2. Description of the Related Art An image reading unit for optically reading an object to be read such as a document is mounted on an apparatus for forming an image such as a scanner or a copying machine. The image reading unit includes: a light source unit that emits light while moving along a reading surface of an object to be read; and an image reading unit that includes an image sensor while refracting light reflected from the object to be read. And a plurality of reflecting members that are directed toward the head.
The image reading unit includes a light source unit, a reflection member, and an image reading unit at a lower part of a platen glass on which an object to be read is placed or a housing (carriage frame) that can be incorporated in an ADF. Are arranged (Patent Document 1). The light source unit is disposed on the upper surface side of the carriage frame so as to face the reading object. The reflection reading unit is located on the back side of the light source unit, and receives a first mirror (first reflecting member) that first receives light reflected from the reading object, and the reading light received by the first mirror as an image. A plurality of relay mirrors (reflecting members) that are refracted a plurality of times for guiding to the reading unit are provided. The number and arrangement of the plurality of mirrors are appropriately set according to the shape and size of the carriage frame and the arrangement configuration of the light source unit and the image reading unit.
The light source unit includes a pair of rod-shaped light guides that extend corresponding to the longitudinal direction of the reading object, a light guide holder that holds the pair of light guides in parallel, and ends of the pair of light guides And a pair of light sources (LEDs) arranged to face the part. This light source unit is attached by incorporating the light guide holder into the upper part of the carriage frame (Patent Document 2).
In the reflection reading unit, the bottom of the carriage frame is obtained by passing the reading light received by the first mirror disposed below the light source unit through a plurality of other relay mirrors disposed in the space of the carriage frame. An optical path is formed by a series of reading light that reaches the image reading unit arranged in FIG.
As described above, since the reflection reading unit located on the back side of the light source unit is provided with a plurality of mirrors that form a reduction optical path by the reading light, it is necessary to secure a wide arrangement space in the carriage frame. . For this reason, it is difficult to reduce the size and thickness of the image reading unit, and the reduction in thickness and size of the mounted scanner and copying machine is limited.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems of the prior art. The object of the present invention is to save space by properly arranging a plurality of mirrors without waste in the effective space of the carriage frame. An object of the present invention is to provide an image reading unit that can secure a necessary optical path length and can be thinned as a whole.
In order to solve the above-described problems, an image reading unit according to the present invention has a rod-like shape extending in the main scanning direction, and has an end surface that captures light at at least one end thereof, and diffuse reflection that diffusely reflects the light captured from the end surface. A light guide having a surface, a light emitting surface for emitting light diffusely reflected by the diffuse reflection surface toward the irradiation surface, a light source facing the end surface of the light guide, and a guide for holding the light guide A light source unit comprising: a light body holder member; a light receiving unit that receives light reflected from the irradiation surface; and a plurality of reflection members that form a reading optical path that guides light reflected from the irradiation surface to the image reading unit (Mirror), the light source unit, and a frame that accommodates the plurality of reflecting members, the frame divides the space facing the irradiation surface into at least two spaces, Forming a first storage portion for storing the light source unit in a space and a second storage portion for storing at least one reflection member of the reflection member in the other adjacent space, and sandwiching the first storage portion. The first reflecting member that first receives the reflected light from the irradiation surface is disposed on the side opposite to the irradiation surface, and between the first reflection member and the reflection member disposed in the other space. A light-shielding member is provided to block light from the reading light path from the first reflecting member from entering the reflecting member in the other space.
Further, the light shielding member includes the light guide holder member or a holder holding member for holding the light guide holder member. Further, the light shielding member is a side surface and a bottom surface on the other space side of the light guide holder member.
前記導光体ホルダ部材は金属などの剛性材料によって形成されるホルダ保持部材によって保持され、前記ホルダ保持部材は、前記導光体ホルダ部材の長手方向の少なくとも一側面と接して前記導光体ホルダ部材が前記ホルダ保持部材に姿勢を矯正するように取付けられる主走査方向に延設される第1基準面と、前記導光体の端面に対し前記光源が所定の間隔を隔てて対峙し取付けられる第2基準面を有する。 The light guide holder member is held by a holder holding member formed of a rigid material such as metal, and the holder holding member is in contact with at least one side surface in the longitudinal direction of the light guide holder member. The light source is attached to the first reference surface extending in the main scanning direction, the member being attached to the holder holding member so as to correct the posture, and the light source body facing each other with a predetermined interval. A second reference surface;
An accommodating portion for accommodating a corner portion disposed at a position closest to an irradiation surface extending in the main scanning direction of the first reflecting member on a surface of the light guide holder member on the first reflecting member side. The corner portion is housed in the housing portion, and the corner portion serves as a light shielding unit that blocks the corner portion from the reflected light from the irradiation surface.
The at least one reflecting member is disposed at a position facing a surface opposite to the reflection reference surface with respect to the reflection reference surface of the first reflection member, and a light source from a reading optical path reflected by the first reflection member. Located on the unit side.
Further, the reflection member disposed in the other space has a second reflection member in a positional relationship in which the opposite surface of the reflection reference surface is directed to the light shielding member in the other space; A third reflecting member disposed farther than the second reflecting member with respect to the first reflecting member, wherein the third reflecting member is moved from the first reflecting member to the next reflecting member by the second reflecting member. It is arranged at a position far from the reading optical path.
The arrangement angle of the second reflecting member and the third reflecting member in the other space is such that the third reflecting member is a reading optical path from the first reflecting member to the next reflecting member rather than the second reflecting member. The angle is small.
In the light source unit, the holder holding member includes the first reference surface, a second reference surface that is substantially orthogonal to the first reference surface and serves as a mounting surface of the light source, and an end of the light guide with respect to the light source. A third reference plane that regulates the position of the portion, and the second reference plane sets the predetermined interval.
The holder holding member has an opening for accommodating the light guide holder member, and the first reference surface is formed on at least one wall extending in the longitudinal direction of the opening.
The light guide holder member has a receiving portion in which the light guide is accommodated, and an outer wall surface extending in the longitudinal direction of the receiving portion comes into contact with the wall of the holder holding member.
The light guide is provided with a flange portion at least at one end in the longitudinal direction thereof, and when the light guide holder is fixed to the holder holding member, the flange of the light guide housed in the light guide holder member is disposed on the holder holding member. The light guide is positioned with respect to the light source in contact with the third reference plane.
According to the image reading unit of the present invention, it is possible to reduce the space on the back side of the light source unit by disposing a part of the reflecting members in the empty space defined by the carriage frame generated by incorporating the light source unit. it can. As a result, the entire image reading unit can be reduced in thickness, and can be sufficiently mounted on a scanner and a copying machine that are becoming more compact.
The reflecting member disposed in the empty space is in a region shielded by the light source unit so as not to directly receive the reflected light from the reading object, and reflects the reflected light from the reading object at first. It arrange | positions facing the back also from the 1st reflective member which receives. The reflecting member disposed in the empty space does not directly receive the light from the first reflecting member, and has a role of relaying the secondary received light toward the image reading unit. By being blocked by the light source unit, it is possible to effectively prevent disturbance light from entering the relayed light.
In other words, by inserting and setting the light source unit to the frame, the inside of the frame is partitioned into a light source unit storage portion and a reflection member storage portion, and at least one light source unit is located in the reflection member storage portion. It has a light blocking function to reduce disturbance light to the reflecting member. By only setting the light source unit on the frame, a part of the light source unit also has a light shielding function, so there is no need to provide a new light shielding member, and the number of parts can be reduced.
Furthermore, since the optical path by the reading light composed of a plurality of reflecting members is formed in the range including the empty space in the carriage frame, the first reflecting member can be disposed immediately below the light source unit. As a result, the distance from the first reflecting member that first receives the reflected light from the reading object can be shortened, so that the reading accuracy is improved. In addition, the corners around the first reflecting member enter the lower space of the light source unit to block the light, thereby preventing the reflected light from the reading object from colliding with the corners around the reflecting member and being irregularly reflected. be able to.

