Papermaking process water, also known as white water, which is suspension water mainly composed of pulp, and papermaking materials such as starch slurry or its dissolving paste solution, polyacrylamide solution, dye solution, filler such as kaolin and calcium carbonate, and pigment slurry solution Aqueous compositions are subject to spoilage and contamination by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi, and viscous foreign substances called biofilms are formed by the progress. A biofilm is a collection of microorganisms containing microbial secretions, but this formation causes various obstacles.
In order to avoid this obstacle, methods using physical and chemical treatments have been adopted, and one of the most common methods is the addition of antibacterial substances. For the purpose of broadening the spectrum or exhibiting the effect with a smaller addition amount, not only one antibacterial substance but also two kinds of antibacterial substances are mixed or added together. For example, a composition containing polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride and 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol is disclosed in Patent Document 1, polyhexamethylene biguanide and 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide. Patent Document 2 discloses a composition containing polyhexamethylene biguanide and 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide and / or 2,2-dibromo-2-nitroethanol. A composition containing hexamethylene biguanide and an isothiazoline compound is disclosed in Patent Document 4, a composition containing polyhexamethylene biguanide and 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one is disclosed in Patent Document 5, and 5-chloro-2- Isothiazoline compounds containing methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2,2-dibu A composition containing a halogenated aliphatic nitroalcohol containing mo-2-nitroethanol or 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol is disclosed in Patent Document 6 as 2,2-dibromo-2-nitroethanol and A composition containing methylene bisthiocynate is disclosed in US Pat.

(An antibacterial test against white water from paper companies)
Dispense white water collected from a paper company into a test tube, add each antibacterial composition to 25 ppm to 50 ppm, hold at 30 ° C., and use a normal agar medium for the number of viable bacteria 30 minutes after addition. The bactericidal property was evaluated by measuring by a flat plate pour method. At the same time, the white water collected from Sumi Paper Company is aseptically filtered, then a normal liquid medium is added to a concentration of 1/10, and 1% of white water before aseptic filtration is added, and then each antibacterial composition becomes 2 ppm. The bacteriostatic property was evaluated based on the time required for the absorbance at a wavelength of 600 nm to reach 0.3 by automatically measuring the turbidity over time and adding the solution at 30 ° C. The test results are shown in Table 2. It can be seen that the antibacterial composition of this example has an excellent balance between bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties.

After adding 100 ppm of each antibacterial composition to a 1% dilution of a liquid dye for papermaking, 1% was inoculated with the same product (viable bacterial count; 1.0 × 10 6 CFU / ml) that had been spoiled beforehand. This was cultured at 30 ° C. in a sealed stationary condition, and the number of viable bacteria over time was measured by a plate pour method using a thioglycolic acid agar medium to determine the antibacterial effect. After measuring the number of viable bacteria, 1% of the spoiled product was inoculated every week. The test results are shown in Table 4. It can be seen that the antibacterial composition of this example exhibits good antibacterial performance.
(Antimicrobial test for starch)
After adding 200 ppm of each antibacterial composition to the tapioca starch paste solution, 1% of the same product (viable bacterial count; 2.0 × 10 7 CFU / ml) that had been previously rotted was inoculated. This was cultured at 30 ° C. in a sealed stationary condition, and the number of viable bacteria over time was measured by a plate pour method using a thioglycolic acid agar medium to determine the antibacterial effect. In addition, after viable count, 1% inoculation was carried out 1 week later with the spoiled starch paste solution. It can be seen that the antibacterial composition of this example exhibits good antibacterial performance.
