Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a paper feeding device and an image forming apparatus, and more particularly to a roll paper feeding control mechanism.
As is well known, in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, or a printing machine, for example, in the case of an image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic system, an electrostatic latent image formed on a photosensitive member that is a latent image carrier. Is subjected to visible image processing with a developer supplied from the developing device. The image subjected to the visible image processing is transferred to a recording paper or the like and fixed to be output as a copy.
Some inkjet printers, which are one of image forming apparatuses, can perform printing processing on large-size recording paper such as A0 and A1 plates.
In many cases, roll paper is used as the recording paper used for such printing processing because it is not stacked in a paper feed cassette but can be fed out a desired length.
The configuration of the paper feeding device using roll paper is that the roll paper is fed out toward the printing unit, and after the printing process is performed in the printing unit, the portion carrying the print image is cut, and the unprinted portion A configuration is known in which roll paper is rewound to the roll paper side.
One of the reasons for rewinding the roll paper is that the unprinted end portion in the feeding direction is positioned at the feeding start position when feeding the paper toward the printing unit, and is used as a reference for calculating the feeding amount with respect to the printing unit. .
On the other hand, the roll paper may have a rear end, that is, a terminal end bonded to a core shaft such as a paper tube, or may be non-adhered. In addition, even when bonded, it is strong enough to be peeled off by tension generated during pulling and conveying by a registration roller that is a nipping and conveying member disposed in front of the printing unit and when adhered without being peeled off. Sometimes it is glued.
When roll paper fed toward the printing unit is bonded to the core shaft at the rear end in the feeding direction, there is a possibility that printing cannot be performed on the area up to the rear end or that conveyance failure may occur. It is necessary to determine the state of the rear end, that is, whether or not it is bonded.
Conventionally, as a configuration for detecting the trailing edge of the roll paper, there is provided a motor abnormality detecting means for detecting a load change depending on the end state in the driving motor of the registration roller. When there is a difference in the result of indexing from the encoder, the registration roller drive speed is changed, and in this state, the conveyance failure state when the termination is in an adhesive state is determined to determine the adhesion state of the termination Has been proposed (for example, Patent Document 1).
In the configuration disclosed in
On the other hand, when it is detected that the end of the roll paper is adhered, the registration roller is stopped and the roll paper is left in the conveyance system path. For this reason, for example, when a configuration capable of feeding paper from a plurality of roll papers is targeted, there is a possibility that the roll paper newly fed out by the roll paper left in the transport path may be hindered. .
An object of the present invention is to reduce the time required for detection in consideration of the problems in the conventional paper feeding device, particularly in the configuration for detecting the end state of the roll paper, and also due to changes in the diameter and weight of the roll paper. An object of the present invention is to provide a sheet feeding device having a configuration that enables determination of a terminal state without causing erroneous detection even when a change in conveyance load occurs.

In order to achieve this object, the present invention has the following configuration.
(1) a roll paper nipping / conveying roller that is rotatable in at least one roll paper feed direction and return direction;

A sliding rotation means side gear, and an intermediate rotation shaft that supports the clutch side gear and is provided on the drive side of the sliding rotation means,
In the paper feeding device that regulates rotation transmission by the one-way clutch and sliding rotation means according to the state of rotation from the roll paper side transmitted to the rotational force transmission mechanism and rotation from the drive motor side,
A rotation detection means capable of detecting a change in the rotation speed of the drive motor and a current value detection means capable of detecting a change in the current value of the drive motor are connected to the input side, and the drive section of the drive motor and the nipping and conveying roller outputs With a control unit connected to the side,
The control unit determines that the feeding from the roll paper is finished when the rotation amount of the drive motor has changed to less than a predetermined rotation amount based on information from the rotation detection unit, and from the current value detection unit The sheet feeding device according to
(2) When the control unit determines that the end of the roll paper is adhered to the roll core shaft, the control unit stops feeding the roll paper and determines that the roll paper is not in an adhesive state. The paper feeding device according to (1), wherein the feeding of the roll paper is continued.
(3) The control unit corrects the feeding amount of the roll paper when it is determined that the end of the roll paper is not in an adhesive state with respect to the roll shaft of the roll paper (1) or ( 2) The sheet feeding device described above.
(4) When the control unit determines that the end of the roll paper to be detected is bonded to the core shaft of the roll paper when a plurality of the roll papers are provided, the control unit becomes the detection target. The sheet feeding device according to (1), wherein the feeding state of the roll paper is set together with information from the means.
(6) An image forming apparatus using the paper feeding device described in one of (1) to (5).
According to the present invention, since the end of the roll paper can be detected for the drive motor used for the roll paper returning operation, the detection result can be quickly determined. In addition, by using a drive motor as a detection target instead of the nipping / conveying roller, the detection error can be reduced because it is less affected by variations in the conveyance load due to the diameter change or weight of the roll paper that occurs during nipping / conveying.
In addition, by using the current value change of the drive motor at the time of detection, it is possible to simultaneously detect the adhesion state at the end, and according to this result, the roll paper feeding state can be set. Makes it possible to record an image up to the end of the roll, and when it is bonded, particularly when a plurality of roll papers are used, it is possible to prevent the roll-out of new roll papers from being hindered by enabling quick return.
Furthermore, once the change in the amount of rotation of the drive motor is detected, the change in the amount of rotation can be detected again, so that the case where the rear end that was originally bonded is peeled off can also be detected. Can do.

