光学系で生じる収差を補正する画像処理装置であって、
画像中の注目画素の色情報を取得する取得手段と、
前記注目画素が、所定の輝度値より高く所定の幅よりも細い白色細線を構成する白色細線画素であるか否かを判断する判断手段と、
前記判断手段において白色細線画素であると判断された場合に、前記注目画素に対して平滑化処理を行う平滑化手段と、
前記画像を表示するための表示光学系において生じる結像位置のずれ量を示す情報に基づいて、前記注目画素の位置を変換する変換手段と、
前記変換手段により位置が変換された前記注目画素の色情報に基づいて、前記注目画素の近傍に画素の補間処理を行う補間手段とを備える。
