to be fed sandwiched between the first rotating body and the second rotating body can be less likely to bend into a shape along the first uneven portion or the second uneven portion, the overlap state is sufficient. Can be resolved. Therefore, the rotating body support member can be reliably moved by the overlap amount.
Further, in these cases, the first rotating body has a first uneven portion that is uneven in the axial direction on the outer peripheral surface, and the second rotating body is uneven in the thickness direction on the outer peripheral surface and the first uneven portion. It is preferable that the second concavo-convex part having a shape complementary to the part is formed so that the first rotator is engaged in an overlapping state.
According to this configuration, the second rotating body can be engaged with the first rotating body in an overlapping state by the first uneven portion and the second uneven portion that are uneven in the axial direction.
In these cases, it is preferable that the detection means is composed of a non-contact type sensor.
It is preferable that the rotating body support member can be moved with as little force as possible so that it can be detected even when the transported medium is thin. However, according to this configuration, as in the case where the detection means is configured by a contact sensor. Since it is not necessary to apply a force to push the contact point of the sensor when the rotating body support member moves to the retracted position, the rotating body support member can be moved with the lightest possible force.
In these cases, the first roller is linked to the first roller in conjunction with the medium setting unit on which the medium to be rotated by the feed roller is set, the opening and closing member that opens and closes the medium setting unit, and the closing of the opening and closing member. It is preferable to further include a separation mechanism that separates and contacts the two rollers between a nip position where the medium to be fed can be sandwiched between the first roller and a separation position separated from the first roller.
According to this configuration, when a part of the medium to be set is located between the first roller and the second roller that rotates and feeds the medium, the opening and closing member is interlocked. As the second roller moves to the separation position, the gap between the first roller and the second roller is widened, and the medium to be fed is surely placed between the first roller and the second roller. A feeding medium can be set. Further, as the second roller moves to the separation position, the second rotating body supported around the second roller shaft is also separated from the first rotating body, so the first rotating body and the second rotation Since the gap with the body is widened, the medium to be fed can be set so that the medium to be fed enters between the first rotating body and the second rotating body.
After the medium to be fed is set in the medium setting unit, the second roller moves to the nip position in conjunction with closing the opening / closing member, so that the medium to be fed is moved by the first roller and the second roller. It can be in a state where it can be rotated.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a printing apparatus including the above-described medium feeding device and a printing unit that performs printing on a medium to be rotated and fed by the medium feeding device.
According to this configuration, it is possible to reliably detect the presence or absence of the medium to be fed between the first roller and the second roller that feed the medium to be printed printed by the printing unit.
Hereinafter, a medium feeding apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the present embodiment, a tape printer is exemplified as the medium feeding device.

As shown in FIG. 7, the

The
The

The
A long hole 183 (see FIG. 10) extending in the sliding direction of the
The
The
The rotating
The rotating
The
Further, an interlocking
When the interlocking

The
With reference to FIGS. 10 to 13, a series of movements around the

Further, as the rotating
In this manner, in conjunction with the opening of the opening /
10 to 13, when the opening /
When the printing tape T is not sandwiched between the driving
As shown in each of FIG. 10 to FIG. 13C, when the printing process is performed and the printing tape T is inserted between the
Then, when the printing tape T is sandwiched between the
In conjunction with the movement of the

As described above, according to the

With reference to FIG. 14, the drive side
The driven-
Although not shown, as in the previous embodiment, the driving
