Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a developing unit, a process cartridge having the developing unit, and an image forming apparatus in which the process cartridge is detachable.
Here, in the present invention, the developing unit is an integral unit of process means acting on the electrophotographic photosensitive member. For example, a developer carrying member (hereinafter referred to as a developing roller) and a developer regulating member (hereinafter referred to as a developing blade), which are developing means as the process means, may be unitized.
The process cartridge is a cartridge in which an electrophotographic photosensitive member and process means acting on the electrophotographic photosensitive member are integrally formed, and is detachably attached to the main body of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus. . For example, an electrophotographic photosensitive member and at least one of a developing unit, a charging unit, and a cleaning unit as the process unit are integrally formed into a cartridge.
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus (image forming apparatus) forms an image on a recording medium using an electrophotographic image forming system. Examples of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus include an electrophotographic copying machine, an electrophotographic printer (such as an LED printer and a laser beam printer), a facsimile machine, and a word processor.
The main body of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus is an electrophotographic image forming apparatus portion excluding the process cartridge.
Conventionally, some electrophotographic image forming apparatuses using an electrophotographic image forming process use a process cartridge. Such a process cartridge is known in which detection means for detecting the amount of developer inside is provided. This detection means is composed of, for example, a conductive detection member provided inside the developer storage frame, and detects the amount of developer by detecting the capacitance with the developing roller. As an invention relating to such a detection member, an invention described in Patent Document 1 is disclosed.
In the invention described in Patent Document 1, the detection member is provided inside the developer storage frame and is provided in a path portion that connects the inside and the outside of the developer storage frame in order to establish conduction with the image forming apparatus main body. A developer sealing configuration is provided. In this developer sealing configuration, the periphery of the electrode rod that forms the conduction path of the detection member is sealed by a sealing member made of an elastic body.
However, in the invention described in Patent Document 1, it is necessary to provide a seal member in order to seal the developer in the conduction path of the detection member. In order to obtain the required developer sealing performance, it is necessary to improve the dimensional accuracy of the seal member and the accuracy of application to the developer storage frame.
In view of the above circumstances, the present invention realizes the sealing of the developer from the conduction path of the detection member with a simple configuration without improving the dimensional accuracy of the seal member and the accuracy of application to the developer storage frame. An object of the present invention is to provide a developing unit capable of performing the above.
In order to achieve the above object, the developing unit of the present invention includes a developer carrying member for carrying a developer for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrying member, and a developer containing a developer. A frame that forms a portion, and a detection member that detects the amount of developer inside the developer accommodating portion, wherein the frame and the detection member are integrally molded, and the detection member is A detection unit provided inside the developer storage unit, a contact unit provided outside the developer storage unit, and a path unit connecting the detection unit and the contact unit, the path unit is The frame body is covered with a resin.
According to the present invention, the developer can be sealed from the conduction path of the detection member with a simple configuration without improving the dimensional accuracy of the seal member and the accuracy of application to the developer storage frame.
DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, embodiments for carrying out the present invention will be exemplarily described in detail with reference to the drawings. However, since the dimensions, materials, shapes, relative positions, etc. of the components described in this embodiment are appropriately changed depending on the configuration of the apparatus to which the invention is applied and various conditions, there is no specific description. As long as the scope of the invention is not limited to these, it is not intended.

Next, an outline of the image forming process will be described. Based on the print start signal, the electrophotographic photosensitive drum (hereinafter referred to as drum) 20 rotates in the direction of arrow R1 (FIG. 2) with a predetermined peripheral speed (process speed). A
The
More specifically, the
Here, the operation of the developing
Here, returning to FIG. On the other hand, the sheet P stored in the lower part of the apparatus
The sheet P on which the developer image has been transferred is separated from the
On the other hand, the
FIG. 2 is an enlarged cross-sectional view showing the configuration of the
The developing

FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the developing

As shown in FIG. 4A, the

図5(a)は、図4(a)のA−A線に沿う一部拡大断面である。

6A and 6B, a description will be given of a case where a manufacturing error occurs due to a shift in the outer dimension of the
According to the configuration of the first embodiment, the following effects can be obtained. (1) The
(2) Further, there may be a manufacturing error such as a deviation of the outer dimension of the
(3) Furthermore, since the
(4) Further, it is necessary to provide a plurality of contact members for forming a conductive path inside the cartridge by a configuration in which the main body contact of the apparatus
(5) Further, since there is no contact portion inside the cartridge, the reliability of the conductive performance is improved.
FIG. 7 is a partially enlarged perspective view illustrating a configuration of the
The
Therefore, a stepped
FIG. 7B is a perspective view illustrating a configuration of a
According to the configuration of the second embodiment, the following effects can be obtained. The

As shown in FIG. 9C, the
FIG. 10 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the developing
According to the configuration of the third embodiment, the following effects (there are some similar to the first and second embodiments) can be obtained. (1) The
(2) In addition, there may be a manufacturing error such as a deviation of the outer dimension of the
(3) Furthermore, since the
(4) With the configuration in which the main body contact of the apparatus
