Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image forming system including a post-processing apparatus that bundles punched sheets and performs bookbinding processing using a ring binder.
2. Description of the Related Art A bookbinding apparatus that binds a plurality of sheets on which images have been formed by a copier, a printer, or the like, and performs bookbinding processing on the bundle, and an image forming system including the bookbinding apparatus are known.
The bookbinding process includes a bookbinding process using staples and a bookbinding process using an adhesive. As another bookbinding process, there is a ring bookbinding process. In this method, a punched sheet is bundled and aligned, and a bookbinding process is performed by passing a metal coil through a hole in the aligned sheet bundle or by passing a ring of a ring binder.
FIG. 14 shows an example of a booklet bk created using a ring binder provided with a belt-like surplus part. FIG. 14A is a perspective view showing a state of the booklet bk immediately after being created. In this state, the belt-
FIG. 15 is a schematic diagram illustrating the printing order in the image forming system for creating a booklet in the state shown in FIG. FIG. 15A is a diagram showing a document reading order, FIG. 15B is a diagram showing the order in which image data obtained by reading is printed, and FIG. 15C is a stack in the printing order. FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating a state in which sheets are stacked in a section to create a sheet bundle, and the created sheet bundle is bound by a ring binder rb. Moreover, the
In order to obtain a booklet bk as shown in FIG. 14, the last nth sheet is placed on the bottom layer as shown in FIG. ) Create a stack of sheets by stacking sheets of paper. A booklet bk as shown in FIG. 14A is created by attaching a ring binder rb to the created sheet bundle. That is, as shown in FIG. 15B, first, n pages of image data are printed on the nth sheet as shown in FIG. 15B, and then the first to (n-1) th sheets are sequentially printed. Data is being printed.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 15A, the reading order of the original is from the first page (first sheet) to the nth page (nth sheet), but the printing order is the nth sheet, the first sheet. The second,..., N−1th sheet.
As shown in FIG. 15A, since the last n-th document reading is finished lastly, printing cannot be started unless all the documents are read. There was a problem of low productivity.
In view of such a problem, the present invention provides an environment in which the position of the belt-like surplus portion can be set, and starts printing before reading of all the originals is completed according to the setting position of the belt-like surplus portion.
In the flow shown in FIG. 6, the reading of the original paper and the image formation on the output paper are all performed on one side, and the number of sheets and the number of pages are the same. The insertion position (Ci) of the belt-
In step S10, the insertion position (Ci) of the belt-
Steps S21 to S29 are flows relating to printing. In step S21, the variable i is initialized, and in S22, the increment is performed.
In step S23, the
In step S25, it is determined whether or not the page i of the read original is after the insertion position (Ci). If i> Ci is not satisfied (step S25: No), the process proceeds to step S26, and the image data for the i-th page is not printed and is suspended. On the other hand, if i> Ci (step S25: Yes), in step S27, printing is performed on a sheet based on the image data of the i-th page.
If reading by the
FIG. 8B shows an example in which the printing order is changed by the flow from step S21 to S29 in FIG. Since the insertion position (Ci) is the third sheet, printing starts from the image data of the page immediately after the insertion position (Ci), that is, the image data of the fourth page. Then, printing is performed up to the final nth page of image data. Thereafter, printing is performed from the first page to the third page of image data, which is image data immediately before the insertion position.

FIG. 9 shows a booklet bk created by the control flow of FIG. As shown in FIG. 9A, in the booklet bk immediately after creation, the belt-

[Second Embodiment]
FIG. 10 is a diagram for explaining a control flow performed jointly by the control unit A10 and the control unit B10 of the image forming system according to the second embodiment. In the example shown in the figure, a partition sheet is inserted. In the control flow shown in the figure, the control is the same as that in FIG. 6 except for steps S31 and S32.
The setting for inserting the partition sheet is performed on the setting screen shown in FIG. By selecting the button b4 in the figure, the insertion of the partition sheet can be validated (present). If “valid” is selected in b4, it is possible to further set the paper feed tray to be used in the b5 column. As the paper feed tray to be used, paper feed trays such as the
The same control as in FIG. 6 is performed from step S21 to step S28, and the partition paper is conveyed to the stack portion of the
The partition paper is preferably different in color and size so that it can be easily distinguished from other papers forming the booklet bk, but is not limited to this, and is the same size and type as the paper S forming the booklet bk. The paper may be used. Since it becomes unnecessary after the turning process as the partition paper, it is preferable to use a paper that can be removed thereafter. For example, a thin paper can be removed after use by being torn by the user, or a paper that is not punched is used to move the stack at the stack part of the