[Configuration of reading carriage]
Next, the reading
First, the overall configuration of the reading
The
As shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, a
The
The
The
The light
The condensing
The

As shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, the reading

The

First, as shown in FIG. 13, the light source unit La is composed of a

[Description of circuit board]

Next, assembly of the light source unit La will be described with reference to FIGS. First, as shown in FIGS. 17 to 19, the light emitters 40 (41, 42) are mounted on the
[Configuration of light guide unit]
Next, the light guide unit will be described with reference to FIGS. 7, 14, 15, 21, and 22. The light guide unit Ga has a symmetrical shape so as to be disposed opposite to the pair of
As shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, the

(Side shape)
As shown in FIGS. 15A and 15B, the side surface 30S uses the protrusion width of the
[Explanation of protrusions]
Moreover, the
[Description of reflector]
Further, the reflecting
Further, as shown in FIG. 15, the above-mentioned light quantity characteristic can be corrected by adjusting the angle of the reflection surface of the
Moreover, it is good also as a structure which inclines the

The light of the

One of the first and second side surfaces 30S of the

On the other hand, the light guide holding member T (T1, T2) is, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 16, the light guide 30 (first

The rigid body KF will be described. The rigid body KF efficiently transmits the heat of the
[Warpage elimination mechanism of light guide and light guide housing member]
As described above, the light guide housing member 13 (13a, 13b) and the light guide holding member T (T1, T2) constituting the light guide support means are formed as separate members, as shown in FIG. By holding the groove
[Face-to-face arrangement of light emitter and light guide]
Next, it supplements regarding arrangement | positioning of the light-emitting body facing a light guide. As shown in FIGS. 21 to 23, an
In addition, as shown in FIG. 23, by arranging the
Further, the position of the
[Positioning of the light emitter facing the light guide]
Next, it supplements regarding positioning of the light-emitting body facing a light guide. As shown in FIGS. 12 and 14, the
Further, the first reference surface KF3 of the rigid body KF having the first attachment reference for determining the attachment position of the light source unit La and the second attachment reference for determining the attachment position of the light guide unit unit has a

