Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric actuator having improved hysteresis characteristics.
When the user presses the touch panel, it may not be possible to clearly recognize whether or not the touch panel has been pressed. In such a case, an erroneous operation such as pressing the same region twice will be caused. In order to prevent the erroneous operation as described above in the touch panel to which the piezoelectric actuator is applied, a means of driving the piezoelectric actuator with a large voltage and transmitting the amplitude to the user's finger can be considered. However, since the piezoelectric material constituting the piezoelectric actuator has a hysteresis characteristic, when it is driven with a large voltage, the harmonic distortion component becomes large, and unnecessary power is consumed. That is, there is a problem that low power consumption, which is one of the advantages of the piezoelectric actuator, is lost.
As a technique for improving the hysteresis characteristics of a piezoelectric actuator, for example, there are those disclosed in
As a piezoelectric actuator having a relatively small hysteresis characteristic, for example, there is a bimorph type disclosed in Patent Document 3. Generally, a bimorph type piezoelectric actuator is configured by bonding a piezoelectric member to both surfaces of a metal shim. Piezoelectric members provided with a metal shim interposed therebetween are polarized in opposite directions and driven. In this way, ideally, the hysteresis characteristic of one piezoelectric member is canceled by the hysteresis characteristic of the other piezoelectric member. Therefore, the hysteresis characteristics of the piezoelectric actuator as a whole can be improved. The piezoelectric actuator disclosed in Patent Document 3 attempts to obtain a large amount of displacement by stacking general bimorph piezoelectric actuators.
In the case of a bimorph type piezoelectric actuator, if the hysteresis characteristics of the piezoelectric members to be paired greatly differ, mutual cancellation of the desired hysteresis characteristics does not occur, and the characteristics of the entire piezoelectric actuator deteriorate. On the other hand, the piezoelectric member generally has variations in characteristics due to its manufacturing process and the like. For example, even if the piezoelectric members are sintered on the same sintered setter, the resulting piezoelectric member varies in size and characteristics depending on the position on the sintered setter. Therefore, in order to improve the characteristics of the entire piezoelectric actuator, it is necessary to thoroughly pair the piezoelectric members.
However, in addition to the problem of increased work costs when focusing on the pairing work, the piezoelectric members that were not selected in the pairing work may become waste, which is environmentally friendly. Is also not preferable.
Further, as the metal shim, an
In view of such circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide a piezoelectric actuator having a novel structure and improved hysteresis characteristics, and an apparatus using the piezoelectric actuator.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a method for manufacturing the above-described piezoelectric actuator.
If a metal shim is interposed, a bonding process between the metal shim and the piezoelectric member is required, which increases the cost. Therefore, an insulating layer is interposed instead of the metal shim at the position where the metal shim was interposed. And
When separately sintered piezoelectric members are selected and paired, the influence of variations in the hysteresis characteristics of the piezoelectric members cannot be avoided. In order to eliminate variations, the piezoelectric members to be paired are sintered in a stacked state, and then a polarization process is performed.
After the piezoelectric members are stacked and sintered, the polarization process is performed so that the polarization distribution is reversed up and down with the insulating layer as the center, while the input signal with reversed phase is applied like a bimorph type piezoelectric actuator. In order to make it possible, there must be at least four electrodes (surface electrodes) to be external connection terminals. In this way, when there are four or more external connection terminals, voltages having different polarities can be applied to the two electrodes during the polarization process and during the actual driving, whereby the polarization process and the bimorph type piezoelectric as described above can be applied. Both the actuator and the same drive can be performed. The present invention has been made based on such knowledge, and specifically provides the means for solving the following.

In addition, according to the present invention, there is provided a method for manufacturing any one of the first to seventh piezoelectric actuators,
A piezoelectric green sheet on which the conductive pattern to be the surface electrode or the upper internal electrode is formed is laminated on the insulating layer as the upper piezoelectric member, and the piezoelectric body on which the conductive pattern to be the lower electrode is formed After laminating a green sheet as the lower piezoelectric member under the insulating layer, the whole is pressed to form a piezoelectric element before sintering;
Sintering the piezoelectric element before sintering to obtain a piezoelectric element after sintering;
And a step of subjecting the sintered piezoelectric element to a polarization treatment so that a polarization distribution centered on the insulating layer is vertically symmetrical.
According to the present invention, since four or more representation electrodes are provided, the piezoelectric actuator is substantially constructed by laminating piezoelectric members and sintering or the like, and then using four or more surface electrodes. While performing the polarization treatment, the piezoelectric actuator can be driven by changing the voltage applied to the same surface electrode in actual use. Thereby, it can be driven by a driving method similar to that of a general bimorph type piezoelectric actuator, although it has a different structure. Since the piezoelectric members constituting the piezoelectric actuator are sintered after being laminated, the sintering conditions are the same for all piezoelectric members, similar to the cancellation of hysteresis characteristics in bimorph piezoelectric actuators. This effect can be realized in an ideally close state.
Therefore, when the piezoelectric actuator according to the present invention is driven by a driving method similar to a general bimorph piezoelectric actuator (a method of driving by supplying driving signals having opposite phases to each other), generation of harmonic distortion components is suppressed. Can reduce unnecessary power consumption.
Furthermore, in the case of a general bimorph type piezoelectric actuator, it was impossible to separately bias signals of different polarities due to the arrangement and structure of the electrodes, but in the case of a piezoelectric actuator having the structure of the present invention, the polarity Since it is possible to drive in the opposite phase while performing different bias adjustment for each, adjustment according to the piezoelectric material used for the piezoelectric actuator can be performed in the form of bias, and the generation of harmonic distortion components is further suppressed. be able to.
As shown in FIG. 1, a
The
The
The
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the
In the present embodiment, the
In the present embodiment, the number (the number of stacked layers) of the upper
The
Referring to FIG. 4, the driving
The
The

(Example)
Based on PZT (NEC TOKIN's piezoelectric ceramic material N10), after adding a binder material and carrying out a blending operation called mud, a 36-μm green sheet was created, and silver and palladium were used as a co-material. An internal electrode pattern made of the piezoelectric ceramic material N10 was printed. At this point, the green sheet is in the form of a roll, so it is trimmed to A4 size, the trimmed sheet is placed in a press mold and stacked in 40 layers, and then about 100 ° C. Pressing was performed under the condition of 120 kg / cm 2 to form a piezoelectric element before sintering. Thereafter, the pre-sintered piezoelectric element was sintered and cut in a dicing process to obtain a post-sintered piezoelectric element made of a rectangular piezoelectric ceramic plate (see FIG. 2). Here, the size of the sintered piezoelectric element is 40 mm long × 3.0 mm wide × 1.35 mm thick. After the sintering, the piezoelectric element was subjected to the polarization treatment as described above (the polarization treatment so as to be symmetrical with respect to the insulating layer), and then connected as shown in FIG.
The
As is apparent from FIG. 5, the total harmonic distortion factor of the
