Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a light source device, and more particularly to a metal halide lamp suitable as a mercury lamp alternative light source.
Conventionally, mercury lamps are mainly used for outdoor lighting such as roads, plazas, and stadiums, and indoor lighting with high ceilings such as gymnasiums and factories. However, mercury lamps are relatively inefficient. As a background, it is recommended to replace the mercury lamp with a highly efficient metal halide lamp.
However, since the existing lighting facilities are equipped with ballasts for mercury lamps, in order to obtain the same brightness as mercury lamps by attaching metal halide lamps to the lamps for mercury lamps, the ballasts must be installed. It is necessary to replace the ballast with a metal halide lamp, which is one of the obstacles to the replacement with the metal halide lamp.
Therefore, in a state where the ballast for the mercury lamp is left as it is, a so-called circuit built-in type in which the lighting circuit unit including the ballast is housed in the lamp housing as a metal halide lamp capable of obtaining the same brightness as the mercury lamp. There is an increasing demand for metal halide lamps (
FIG. 16 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a schematic configuration of a conventional circuit-embedded metal halide lamp. For example, a conventional circuit-embedded
However, in the case of a high watt type
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a light source device in which a lighting circuit unit is not easily destroyed by heat.

In addition, another aspect of the light source device according to the present invention includes a light emitting tube having a pair of electrodes whose ends are opposed to each other and in which a metal halide is enclosed as a light emitting material, and an inner tube that hermetically seals the light emitting tube A double-tube structure comprising: a lighting circuit unit for lighting the arc tube; and the double-tube structure and the lighting circuit unit disposed between the lighting circuit unit and the lighting tube for generating heat from the arc tube A heat shield plate that prevents transmission to the circuit unit, and the sealing portion of the inner tube is disposed between the arc tube and the heat shield plate, and the lighting circuit unit of the heat shield plate When the shortest distance [mm] from the main surface on the side to the double-pipe structure is L and the rated power [W] is P, L ≧ 0.004P + 0.6 and 30 ≦ P ≦ 250 It is characterized by satisfying.
Still another aspect of the light source device according to the present invention includes a semiconductor light emitting module, a lighting circuit unit for lighting the semiconductor light emitting module, a base electrically connected to the lighting circuit unit, and the semiconductor A heat shielding plate disposed between the light emitting module and the lighting circuit unit and preventing heat generated from the semiconductor light emitting module from being transmitted to the lighting circuit unit, the lighting circuit unit side of the heat shielding plate When the shortest distance [mm] from the main surface to the semiconductor light emitting module is L and the rated power [W] is P, the relationship of L ≧ 0.004P + 0.6 and 30 ≦ P ≦ 250 is satisfied. It is characterized by.
In the light source device according to the present invention, since the heat shielding plate is disposed between the light source such as the double tube structure or the semiconductor light emitting module and the lighting circuit unit, the lighting circuit unit is radiated by heat or radiation of the light source. It is difficult to get to. Furthermore, when the shortest distance [mm] from the main surface on the lighting circuit unit side of the heat shield plate to the light source is L and the rated power [W] is P, the shortest distance L and the rated power P have a predetermined relationship. In order to satisfy, the heat of the light source is hardly transmitted to the lighting circuit unit by conduction. Therefore, the lighting circuit unit is not easily destroyed by heat.
Hereinafter, the light source device according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.
<Configuration of light source device>
FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a schematic configuration of the light source device according to the first embodiment. As shown in FIG. 1, the
The