Moreover, the
The
In the embodiment in which the gap between the light emitter and the light guide is defined by the reflector, the plane of the circuit board on which the light emitter is mounted is formed on one of the left and right planes of the reflector, and the other surface is formed by one end surface of the light guide. The planes are in direct contact with each other, but the following structures may be used.
Since the reflector surface is coated with a metal film with good reflection efficiency, such as aluminum or silver, a structure in which a thin insulating mylar is sandwiched between the reflector and the circuit board on which the light emitter is mounted is a light emission that is narrowed down by the reflector. A structure in which a thin light-shielding mylar is sandwiched in order to suppress variation in light of the body may be used.
Moreover, although each surface contact | abutted with a reflector is formed in the plane, it does not need to be a plane. For example, when one of the abutting surfaces has an uneven shape, the other may have an inverted uneven shape. Further, when one of the abutting surfaces has a curved surface shape, the other may have an inverted curved surface shape.
In addition, when the light irradiation surface of the light emitter mounted on the circuit board is wide and flat, the light emitter itself may be in contact with the reflector.
Moreover, even if the reflector itself is a structure integrally formed as a part of the light emitter or the light guide, the gap between the light emitter and the light guide may be defined by the reflector of the present invention.
Further, in the above-described embodiment, the light guide is arranged at one end of the light guide and the reflection plate serving as a pseudo light source is arranged at the other end. The same applies to the other end of the light guide to increase the absolute light quantity. When the light emitter is arranged in this structure, the reflector is naturally arranged on the other surface of the light guide.
[Other Examples of Lighting Device]
Next, another embodiment of the above-described lighting device will be described. 23A and 23B are diagrams for explaining the positional relationship between the light emitter and the light guide in the light source unit according to another embodiment corresponding to FIG. 21, wherein FIG. 23A is a side view, and FIG. 23B is one end of the light guide. FIG. 4C is a plan view showing the position of the light emitter relative to the light guide viewed from the light emitter side, and FIG. 5C is a plan view showing the position of the light emitter viewed from the other end side of the light guide. The difference from the light source unit shown in FIG. 21 is that the arrangement and brightness of the light emitter and the light guide differ depending on whether the
In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 23A, in this embodiment, a
[Spectral characteristics of lighting equipment]
Next, the spectral characteristics of the illumination device in the image reading apparatus of the present invention will be described based on the spectral characteristics diagram of FIG. In the figure, the spectral characteristics indicated by P1 to P4 indicate the spectral characteristics obtained when the
[Configuration of image reading control system]
Next, an outline of a control system for reading a document image in the image reading apparatus shown in FIG. 1 will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 25 is a functional block diagram showing a control system for reading a document image in the image reading apparatus. In FIG. 25, a portion surrounded by a two-dot chain line corresponds to the
[Light source control configuration]
The control of the
Actually, the
Accordingly, not only control for simultaneously lighting the
[Anti-reflection between light guides]
Next, the above-described image reading apparatus, that is, a light emitter, a pair of light guides that irradiate the reading surface with the light of the light emitter incident and sandwiching the reading line as a linear light source, and the reading surface In an image reading apparatus including a line sensor that receives light of reflected light as image data, the
[First embodiment]
First, the anti-reflection means between the light guides shown in FIG. 3A will be described. Between the reading surface R and the pair of light guides 30 (30a, 30b), as shown in the figure, A light-shielding plate ST1 (light-reflection preventing means between light guides) is pasted on the
[Second Embodiment]
3B will be described. The other light guide is formed on the emission surface 33 (see FIG. 14) of the pair of light guides 30 (30a, 30b). Is formed of a convex portion ST2 (an anti-reflection means between light guides) having a diffusing surface for diffusing reflected light reflected from the reading surface R. Actually, the convex portion ST2 shown in the drawing protrudes from the
[Third embodiment]
3C will be described. The pair of light guides 30 with respect to the optical axis ho of the reflected light reflected from the reading surface R and reflected in the normal direction as shown in the drawing. (30a, 30b) are arranged in an asymmetric ST3 (light guide between reflection preventing means). In this way, by using asymmetric ST3, the positions of the reflected light beams that are reflected from the reading surface R by the irradiation light from the other light guide that reaches one light guide are shifted from each other. The reflected light * 4 that reaches the body and enters the inside from the
[Fourth embodiment]
Further, as the inter-light guide antireflection means ST, the reflected light repeated between the pair of light guides can be attenuated more effectively by appropriately combining the first to third embodiments described above. I can do it.
As shown in the figure, in the image reading apparatus, the
The illumination apparatus according to the present invention can be used for apparatuses other than the above-described image reading apparatus.
