Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a laser light source device mounted on an image forming apparatus such as a laser beam printer or a digital copying machine using an electrophotographic process, a scanning optical device, and a method for assembling the laser light source device.
Conventionally, as a laser light source device used in an image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic process, there is a laser light source device described in Patent Document 1. The outline of the configuration of the conventional laser light source device will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 7 shows an outline of a scanning optical device equipped with a laser light source device. The scanning
FIG. 8 schematically shows a laser light source device mounted on the scanning optical device. FIG. 8A is a perspective view of the laser light source device, and FIG. 8B is a view of the laser light source device viewed from the back side opposite to the front side where the laser light of the semiconductor laser is emitted. FIG.8 (c) is explanatory drawing of the adhesion part of a laser support member. Since the laser
In the above configuration, the
Conventionally, there is a scanning optical device described in Patent Document 2 as a scanning optical device in which four semiconductor lasers are arranged close to each other and are mounted on an inline color image forming apparatus. In recent years, there has been a demand for cost reduction and size reduction of image forming apparatuses. For this reason, in the scanning optical device, the optical box for storing the optical components is small, and the optical components are densely arranged inside. The optical system of the scanning optical device is a laser that is arranged substantially symmetrically and oppositely scanned with respect to the rotation axis center of a rotary polygon mirror that deflects and scans the laser light emitted from a plurality of light source units by making incident light on different surfaces. It is composed of two scanning optical systems that condense light onto a plurality of different scanning surfaces. When a plurality of semiconductor lasers are close to each other, a plurality of sets of a semiconductor laser and a collimator lens that adjusts the laser light emitted from the semiconductor laser so as to be substantially parallel light are integrated into one component. keeping.
However, in Patent Document 1, when the positions of four adjacent semiconductor lasers are adjusted, adjustment mechanisms corresponding to the individual laser support members are required. Accordingly, a space for inserting a driving jig for electrically connecting the light sources and a jig for adjusting the light sources in at least three axial directions is limited. In this situation, it is indispensable to prevent the jig and the part from coming into contact with each other and to secure a light irradiation opening for bonding and fixing using a photo-curing adhesive. In addition, since the gripping part for clamping the laser support member with a jig and the adhesive part for fixing the laser support member are very close to each other, the degree of freedom of the jig and the assembly process is impaired. For this reason, the jig configuration at the time of assembling becomes extremely complicated and the workability is deteriorated, so that the productivity is lowered.
By the way, for example, in order to physically widen the interval between the semiconductor laser arrays, the distance from the semiconductor laser to the rotary polygon mirror is extended to widen the interval, or the laser is perpendicular to the rotation center of the rotary polygon mirror. It is conceivable to increase the incident angle. However, in this case, there is a problem that the installation area and thickness of the entire scanning optical apparatus increase, and the entire apparatus increases in size. In addition, in an oblique incidence optical system in which laser light is incident at an angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to the rotation center of the rotary polygon mirror, the larger the incident angle, the worse the following optical characteristics are. It wasn't. When an angle difference (surface tilt) occurs between each deflection surface with respect to the rotation center of the rotary polygon mirror, the transmission position in the sub-scanning direction of the scanning lens differs, so that the imaging position on the scanning surface Shifts and so-called pitch unevenness occurs. On the other hand, when a difference between the deflection surface distances (eccentricity) occurs from the rotation center of the rotary polygon mirror, the reflection position fluctuates for each reflection surface, and so-called pitch unevenness occurs as described above. Accordingly, in these optical characteristics, the performance is deteriorated by widening the incident angle, and if the incident angle is narrowed, it is advantageous in terms of performance. For this reason, it is desirable to narrow the laser incident angle θ shown in FIG. 9 as much as possible. In the conventional example shown in FIG. 9, the
05b is interposed. For this reason, the distance between the
Further, in order to satisfy the various optical characteristics of each semiconductor laser, it is necessary to adjust the position while emitting the semiconductor laser in the step of adjusting the position of each laser support member. The light emission control of the semiconductor laser is performed by directly contacting the light emission control circuit provided on the jig to the lead pin of the semiconductor laser and electrically connecting the semiconductor laser and the light emission control circuit of the jig. Then, after adjusting the position and fixing the laser support member to the lens support member, a regular laser drive circuit is electrically connected to the semiconductor laser. At this time, it is necessary to simultaneously insert all the connection holes of the integrated laser driving circuit board for connecting a plurality of semiconductor lasers with respect to the plurality of lead pins having different position accuracy and posture by position adjustment. However, the defect that the lead pin that has not been smoothly inserted into the connection hole is bent frequently occurs.
Furthermore, since the process of attaching the laser drive circuit board is a process after position adjustment, an external force is directly applied to the semiconductor laser after position adjustment when the board is attached or by solder connection. Further, in the measurement of the final inspection process, it is neglected that an external force is indirectly applied to the semiconductor laser after position adjustment by bringing a number of probes for electrical connection into contact with the laser drive circuit board and the laser support member. I can't. As described above, since the load stress is applied directly or indirectly to the semiconductor laser after the position adjustment, the irradiation position of the laser optical axis sometimes fluctuates.
An object of the present invention is to realize stable assembly in which the position adjustment of a semiconductor laser during assembly is easy.
In order to solve the above problems, a laser light source device according to the present invention includes a semiconductor laser, a flexible circuit board that electrically connects a lead pin of the semiconductor laser and a laser control unit that controls the semiconductor laser, and the semiconductor A laser light source device having a laser and a holding member that holds a lens through which laser light emitted from the semiconductor laser is transmitted, the laser light source device having a reinforcing member that supports the semiconductor laser, and the semiconductor laser and the reinforcing member At least one of them is fixed to the holding member.

Next, a method for adjusting and fixing the
Next, a jig used for triaxial adjustment will be described. A clamp tool, which is a jig that supports (holds) the reinforcing
Then, the laser beam La is emitted from the
Next, the triaxial adjustment method will be described. The reinforcing

Since the distance between the plurality of semiconductor lasers can be short and close, the oblique incident angle can be narrowed. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the deterioration of the optical performance such as surface tilt and pitch unevenness, and at the same time to reduce the size of the entire apparatus. As described above, the position adjustment of the
Even if only one semiconductor laser is mounted on the scanning optical apparatus, this adjustment and fixing method is possible. However, it is more effective that a plurality of semiconductor lasers are mounted on the scanning optical device. In addition, a plurality of laser drive circuit boards may be integrated as long as a space for adjusting the semiconductor laser can be secured. Note that the imaging lens for the semiconductor laser to be adjusted may not be an anamorphic lens but a collimator lens that collimates the laser light. As a holding member for holding the semiconductor laser, not only the optical box but also a holder for holding these integrally as long as the semiconductor laser to be similarly held is adjusted with respect to the held anamorphic lens or collimator lens. It may be a member. Further, the entire laser connection portion may not be a flexible circuit board, and may be provided between the laser control portion and the semiconductor laser in a range including a part of the laser connection portion, at least the connection portion of the semiconductor laser.
<実施例2>

FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram illustrating an adjustment portion of the semiconductor laser according to the second embodiment. In this embodiment, the adjustment of the four semiconductor lasers is the same, and therefore, description will be made using the
