Abstract
Description
The present invention provides a tubular member having flexibility, a nip plate that is in sliding contact with an inner peripheral surface of the tubular member, and a nip portion between the tubular member by sandwiching the tubular member between the nip member. The present invention relates to a fixing device provided with a backup member that forms the same.
Conventionally, as a fixing device including a cylindrical member, a nip plate, and a backup member, an end edge on the downstream side in the conveyance direction of the nip plate is slightly bent obliquely upward and then bent on the downstream side in the conveyance direction. There is a known arrangement in which the part downstream in the conveying direction is arranged at a position one step higher than the part forming the nip portion (see Patent Document 1). In this technique, a part of the nip plate on the downstream side in the conveyance direction is formed so as to protrude further downstream in the conveyance direction than the other part, and a temperature sensor is provided on the protruding part. Yes.
However, in the prior art, when the lubricant provided on the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member flows into the upper surface of the other part of the nip plate downstream in the transport direction, the other part and the part are flush with each other. By being connected, the lubricant may reach a part through another part. In this case, there is a problem that accuracy of temperature detection by the temperature sensor is deteriorated.
In view of the above, an object of the present invention is to provide a fixing device capable of suppressing a lubricant from flowing to a portion of a nip plate where a temperature is detected by a temperature sensor (temperature detection member).
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a fixing device for thermally fixing a developer image on a recording sheet while moving the recording sheet in a predetermined direction, and a flexible cylindrical member; The cylindrical member is sandwiched between the nip plate and a heating element arranged inside the cylindrical member, a nip plate arranged inside the cylindrical member and receiving radiant heat from the heating element. A backup member that forms a nip portion with the cylindrical member, a lubricant provided on an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member, and a temperature detection member that detects the temperature of the nip plate.
The nip plate is formed on at least a part of a plate-like portion forming the nip portion and an end edge of the plate-like portion on the downstream side in the predetermined direction, and extends toward the inside in the radial direction of the cylindrical member. A lubricant restricting portion; and a detected portion that extends from an edge of the lubricant restricting portion to one side in a direction along the predetermined direction and detects a temperature by the temperature detecting member.
And the said to-be-detected part is shorter than the said plate-shaped part in the axial direction of the said cylindrical member, and all the both ends edges in the said axial direction are adjacent to space.
According to this configuration, since both end edges in the axial direction of the detected part are adjacent to the space, the parts having the same part as the detected part are provided on both sides in the axial direction of the detected part as in the past. In comparison, the lubricant can be prevented from flowing to the detected part through the part.
Further, in the above-described configuration, the lubricant restricting portion is formed to extend from one end side to the other end side in the axial direction among the end edges of the plate-like portion, and the temperature detecting member of the detected portion. It is desirable that the opposing surfaces be arranged away from the end edge of the lubricant restricting portion in the direction in which the end edge faces.
According to this, since the lubricant regulating portion extends from one end side to the other end side in the axial direction of the edge of the plate-like portion, it is possible to further suppress the lubricant from flowing into the plate-like portion. Further, since the edge of the lubricant restricting portion and the surface of the detected portion facing the temperature detecting member are separated from each other, the lubricant faces the temperature detecting member of the detected portion via the edge of the lubricant restricting portion. It is possible to suppress the flow to the surface.
In the above-described configuration, it is desirable that the lubricant restricting portion is formed at a right angle to the predetermined direction.
According to this, the inflow to the plate-like portion of the lubricant can be effectively blocked.
In the configuration described above, a bent portion having a radius of curvature larger than the radius of curvature of the bent portion between the plate-like portion and the lubricant regulating portion is provided on the upstream side in the predetermined direction of the plate-like portion. Is desirable.
According to this, since the radius of curvature of the bent portion on the upstream side of the nip plate is increased, the tubular member can be favorably guided toward the nip portion by the bent portion. In addition, since the radius of curvature of the bent portion on the downstream side is reduced, the fixing device can be reduced in size in a predetermined direction as compared with the mode in which the radius of curvature of the bent portion on the downstream side is the same as the radius of curvature of the bent portion on the upstream side. Can do.
Further, in the above-described configuration, a downstream guide that is disposed on the downstream side of the nip plate and on the radially outer side of the detected portion and that guides the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member is provided. desirable.
According to this, since it can suppress more reliably that a cylindrical member contacts a to-be-detected part, it can suppress reliably that a lubricant flows directly into a to-be-detected part from the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical member. it can.
In the above-described configuration, the nip plate may be a metal plate.
Moreover, in the above-described configuration, the temperature detection member may be in contact with the detected portion. In addition, when the temperature detection member is in contact with the detected part as described above, the present invention is effective because the influence of the lubricant when detecting the temperature is strong.
In the above-described configuration, a pressing member that presses the temperature detection member toward the detected portion may be provided.
Further, in the configuration described above, a notch portion that is recessed toward the base end side of the lubricant regulating portion is formed in a portion adjacent to the detected portion of the edge of the lubricant regulating portion. desirable.
According to this, it is possible to satisfactorily stop the movement of the lubricant to the detected part at the notch while suppressing the height of the detected part.
According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent the lubricant from flowing to a portion of the nip plate where the temperature is detected by the temperature detection member.

The drum unit 6 mainly includes a

<Detailed configuration of fixing device>
As shown in FIG. 2, the fixing
The fixing
The
The nip
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
The plate-
Note that the inner surface (upper surface) of the plate-
The
In this way, the
Further, since the
Further, the
The
The first
The second
Furthermore, by reducing the radius of curvature R2 of the second
In the present embodiment, the first
In the present embodiment, the
In this way, by supporting the upper surface of the
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the
Each of the three detected
Specifically, the
Moreover, the
Further, a
The
In the present embodiment, the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
The

Each
The
Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, the
Such a
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
An
The
Accordingly, the
As shown in FIG. 4, the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
