Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a radiation shield, a radiation measurement apparatus, and a radiation detector shielding method.
Conventionally, for example, when shielding a radiation detector from background radiation, internal shielding with a copper, tin, silver or cadmium plate is performed between a lead shielding material made of lead and the radiation detector, muon, γ-ray, etc. A shielding method is known that reduces the background count of a radiation detector in a low energy region (for example, a region of 500 keV or less) in which the contribution of lead Kα X-rays or the like excited by is large (for example, non-patent document) 1).
By the way, in the shielding method according to the above prior art, in order to reduce the background count of the radiation detector, the concentration of 210 Pb, which is a radioisotope, is less than the desired allowable concentration as the lead constituting the lead shielding material. It is desirable to use lead. However, lead with a low content of 210 Pb is difficult to obtain, and lead is stored for a long period of time with respect to the half-life of 210 Pb (about 22 years) to reduce the content of 210 Pb. In this case, there arises a problem that the labor and cost required for storage increase.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and is capable of suppressing an increase in cost when appropriately reducing the background count of the radiation detector, and shielding the radiation shield, the radiation measuring apparatus, and the radiation detector. It aims to provide a method.
In order to solve the above problems and achieve the object, the radiation shield according to the first aspect of the present invention is a radiation shield that shields a shielding object (for example, the
In addition, the radiation measuring apparatus according to the second aspect of the present invention includes a radiation detector (for example, the
In addition, the radiation detector shielding method according to the third aspect of the present invention includes a lead shield (for example, implementation) made of lead that shields the radiation detector (for example, the
According to the radiation shield according to the first aspect of the present invention, the shield containing at least any one of copper, tin, silver, and cadmium is used as an internal shield for the lead shield, thereby enabling muon. In a low energy region (for example, a region of 500 keV or less) in which the contribution of lead Kα X-rays excited by γ rays or the like is large, background radiation for a shielding object such as a radiation detector can be reduced. .
Furthermore, by providing a tungsten shield between the lead shield and the shielding object, it is possible to suppress an increase in cost when reducing background radiation on the shielding object such as a radiation detector. In other words, tungsten obtained from nature has few radioisotopes, and it is easy to obtain tungsten useful for shielding radiation. Tungsten has a high atomic number and high density, so it has a high shielding effect against radiation and lead shielding. By using a tungsten shield as the internal shield of the body, the amount of lead required for the lead shield can be reduced, and the cost required for the configuration of the radiation shield can be reduced.
Moreover, according to the radiation measuring apparatus which concerns on the 2nd aspect of this invention, the expense at the time of reducing the background count with respect to a radiation detector by providing a tungsten shield between a lead shield and a radiation detector. The increase can be suppressed. In other words, tungsten obtained from nature has few radioisotopes, and it is easy to obtain tungsten useful for shielding radiation. Tungsten has a high atomic number and high density, so it has a high shielding effect against radiation and lead shielding. By using a tungsten shield as an internal shield of the body, the amount of lead required for the lead shield can be reduced, and the cost required for the configuration of the shield can be reduced. Thereby, the measurement of a low level radioactivity can be performed accurately, suppressing the increase in expense.
Further, according to the radiation detector shielding method according to the third aspect of the present invention, when the tungsten shield is provided between the lead shield and the radiation detector, the background count for the radiation detector is reduced. The increase in cost can be suppressed. In other words, tungsten obtained from nature has few radioisotopes, and it is easy to obtain tungsten useful for shielding radiation. Tungsten has a high atomic number and high density, so it has a high shielding effect against radiation and lead shielding. By using a tungsten shield as the internal shield of the body, the amount of lead required for the lead shield can be reduced, and the cost required for shielding the radiation detector can be reduced.
Hereinafter, a radiation shield, a radiation measurement apparatus, and a radiation detector shielding method according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
A radiation measurement apparatus 1 including a
The
The
The
The
The inside of the
The
The
The
The
The
Further, the
The
The
The
The
Further, the

Thus, when the
Thereby, the lead shield (namely, lead shielding housing | casing (SH (Pb)) 41a, lead shielding cover body (SH (Pb)) 41b) and the
In addition, each shielding body (for example, copper shielding housing (SH (Cu)) 42a, 52a and copper shielding lid (SH (Cu)) 42b, 52b) made of copper is made of copper, tin, silver, and cadmium. It may be a shield containing at least one of them.
As described above, according to the shielding method of the

In the above-described embodiment, the first modification, and the second modification, the resin shielding housing (SH (R)) 43a and the resin shielding lid (SH (R)) 43b may be omitted.
