Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method and a leakage magnetic flux flaw detection apparatus for inspecting a defect in a ferromagnetic material by detecting leakage magnetic flux by a plurality of magnetic sensors.
In general, when a magnetic field is applied from the outside to a ferromagnetic material having a minute shape change or a defect such as a foreign substance on the surface or surface layer, the magnetic flux leaks from the defective portion. Hereinafter, in this specification, the magnetic flux leaking from the defective part is referred to as leakage magnetic flux. Therefore, a leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method has been proposed in which a magnetic field is applied to a ferromagnetic object and whether or not there is a defect on the surface or surface layer of the ferromagnetic object based on the leakage magnetic flux has been proposed. Yes.
Compared with the magnetic particle flaw detection method in which the presence or absence of defects is inspected by spraying magnetic powder based on the same principle, this leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method is subtle in that detection results are obtained by electric signals, magnetic powder is sprayed, etc. It is suitable for automation because it has the advantages of requiring easy adjustment and no complicated work. For this reason, particularly in the steel industry, a leakage magnetic flux inspection method is used for a system that automatically detects defects such as non-metallic inclusions in an operation line.
As systems for automatically detecting defects using a leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method, there are those disclosed in Patent Literature 1 and
In general, many defects present in a metal strip are long in the traveling direction. On the other hand, in the leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method, the highest sensitivity can be obtained when the length direction of the defect and the direction of the magnetic field applied to the metal band are orthogonal. For this reason, from the viewpoint of detection principle, it is considered that the magnetization direction of the metal band is excellent in the width direction magnetization.
By the way, when the magnetization direction of the metal band is the traveling direction magnetization, as shown in FIG. 6, the
However, when the magnetization direction of the metal band is the width direction magnetization, when a plurality of
Specifically, the output signal of the
When the distance between the metal band and the DC magnetizer is kept constant and only the lift-off of the magnetic sensor becomes small as shown in FIG. 9A, the output of the
Further, when the lift-off fluctuates as shown in FIG. 10 (a), the lift-off signal is output to the output signals of the
On the other hand, in general, a noise signal is often generated in a vibrating manner as shown in FIG. 10A, and what is the relationship between the frequency of the noise signal and the frequency of the leakage magnetic flux signal from the defect? This is important when discussing defect detectability. Here, the relationship between the frequency of the noise signal and the frequency of the leakage magnetic flux signal from the defect will be described below.
It depends on the frequency of the noise signal and its source. For example, when the stray magnetic flux measured by the magnetic sensor varies due to mechanical vibration of the distance between at least two of the magnetic sensor, the DC magnetizer, and the metal band, the frequency of the mechanical vibration is This is the frequency of the noise signal. In general, this frequency is the natural frequency of the magnetic sensor, the magnetizer, and the mechanical structure that supports the metal strip. The amplitude of the vibration is determined by the traveling speed of the metal band and the operating state of the machine that generates the surrounding vibration, but the frequency is limited to a certain range. Further, when an electromagnet is used as a DC magnetizer, in principle, fluctuations in the magnetizing current are directly linked to fluctuations in the stray magnetic field. In this case, the fluctuation frequency of the magnetizing current is approximately the frequency of the noise signal.
On the other hand, the frequency of the leakage magnetic flux signal from the defect is mainly determined by the following two factors. The first factor is the spatial spread of the leakage magnetic flux caused by the defect at the position where the magnetic sensor is arranged, which is determined by the depth, size and shape of the defect and the position of the magnetic sensor. When the leakage magnetic flux has a spatial spread, the position of the leakage magnetic flux measured by the magnetic sensor changes as the relative positional relationship between the metal belt and the magnetic sensor changes as the metal belt travels. For this reason, the output of a magnetic sensor changes according to the spatial expansion of leakage magnetic flux. What happens to the output change of the magnetic sensor on the time axis (what happens as the frequency) needs to take into consideration the traveling speed of the metal band, which is the second factor.
