Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail based on examples shown in the drawings.
The power semiconductor module of Example 1 is used for an inverter mounted on an electric vehicle, for example.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, an inverter INV is connected to the battery B as a power source via a DC power line, and an AC motor M is connected to the inverter INV via a three-phase AC power line. Is done.
As shown in FIG. 2, the inverter INV is connected to a smoothing capacitor N1 that removes low frequency components, a motor control board N2 that controls the AC motor M, a drive board N3 that drives the AC motor M, and the AC motor M. A power semiconductor module N4 that generates a three-phase alternating current to be supplied and a cooler N5 for cooling the heat generated by the inverter INV are provided.
This inverter INV is arranged immediately next to the AC motor M and is placed in a casing D (shown in FIG. 1) in common therewith.
In the above circuit, as shown in FIG. 1, the battery B and the AC motor M have stray capacitances C1 and C4 with respect to the ground GND. Therefore, a common mode current is generated in the same direction with respect to the forward and return paths of the power supply line.
In other words, the common mode current Ic has a magnitude of Ic = Cdv / dt due to the ground capacity between the winding of the motor and the casing D in the motor M having particularly large noise. Here, C is the capacitance of the stray capacitance C4, v is its potential, and t is time. This common mode current becomes radiation noise and adversely affects other components. Therefore, to prevent the common mode current from flowing out, the forward path between battery B and inverter INV and between ground GND and its return path And a line bypass capacitor Cy (a so-called Y capacitor consisting of capacitors C2 and C3) is provided between the ground and the ground. Thus, by providing the Y capacitor Cy, the current path indicated by the thin line arrow in FIG. 1 can be shortened to the current path indicated by the thick line arrow.
In this embodiment, the Y capacitor Cy is connected so that the current path indicated by the thick arrow, which causes radiation noise, is the shortest. That is, in this embodiment, the inverter INV and the AC motor M are integrated and put in a common housing D, and the electrical connection distance between them is shortened. The Y capacitor Cy is arranged in such a structure (the part surrounded by the broken line in FIG. 2). In this case, the Y capacitor Cy is connected to a power line such as a bus bar as in a general method. When trying to do so, the units in the inverter are optimally connected by bus bars, so that it is difficult to connect to the Y capacitor Cy, and the size and the size of the unit become complicated.
Therefore, in this embodiment, the Y capacitor Cy is arranged in the power semiconductor module N4 of the inverter INV and the Y capacitor Cy is grounded to the common casing D so as not to be influenced by the layout of other components. Thus, the path (loop) of the common mode current has a minimum length.

The power elements FWD8 and IGBT9 are made into a parallel circuit to constitute a reversible chopper, and these parallel circuits and two sets constitute an upper arm and a lower arm corresponding to one phase of the AC motor M.
That is, the step-up chopper is constituted by the upper IGBT and the lower FWD, and the step-up chopper is constituted by the lower IGBT and the upper FWD.
These FWD8 and IGBT9 are the first from the top and bottom of the two sets of parallel circuits arranged separately on the left and right sides of the line connecting the

The units stacked and arranged in this way are sealed with a
In the power semiconductor module N4 configured as described above, the current from the battery B flows into the

Further, a negative side line is connected via a Y capacitor composed of a
As a result, the housing D incorporates the inverter INV and the AC motor M installed in the immediate vicinity to become a common ground GND, and the most common mode current flows as shown in FIGS. A short loop will be formed. Thereby, radiation noise to the outside is reduced.
As can be seen from the above description, in the power semiconductor module N4 of the first embodiment, the path through which the common mode current generated by the ground capacitance between the winding of the AC motor M and the housing D flows is the inverter INV. Since a Y capacitor is provided in the power semiconductor module N4 to connect the power semiconductor module N4 and the AC motor M arranged in the immediate vicinity, this path can be minimized and the radiation noise to the outside is increased. It becomes possible to reduce.
In the power semiconductor module N4 of the first embodiment, the first and
Therefore, compared with the case where the Y capacitor is connected to the bus bar of the power semiconductor module N4, the connection is simple, the number of components is reduced, and the size can be reduced.
Next, another embodiment will be described. In the description of the other embodiments, the same components as those of the first embodiment are not shown, or the same reference numerals are given and the description thereof is omitted, and only the differences are described.
In the power semiconductor module of the second embodiment, the
Further, a
Other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment.
In FIG. 8, FWD8 appears as a first FWD8a and a second FWD8b, and IGBT9 appears as a
As a result, in the power semiconductor module according to the second embodiment, the
The
Therefore, also in this case, the path through which the common mode current generated by the ground capacitance between the AC motor M and the housing D flows is formed by a part of the AC motor M, the power semiconductor module, and the Y capacitor inside this. Will be a short path.
As can be seen from the above description, the power semiconductor module of the second embodiment can also obtain the same effects as those of the first embodiment. Moreover, although the capacity of the Y capacitor is smaller than that of the first embodiment, the number of terminals can be reduced.