The
One
The
The

The

The
The conducting
The
An annular
The
The

FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram of a lighting circuit in the lighting circuit unit. As shown in FIG. 2, the lighting circuit in the
The AC / DC converter has a role of converting AC power from a commercial AC power source into DC power of a predetermined voltage, and includes a rectifier circuit DB and a booster circuit that boosts the DC voltage output from the rectifier circuit DB. . The booster circuit is a chopper booster circuit, and includes an inductance L1, a switching element Q1, a diode D1, and a capacitor C1. In this example, a choke coil is used for the inductance L1, a transistor is used for the switching element Q1, and an electrolytic capacitor is used for the capacitor C1.
The DC adjustment unit has a role of adjusting the DC voltage output from the AC / DC conversion unit to a predetermined voltage, and includes a chopper type step-down circuit. The step-down circuit includes a switching element Q2, a diode D2, an inductance L2, and a capacitor C2. In this example, a transistor is used for the switching element Q2, a choke coil is used for the inductance L2, and an electrolytic capacitor is used for the capacitor C2.
The DC / AC conversion unit has a role of converting the DC voltage output from the DC adjustment unit into AC power and supplying power to the
Since the
The
The
In general, a metal halide lamp has better luminous efficiency [lm / W] than a mercury lamp, and therefore, when used as a substitute for a mercury lamp, the same brightness can be obtained with a lower power than a mercury lamp. For example, a metal halide lamp with a rated power of 10 [W] can obtain a brightness equivalent to that of a mercury lamp of 40 [W], and can be a substitute for a mercury lamp of 40 [W]. Similarly, a 30 [W] metal halide lamp is equivalent to an 80 [W] mercury lamp, a 70 [W] metal halide lamp is equivalent to a 100 [W] mercury lamp, and a 100 [W] metal halide lamp is 200 [W]. Equivalent to mercury lamp, 150 [W] metal halide lamp is equivalent to 250 [W] mercury lamp, 200 [W] metal halide lamp is equivalent to 300 [W] mercury lamp, 250 [W] metal halide lamp is 400 [W] The brightness equivalent to that of mercury lamps can be obtained, and it can be a substitute for each mercury lamp. Note that depending on the application and environment to be used, lamp characteristics to be noticed as alternative conditions such as total luminous flux and illuminance may differ, and the alternative watt range may be changed as appropriate.
<Heat-resistant destruction performance of lighting circuit unit>
Since the above-described

FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 are diagrams showing experimental results on the influence of the shortest distance L and the rated power P on the thermal destruction of the lighting circuit unit. In the experiment, various light source devices of Examples 1 to 14 and Comparative Examples 1 to 28 in which the shortest distance L and the rated power P were changed based on the
Specifically, aging was performed on each light source device as the time until the lighting circuit unit was thermally destroyed, and the total lighting time (circuit life time) until the lighting circuit unit was thermally destroyed was measured. . When the circuit life time is 24000 [h] or more, it is evaluated as a “good ○” light source device that ensures life reliability in consideration of variation with respect to a desired rated life, and when it is less than 24000 [h] Was evaluated as a “defect ×” light source device that could not ensure life reliability in consideration of variation with respect to a desired rated life.
In addition, when the light source device became unsatisfactory and no failure was found in any place other than the lighting circuit unit, it was considered that the lighting circuit unit was shortened and destroyed. In addition, the aging is performed by using a lighting cycle in which the
The reason for evaluating “good” and “bad” with a circuit life time of 24000 [h] as a boundary is that the light source device needs to realize a life equivalent to or longer than that of the mercury lamp because it is positioned as an alternative to the mercury lamp. Since the life of mercury lamps is 12000 [h], it is necessary to secure a life of at least 12000 [h], preferably 15000 [h] as an alternative to it. This is because considering the use environment of the light source device, it is preferable that the design life is twice as long as that, that is, 30000 [h].
3 and 4, the protruding length means a length by which the
As is clear from FIGS. 3 and 4, all of the light source devices of Examples 1 to 14 satisfying the relationship of L ≧ 0.005P + 0.7 and 10 ≦ P ≦ 250 have a circuit lifetime of 24000 [h]. That's it and it exceeds the target value. On the other hand, the light source devices of Comparative Examples 1 to 28 that did not satisfy the relationship were less than 24000 [h] and did not exceed the target value.
Further, in any of the light source devices of Examples 1 to 14, at least a part of the atmospheric temperature of the

FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing a state in which one heat shield member is provided in the gap between the double-pipe structure and the case. FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing a state in which two heat shield members are provided in the gap between the double-pipe structure and the case.
As shown in FIG. 5, the
The
The

Since the

FIG. 9 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a schematic configuration of the light source device according to the third embodiment. As shown in FIG. 9, the

