Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a power management apparatus and an image forming apparatus that shuts down by shutting off a relay.
As a system having a shutdown function, a system that shuts off a relay by turning off a power switch and notifying the completion of shutdown processing from a CPU is known.
As a related technique, there is a function of detecting welding when a relay used for a shutdown function is broken. In the case of the shutdown function, the relay may be damaged and the relay may be turned off when the power is turned on. When the relay is always turned off, even if the shutdown function does not operate, the system can perform start / shutdown processing.
Further, in the technique described in Patent Document 1, the second power switching is performed when the second power switching means is not turned off after a predetermined time has elapsed after the power is turned off by the first power switching. It is determined that the means has failed.
However, in Patent Document 1, failure detection is performed with a trigger that the second power supply switching unit does not turn off after a lapse of a certain time after the first power supply switching unit is turned off. Even if the switch is disconnected, the relay function cannot be accurately determined because the shutdown function may not work and the operation may continue.
SUMMARY An advantage of some aspects of the invention is that it provides a power management device and an image forming apparatus that detect the state of a relay.
In order to solve the above problems, a power management device according to the present invention includes a switch that switches between conduction and non-conduction of power, and a relay that is provided downstream of the switch and switches on / off of power supply to the power supply by flowing electricity. And a relay drive control means for supplying electricity to the relay, and a relay cut-off state detecting means provided downstream of the relay and receiving power supply when the switch is in a conductive state and the relay is in an OFF state. And
It has a controller which detects the conduction state of a switch and sends out the timing which sends electricity to a relay drive control means.
The relay cut-off state detecting means is an element that can be directly driven by electric power supplied by electric power.
The relay cut-off state detecting means detects that the switch is in a conductive state and the relay is in an OFF state when the timing is sent out by the controller, and notifies the controller.
The relay cut-off state detection means detects and notifies that the switch is in a conductive state and the relay is in an OFF state after waiting for a predetermined time.
When the timing is sent by the controller, the relay cut-off state detection means detects that the switch is in a conductive state and the relay is in an OFF state. If the switch is in a conductive state and the relay is in an OFF state, the relay is disconnected multiple times. ON / OFF control and state detection are performed.
The controller includes a communication blocking unit that blocks communication with the connected storage device when notified of the status.
In addition, an image forming apparatus according to the present invention includes any one of the power management devices described above.
According to the present invention, the state of the relay can be easily detected, and the device can be protected more reliably.
Next, an embodiment of the image forming apparatus will be described as a configuration example of the power management system for the best mode for carrying out the invention.
FIG. 1 is a circuit block diagram of a power management system according to an embodiment of the present invention. The power management system includes a power source 1, an AC SW 2, a
The AC SW2 is, for example, a physically switchable switch, and can be energized to supply power when turned on.
The
The controller 4 has an ASIC 9 and controls the entire image forming apparatus. Further, when the ON / OFF of the AC SW2 is detected and the AC SW2 is turned ON, a timing for turning on the relay 3 (flowing current) is sent to the
The
The relay cutoff detection means 6 is connected to the OFF side downstream of the
That is, when power is supplied to the relay cutoff detection means 6, the AC SW2 is ON and the
FIG. 2 is a flowchart of the power management system in the embodiment of the present invention. When AC SW2 is turned on (step S11), the controller 4 detects that AC SW2 is turned on (step S12).
The
The relay cutoff state detection means 6 determines whether or not the
As described above, when the relay 3 (relay drive circuit 5) provided in the power supply 1 is abnormal and cannot be switched from the cut-off state, the
In addition, the relay interruption | blocking detection means 6 may detect abnormality of the
That is, when the
FIG. 3 is a flowchart of a power management system according to another embodiment of the present invention. When the AC SW2 is turned on (step S21), the controller 4 detects that the AC SW2 is turned on (step S22).
The
The relay cutoff state detection means 6 determines whether or not the
The controller 4 receives the relay cutoff state detection signal from the relay cutoff state detection means 6 and recognizes the OFF state of the relay 3 (step S26).
In this embodiment, when the relay cutoff state detection means 6 detects the relay cutoff state detection signal, it outputs a relay cutoff state detection signal to the controller 4 that controls the image forming apparatus. Recognize that you are doing.
FIG. 4 is a flowchart of a power management system according to another embodiment of the present invention. When AC SW2 is turned on (step S31), the controller 4 detects that AC SW2 is turned on (step S32).
The
The relay cutoff state detection means 6 determines whether or not the
The controller 4 receives the relay cutoff state detection signal from the relay cutoff state detector 6 and recognizes the OFF state of the relay 3 (step S37).
The relay cut-off state detection means 6 determines that the relay is cut off when the AC SW 2 is in the ON state and the
Therefore, to prevent false detection, the controller 4 sets the time from when the AC SW2 is turned on until the controller 4 detects the disconnection state of the
In addition, the output of a relay drive signal for turning on the

When AC SW2 is turned on (step S41), the controller 4 detects that AC SW2 is turned on (step S42).
The
The relay cutoff state detection means 6 determines whether or not the
The controller 4 receives the relay cutoff state detection signal from the relay cutoff state detector 6 and recognizes the OFF state of the relay 3 (step S46). It is determined whether or not the number of times of recognition is the second time (step S47), and if it is the first recognition, the processing from step S43 is repeated.
In this embodiment, when the interruption state is detected by the relay interruption state detection means 6 and a relay interruption detection signal is input to the controller 4 that controls the image forming apparatus to recognize the interruption state, the
Thus, it is possible to improve the relay failure detection accuracy by re-recognizing the relay drive instruction and state.
FIG. 6 is a flowchart of a power management system according to another embodiment of the present invention. When AC SW2 is turned on (step S51), the controller 4 detects that AC SW2 is turned on (step S52).

The controller 4 receives the relay cutoff state detection signal from the relay cutoff state detector 6 and recognizes the OFF state of the relay 3 (step S56). After the recognition, the abnormal state is notified to the transmission means 8 (step S57).
In the present embodiment, when the controller 4 determines that the
Further, the transmission unit 8 may perform audio output to notify the abnormal state from the controller 4 or transmit the abnormal state to other devices via a network connected to the controller 4.

When the AC SW2 is turned on (step S61), the controller 4 detects that the AC SW2 is turned on (step S62).

The relay cut-off state detecting means 6 determines whether or not the
The controller 4 receives the relay cutoff state detection signal from the relay cutoff state detector 6 and recognizes the OFF state of the relay 3 (step S66). After the recognition, the controller 4 blocks communication between the ASIC 9 and the storage device 7 (step S67).
In the present embodiment, when the controller 4 recognizes that the
In the power management system according to the embodiment of the present invention, a relay is provided separately from the physical power SW, and the safety of the device is managed by controlling the off timing of the relay. With this configuration, it is possible to detect a state in which the relay is out of order and cannot be controlled. In addition, by sending a message to that effect, it is possible to know the failure state, and it is effective in preventing the failure of the device and preventing damage or loss of the parts and data in the device.

In addition, when detecting the relay OFF state, the relay OFF state is detected in consideration of the timing difference between the power switch SW and the relay ON, so that no erroneous relay failure is detected, and unnecessary parts replacement is reduced. Effective for detecting parts.
In addition, when relay interruption is detected, the relay is instructed to shift to the ON state again, so that relay interruption due to software abnormality can be avoided, which is effective for useless parts replacement and reliable defective part detection. is there.
In addition, when a relay disconnection is detected, the display means, voice, and network transmission means can be used to notify the user, administrator, and service person at the same time that a failure has occurred. This is effective in preventing damage and loss of parts and data in equipment.
