Abstract
Description
In the present invention, a unit type optical fiber ribbon formed by connecting two or more optical fiber ribbons in the longitudinal direction and the outer periphery of a cable core containing the unit type optical fiber ribbon are covered with a jacket. An optical fiber cable.
FTTH(Fiber To The Home)が急速に拡大している。
In recent years, with the widespread use of the Internet, FTTH (Fiber To The Home) that realizes a high-speed communication service by drawing an optical fiber directly into a general home is rapidly expanding. In general, a plurality of optical fiber ribbons (hereinafter referred to as tape ribbons) are bundled and accommodated in an optical fiber cable used for FTTH. By bundling and accommodating the tape core wires, it is possible to reduce the diameter and density of the optical fiber cable and to increase the efficiency of the intermediate work branching operation.
As an optical fiber cable containing a tape core, for example, a slot rod having a storage groove extending spirally at a constant twist pitch along the longitudinal direction is provided, and a tape core is inserted into the storage groove of the slot rod. A tape slot type optical fiber cable which is accommodated so as to be attached and whose outer peripheral surface is covered with a jacket is known. Also, as the tape core wire, a small number of cores (for example, two cores) optical fiber strands (below the minimum required protective coating around the optical fiber, hereinafter referred to as an optical fiber) are arranged in parallel and collectively covered. A unit-type tape core wire is known in which a plurality of tape core wires are arranged in parallel and further collectively covered (for example, Patent Document 1).
By the way, in the case of the above-described tape slot type optical fiber cable, when the cable is bent, bending stress is also applied to the accommodated tape core wire (see FIG. 11). At this time, in any of the tape cores, there is a portion that is always in a vertically bent state within the twist pitch of the storage groove (= twist pitch of the tape cores).
Since the conventional tape core wire has a structure in which a plurality of optical fibers are collectively covered in the longitudinal direction and is difficult to change in shape, as shown in FIG. 11, when the optical fiber cable is bent at a bending radius Rc, It can be considered that the portion of the line in the vertical bending state is equivalently bent with a bending radius Rt (≈Rc). That is, the stress when the optical fiber cable is bent is directly applied to the portion of the tape core wire that is in the vertical bending state, and a large distortion is generated.
Here, the longitudinal bending state refers to a state where bending stress is applied in the tape width direction as shown in FIG. That is, when the optical fiber cable is bent, the portion of the tape core wire (the broken line portion in FIG. 11A) that is located on the side surface of the cable is in a vertically bent state. When viewed in units of tape cores, there are two portions within one pitch that are in a vertically bent state when the optical fiber cable is bent, but the optical fiber units (for example, 4 in FIG. In the case of the center line N4), one longitudinal bending state is subjected to compressive strain, while the other longitudinal bending state is subjected to tensile strain. Therefore, the two longitudinal bending states are distinguished, and when the optical fiber cable is bent, the tape core wire is treated as being in a longitudinal bending state at only one place within one pitch.
In such a longitudinal bending state, as shown in FIG. 11B, the optical fiber N1 located on the outermost side is subjected to tensile strain and the optical fiber N4 located on the innermost side is subjected to compressive strain with respect to the bending stress. . Further, the increase in loss tends to increase in the optical fiber N4 on the side subjected to compressive strain. At present, in order to reduce the compressive strain when the optical fiber cable is bent, the width of the tape core is reduced (for example, the number of cores is reduced), or the tape core is inclined in the receiving groove. Measures are taken.
However, the method of reducing the number of the cores of the tape core to be accommodated is not preferable because it goes against the increase in the density of the optical fiber cable. Further, since the diameter of the optical fiber cable is required and the size of the accommodation groove tends to be reduced, there is little room for the tape core wire to be inclined in the accommodation groove. As described above, in the conventional optical fiber cable, the distortion applied to the tape core wire when the cable is bent cannot be effectively reduced, so that the handleability is improved (the drum size is reduced) and the loss increase is eased. Has become difficult.
An object of the present invention is to provide a technology capable of improving handling and reducing loss increase without impeding the reduction in diameter and density in an optical fiber cable containing an optical fiber ribbon. And
The invention described in claim 1 was made to achieve the above object. An optical fiber ribbon comprising two or more optical fibers arranged in parallel and collectively covered in the longitudinal direction. Unit-type optical fiber ribbons, which are arranged in parallel, and are intermittently connected by connecting portions of length L provided at intervals S in the longitudinal direction between adjacent optical fiber ribbons. It is.
The invention according to claim 2 is a light comprising the unit type optical fiber ribbon according to claim 1 accommodated by adding a twist at a constant twist pitch in the longitudinal direction and covering the outer peripheral surface with a jacket. A fiber cable,
The length of the connecting portion and the connecting pitch, the layer core diameter of the unit type optical fiber ribbon, and the twist pitch are bent in an arbitrary section corresponding to 10 pitches in the unit type optical fiber ribbon. It is characterized in that it is designed so that the position where the connecting portion overlaps with the position where the vertical bending state is added is 9 or less.
According to the present invention, the distortion generated in the unit-type tape core wire is reduced at the position where the optical fiber cable is bent in the vertical bending state, so that the reduction in the diameter and density of the optical fiber cable is not hindered. It is possible to improve the handleability and mitigate the increase in loss.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a connection mode of unit type tape core wires (four cores) 11 accommodated in the optical fiber cable 1.
As shown in FIG. 2, the unit-type
Here, the length L and the connecting pitch P2 (= L + S) of the connecting
That is, the portion of the unit-type
In a conventional tape core wire in which four optical fibers are collectively covered, the portions that are in a vertically bent state are always connected in units of four cores (see FIG. 11). On the other hand, in the unit-type

As shown in FIG. 4, in Example 3, the number of synchronizations in an interval of 10 pitches from an arbitrary portion of the cable is 0 to 6, and the number of synchronizations is periodic in the longitudinal direction of the cable as in Example 2.

In the above-described embodiment, a four-core unit-type tape core wire in which two-core tape core wires are intermittently connected in the longitudinal direction has been described. However, the configuration of the unit-type tape core wire is not limited to this.
For example, as shown in FIG. 7, the present invention is applied to an 8-unit unit tape core wire that is configured by arranging two 4-fiber ribbons in parallel and intermittently connecting them in the longitudinal direction. Can do. Also, as shown in FIG. 8, the present invention is applied to an 8-unit unit type tape core wire that is formed by arranging four 2-core tape core wires in parallel and intermittently connecting them in the longitudinal direction. Can do. In this case, the connecting portions may be arranged at the same position in the tape width direction as shown in FIG. 8, or the connecting portions are changed in stages in the tape width direction as shown in FIGS. May be arranged. 9 and 10, the lengths L1, L2, and L3 and the connecting pitches P21, P22, and P23 may be the same or different for a plurality of connecting portions having different positions in the tape width direction. Also good.
According to the 8-core unit type core fiber shown in FIGS. 7 to 10, the increase in loss can be mitigated as compared with a tape core wire in which 8 optical fibers are collectively covered.
Further, the present invention is not limited to the slot type optical fiber cable shown in the embodiment, but can also be applied to a slotless type optical fiber cable.
The embodiment disclosed this time should be considered as illustrative in all points and not restrictive.