In the present embodiment, the rotational force transmission mechanism 5 has a drive unit that is rotated forward by the

The rotation shaft 51A and the
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing an aspect during normal conveyance of the
In FIG. 4, when the
As a result, in the
In such a state, the rotational load of the sliding rotation means
As described above, during normal conveyance, the differential condition between the drive side and the driven side in the
The characteristics of the present invention will be described with the above configuration as an object.
The feature of the present invention is to detect the change in the rotation amount of the drive motor and the change in the current value supplied to the drive motor to detect the adhesion state of the trailing edge of the roll paper and to set the roll paper to be fed or returned depending on the adhesion state. Is to do.
FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing a configuration of a control unit used to achieve this feature.
In the figure, the
The
Hereinafter, regarding the adhesion state of the roll paper end determined by the control unit, the relationship between the adhesion state and the conveyance state will be described.
FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating a conveyance state during normal conveyance. In FIG. 6, the difference between the traction force generated by the
On the other hand, FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a conveyance state when the end of the roll paper is not bonded to the core shaft. In FIG. 7, when the end of the roll paper is separated from the core shaft, the roll paper is acting during feeding. When the traction force is lost, the differential action at the
FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a conveyance state when the roll paper end is bonded to the core shaft. In FIG. 8, when the roll paper end is pulled by the
FIG. 9 is a diagram showing changes in the rotation amount and current value of the drive motor DM according to the above-described adhesion state. FIG. 9A shows the non-adhesion state shown in FIG. ) Shows the adhesive state shown in FIG.
In the figure, the number of rotations of the roll paper is shown to increase as the winding diameter decreases.
As shown in (A), when the roll paper end is in the non-bonded state, the amount of rotation gradually decreases due to inertial rotation when the end is separated from the core shaft, and when the end is separated, the drive motor DM is turned on. The current value also decreases as the amount of rotation decreases.
On the other hand, as shown in (B), when the end of the roll paper is in the bonded state, the end of the roll paper is pulled and pulled by the

(1) When the end is not bonded, the end is conveyed toward the printing unit in the same manner as a generally known cut sheet feeding.
(2) When the setting of (1) is executed, the conveyance amount of the roll paper by the
(3) When the end is bonded, the conveyance of the roll paper is stopped, and when a plurality of roll papers are prepared, the roll paper in the stopped state is rewound.
(4) After determining that it is in the adhesive state, the roll paper is continuously pulled out for a predetermined time, and the rotation amount change and current value change in the drive motor are monitored again within the continuous period, and the rotation amount is monitored. When there is a change and a current value change, it is determined that the terminal end in the bonded state has been peeled off from the core shaft, and the setting of (2) is executed. The state of the rotation amount change and current value change in this case is shown in FIG. In FIG. 9C, only the rotation amount change is shown. In FIG. 9C, the set value (N1) for judging the change in the rotation amount when the end is peeled off from the core shaft is taken out in consideration of a slight rotation from the stopped state when the end is detected. The value is lower than that at the start.
Since the present embodiment is configured as described above, the operation of the control unit will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.
The rotation amount of the drive motor DM is discriminated based on information from the rotation amount sensor S1, and when it is less than the rotation amount at the time of normal conveyance, it is determined that the roll paper is at the end (ST1, 2).
The current value change at this time is discriminated (ST3). If the current value is less than the current value during normal conveyance, it is determined that the adhesive state is not present, and if there is no change in the current value, the adhesive state is determined. (ST4, 5).
If it is determined in step ST4 that it is in the non-adhered state, the conveyance operation is continued after correcting the conveyance amount by the
The correction of the conveyance amount in this case is for preventing the change in the conveyance amount fed out from the
On the other hand, if it is determined in step ST5 that the end is bonded to the core shaft, as shown in FIG. 9C, a monitoring time is set, and a change in the rotation amount within the monitoring time is monitored. . In this case, when the rotation amount returns to a state close to the threshold used in step ST1, it can be determined that the bonded end has been peeled off from the core shaft, and the process proceeds to step 6.
If the rotation amount does not return in step ST9, it is determined that the terminal end remains adhered to the core shaft, and the drive motor DM is driven in reverse so as to rewind the roll paper.
As shown in FIG. 2, when a plurality of roll papers are prepared, it is determined whether or not there is another roll paper. Then, feeding out another roll paper is started (ST11, 12).
In such a process, when another roll paper is prepared, when the roll paper is fed out, the roll paper to which the end is bonded is not left in the conveyance path so that the feeding of the other roll paper is not hindered. You can
In the embodiment as described above, not the registration motor driving motor used for conveying and sandwiching the roll paper, but the driving motor provided at the roll paper feeding portion and rotationally driven in the direction of returning the roll paper is the target. The adhesion state can be determined. For this reason, there is no misjudgment of using the case where the transfer load of the registration roller is changed due to the change in the weight or outer diameter of the roll paper on the registration roller side to determine the adhesion state.
In addition, when the end non-bonding state is determined, the roll paper can be continuously fed out so that the use efficiency of the roll paper is not lowered.
Also, when judging the adhesive state at the end, it is possible to determine both when it is firmly bonded according to the adhesive state at the end or when it is a product specification that peels off due to traction force, and when it is a product specification that peels off In the same manner as in the non-adhered state, the use efficiency of the roll paper can be prevented from being lowered.
