Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a developing device, a process cartridge, and an image forming apparatus.
In an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile machine, or a complex machine of these, it is widely performed that a developer is enclosed in a developing device in advance at the time of shipment from a factory and then incorporated into the image forming device. In such a developing apparatus, generally, a sealing member (sealing seal member) for sealing the developer so as not to leak from a gap between the developing housing housing the developer and the developing roller attached thereto is disposed. Yes. For this reason, in order to use the image forming apparatus, it is necessary to perform an operation of removing the sealing member disposed in the developing device at the start of use.
For example,
By the way, in the developing apparatus as described above, a new article detecting function for detecting whether or not the developing apparatus set in the image forming apparatus is new, a toner color detecting function for detecting the toner color of the developing apparatus, and the like are provided. It has been. For example, a toner color detection function may employ a mechanism that cannot set a developing device of an incompatible color in the image forming apparatus, so-called mechanical incompatibility.
However, in the developing device adopting mechanical incompatibility, there is a possibility that the developing device may be damaged when the user forcibly sets the developing device in a different place.
Further, in the conventional developing device, when trying to achieve the automatic winding function of the sealing seal member and the function as an agitation auxiliary member for assisting the agitation of the developer, the number of parts increases, and the cost is reduced. It was not preferable from the viewpoint of low environmental load.
In addition, when adding a developer agitation assisting member in a conventional developing device, if the agitation assisting member is simply attached to the side surface of the developing device with an adhesive or the like, the agitation assisting member may be peeled off and durability There was a problem.
Further, in the conventional developing device, when the agitation auxiliary member is affixed, the agitation assisting member has to be affixed in a narrow place, and the assemblability is poor.

Next, the configuration of the image forming device and the developing device will be described. Each apparatus configuration is the same except that the color of the supplied toner as the developer is different, and therefore the
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view showing a configuration of the image forming apparatus, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a magnetic force distribution in the image forming apparatus shown in FIG. The

Further, in the present embodiment, each toner bottle is detachably attached to each image forming apparatus from the apparatus
A toner having a sphericity of 0.93 or more can also be used as the toner used in this embodiment. In other words, it is known to reduce the toner particle size in order to improve the image quality of the image, but in the case of reducing the particle size, the conventional pulverized toner has a particle size distribution that is broad. There is a characteristic that it is difficult. Therefore, it is possible to achieve high image quality by increasing the circularity of the toner by a polymerization method or the like and by making the particle size distribution sharp. However, when the circularity of the toner is increased, the toner approaches a spherical shape, so that cleaning with the
The developing device according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described below.

Next, a method for fixing the stirring auxiliary member of the developing device according to the present embodiment will be described.
FIG. 8 is a view showing the configuration of the stirring assisting member of this embodiment, and FIG. 9 is a view showing an example of a fixing mechanism for fixing the stirring assisting member.

Next, a method for separating the seal winding shaft and the drive shaft and the operation thereof will be described with reference to FIG.
In the present embodiment, the seal take-up
When the drive source of the seal take-up
Of course, the drive source of the seal take-up
In FIG. 11, a
At this time, the torque applied to the seal take-up
If comprised in this way, the sealing
Furthermore, since the stirring
Further, if the drive source dedicated to the seal take-up mechanism is eliminated, the cost can be further reduced and the number of parts can be reduced as described above.
<Second embodiment>
Next, a second example of the developing device of the present embodiment will be described.
FIG. 12 is a diagram illustrating a detection sensor provided in the developing device according to the present embodiment.
As shown in FIG. 12, in the developing device according to the present embodiment, the
With this configuration, when the developing device is set in the image forming apparatus, the sealing
Accordingly, for example, when a new developing device is set in the image forming apparatus, the image forming apparatus can automatically start the initial agent setting operation.
FIG. 13 is a diagram illustrating an example of an initial agent setting operation process executed by the image forming apparatus.
In this case, in step S1, the control unit of the image forming apparatus determines whether or not the developing device is set and the front cover of the image forming apparatus is closed. If it is determined in step S1 that the developing device is set and the front cover of the image forming apparatus is closed, in the subsequent step S2, it is determined whether or not the sealing

<Third embodiment>
Next, a third example of the developing device of the present embodiment will be described.
In the second embodiment, an opaque process is applied to the sealing
14 and 15 are diagrams showing a toner color detection function by the developing device of the present embodiment.
In the example shown in FIG. 14, a thin film made of a conductive material such as a metal is coated on the sealing
In the example shown in FIG. 15, the length of the identification member 210 (Y, M, C, B) is changed corresponding to each toner color as shown in FIG. (B) As shown in (c), the detection sensor 200 (Y, M, C, and so on) according to the length of time during which the current flows when winding the sealing seal member 160 (Y, M, C, B). In B), the toner color is discriminated.
According to this configuration, when the user sets a developing device of a specific toner color, even if another developing device of another toner color is set by mistake, it can be determined by the toner color detection function. Toner color mixing can be prevented.
<Fourth embodiment>
Next, a fourth example of the developing device according to the present embodiment will be described.
FIG. 16 is a diagram showing a new article detection function by the developing device of the present embodiment.
In the developing device shown in FIG. 16, the sealing
<Fifth embodiment>
Next, a fifth example of the developing device of the present embodiment will be described.
17 and 18 are diagrams showing a toner color detection function by the developing device of the present embodiment.
The toner color detection function of the developing device shown in FIGS. 17 and 18 is different from the toner color detection function of the developing device shown in FIGS. 14 and 15 in that the seal pattern 160 (Y, M, C, B) is written, and the
In the example shown in FIG. 17, the positions of the four detection sensors 200 (Y, M, C, B) and the identification patterns 220 (Y, M, C, B) corresponding to the toner colors as shown in FIG. ) By changing the writing position, as shown in FIGS. 17B and 17C, the toner color is changed by the detection sensor 200 (Y, M, C, B) depending on the position of the identification pattern. I'm trying to determine the type of.
In the example shown in FIG. 18, one
<Sixth embodiment>
FIG. 19 is a diagram illustrating a sixth example of the developing device according to the present embodiment.
In FIG. 19, for example, a barcode-shaped
If comprised in this way, it will become possible to accumulate | store much information by the sealing
Further, in this case, since it is possible to detect even more detailed information by the
In addition to the life of the developing device (number of printed sheets), for example, information such as toner color, manufacturing information (manufacturing location, date, lot number), and the like can be stored in the identification pattern.
Further, if manufacturing information of the developing device is stored in the image forming apparatus, there is an advantage that information confirmation can be monitored immediately when a malfunction or failure occurs.
As described above, in the developing device according to the present embodiment, the sealing
In other words, there is a problem that, for example, a developing device using a mechanical incompatibility in the past may cause the user to forcibly set the developing device at a different location and damage the developing device, for example, the toner color detection function may not function. There is an advantage that there is no fear of occurrence.
Some toner color detection functions other than mechanical incompatibility use an ID chip. In a developing device equipped with an ID chip, after a new developing device is set in the image forming apparatus, the toner color detection operation is started by turning on the power. In a developing device equipped with such an ID chip, the cost of a developing device alone that has an opportunity to be replaced increases by the amount corresponding to the ID chip. On the other hand, the developing device of the present embodiment can record information on the sealing