Note that the
FIG. 10 and FIG. 11 are diagrams showing experimental results on the influence of the shortest distance L and the rated power P on the thermal destruction of the lighting circuit unit. Based on the
As is clear from FIGS. 10 and 11, all of the light source devices of Examples 29 to 40 satisfying the relationship of L ≧ 0.004P + 0.6 and 30 ≦ P ≦ 250 have a circuit lifetime of 24000 [h]. Although it was above and exceeded the target value, the light source devices of Comparative Examples 29 to 52 that did not satisfy the relationship were less than 24000 [h] and did not exceed the target value.
From the above results, when the sealing
The sealing
Therefore, since the heat due to the radiation transmitted from the double-
Further, if the power P is 30 [W] or more, the contribution of heat conducted directly from the sealing
By the way, as in the
In order to avoid such a danger, it is preferable that the
FIG. 12 is a diagram showing experimental results on the influence of the posture of the double-pipe structure on the failure of the outer tube. In the experiment, Example 41 in which the mercury enclosure amount, the outer tube thickness, and the rated power P were changed based on the
Specifically, after each light source device is stably lit for 15 minutes, the lighting circuit is short-circuited to cause a large current to flow through the
As for the amount of mercury enclosed, an experiment was conducted with respect to the case where the upper limit value of the mercury production standard at each rated power P was enclosed and the case where the upper limit value was enclosed. As for the outer tube thickness, since the outer tube thickness standard is 0.5 to 1.5 [mm], the average value of 1.0 [mm] is the most disadvantageous for impact resistance. An experiment was conducted for the case of 0.5 [mm].
As is clear from FIG. 12, when the sealing
Similarly, when the sealing

FIG. 13 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a schematic configuration of a light source device according to the fourth embodiment. The

As described above, it is not always necessary to provide a gap between the double-tube structure and the heat shielding plate, and the double-

[Fifth Embodiment]
FIG. 14 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a schematic configuration of the light source device according to the fifth embodiment. As shown in FIG. 14, the

[Modification]
As mentioned above, although the light source device which concerns on this invention has been concretely demonstrated based on embodiment, the content of this invention is not limited to said embodiment.
The light source device according to the present invention can also be applied to a lighting fixture including a ballast such as a copper-iron type. Thus, from the viewpoint of protecting the built-in lighting circuit unit when the existing lighting apparatus for mercury lamps to be replaced with the light source device according to the present invention includes a ballast, the input unit of the lighting circuit It is preferable to add a pulse protection circuit to. This is because, for example, when an input current to the circuit is suddenly cut off due to the light source device being turned off, a high voltage pulse may be generated from a ballast including an inductance component. This is because the circuit element may be damaged by the pulse voltage, but if the pulse protection circuit is provided as described above, the circuit element can be prevented from being damaged by the pulse voltage. In addition, even if the light source device goes out, etc., the pulse voltage from the ballast is lowered by providing a protection circuit to gently reduce the input current to the circuit without being cut off suddenly. It can also be made.
In the light source device according to the present invention, an AC filter and / or an active filter circuit may be attached to the input portion of the circuit. In general, since a ballast used for a mercury lamp is an inductor, when the input current to the lighting circuit according to the present invention includes a lot of harmonic components, the original input current waveform may be distorted. On the other hand, by adding these circuits, the harmonic components of the input current to the circuit can be reduced, so that the current waveform can be stabilized properly without distorting the current waveform by the ballast. Thus, problems such as flickering can be avoided.
By the way, the existing mercury lamp illuminating equipment to be replaced with the light source device according to the present invention is often used for a long period of several decades, and there is a concern about coil deterioration.
In that respect, the light source device according to the present invention can obtain about twice the efficiency of a mercury lamp when a ceramic arc tube is used. Therefore, if an equivalent luminous flux (light quantity) is obtained for an existing mercury lamp, the power / current can be reduced to about half. For this reason, even if an existing ballast has been used for a long period of time, after replacing the light source device according to the present invention, the current load of the ballast can be reduced. Etc. can be suppressed. Furthermore, when a mercury lamp is used, the arc tube of the mercury lamp may explode if the ballast is short-circuited due to deterioration of the coil. Is limited, so there is no danger of an arc tube exploding. Therefore, when the light source device according to the present invention is applied to an existing lighting device for mercury lamp, it is preferable to select a light source device having a lower power than the existing mercury lamp. When a low power source is selected in this way, the light source device has a lower current than the mercury lamp to be replaced, so even if the existing ballast is used for a long time, the current load on the circuit is low. Even when deterioration occurs, it is possible to suppress problems such as smoke.
The light source device according to the present invention can be suitably used as a mercury lamp substitute that is used by being mounted on an existing mercury lamp lighting fixture as it is.