The time frequency of the output change of the magnetic sensor is represented by the product of the spatial frequency indicating the spread of the leakage magnetic flux and the traveling speed of the metal band. Regarding the spatial frequency, if the property distribution of the defect to be detected is determined, it can be determined and limited to a certain range. In addition, the traveling speed of the metal band is limited to a range where the frequency is also constant. However, in the production line, the traveling speed of the metal strip is frequently accelerated and decelerated, and depending on circumstances, it may stop or become very slow before and after the stop. In this way, when the traveling speed of the metal band changes greatly, the frequency band of the leakage magnetic flux signal is also distributed over a wide range.
At this time, even if the traveling speed is constant or fluctuates, the time frequency band of the noise signal is separated from the time frequency band of the leakage magnetic flux signal from the defect, and the noise signal and the leakage magnetic flux are utilized using a filter or the like. When the signal can be separated by signal processing, the defect detection capability is not adversely affected. However, if the time frequency band of the noise signal and the time frequency band of the leakage magnetic flux signal from the defect are close or overlapped, and the noise signal and the leakage magnetic flux signal cannot be separated, the defect detection capability will be adversely affected. Become. This is a relatively large area compared to a DC magnetizer, the level of the leakage flux signal is large, and it is not a problem for large defects that are relatively easy to detect. Small defects that are difficult to detect at low levels are particularly problematic.
From the above, even if the time frequency of the noise signal and the time frequency of the leakage magnetic flux signal from the defect are close or overlapped, the noise signal and the leakage magnetic flux signal are separated, and the leakage magnetic flux signal is It is expected to provide a leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method that can be extracted with high accuracy.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a leakage magnetic flux flaw detection method and a leakage magnetic flux inspection device capable of extracting a leakage magnetic flux signal with high accuracy.

Hereinafter, with reference to the drawings, a configuration of a leakage magnetic flux flaw detector as an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[Configuration of Leakage Magnetic Flaw Detector]
First, with reference to FIG. 1, the structure of the leakage magnetic flux flaw detector which is one Embodiment of this invention is demonstrated.
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a configuration of a leakage magnetic flux flaw detector according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, a leakage magnetic flux flaw detector 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention detects a defect 3 present on the surface or surface of a
A leakage flux testing apparatus 1 shown in FIG. 1 includes
The DC magnetizers 10 a to 10 c are arranged in a nested manner in the width direction W of the
The
The extent of spreading of the magnetic flux from the defect 3 varies depending on the defect. For example, the size of the defect 3 on the
The plurality of sensors do not necessarily need to be arranged on a straight line or at equal intervals, and the arrangement of the plurality of sensors can be changed as appropriate without departing from the technical idea of the present invention. For example, when a plurality of sensors are arranged at a pitch of 1 mm as in the above example, it is difficult to arrange the sensors in a line from the size including the package of the sensor itself. It is good to arrange with.
The

In the process of step S1, the
In the process of step S2, the
In the process of step S3, the
Also, this pattern can often occur when the magnetic field generated by the DC magnetizer changes or when the lift-off changes in translation (no twisting or the like with respect to the surface of the steel plate 2). As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the direction pattern is an odd function centered on the center position W = W1 between the yokes of the DC magnetizer. Therefore, in the above-described case, when performing the fitting process, the fitting process can be performed with high accuracy by setting the fitting curve to an odd function. Thereby, the process of step S3 is completed, and the defect determination process proceeds to the process of step S4.
In the process of step S4, the
In the process of step S5, the
As is apparent from the above description, the defect determination process according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a magnetization step of applying a magnetic field in the direction along the surface of the
Although the embodiment to which the invention made by the present inventor is applied has been described above, the present invention is not limited by the description and the drawings that form a part of the disclosure of the present invention according to this embodiment. For example, the processes in steps S3 and S4 may be executed at every sampling timing of the output signal, or may not be executed at every sampling timing when the noise frequency is lower than the sampling frequency. In this case, the process of step S3 may be executed on the average value of the output signal acquired within a certain time range, or the average value of the output signal acquired within a certain time range may be obtained at a certain timing. You may make it calculate the difference with the obtained fitting curve. In addition, the leakage magnetic flux from the defect may spread in the width direction due to reasons such as a large defect, but in such a case, since the defect signal level is large, the presence / absence of the defect can be determined from the output signal waveform without performing the fitting process. You may make it judge. As described above, other embodiments, examples, operation techniques, and the like made by those skilled in the art based on the present embodiment are all included in the scope of the present invention.
