In the conventional configuration in which a fixed wiring is used for signal connection between the portable electronic device main body and the display device, the movable range between the two is limited to the length range or the deformable range of the wiring. It becomes a big limiting factor in the design of the.

In order to increase the display area, both the housing for housing the main body and the housing for housing the display device, or the latter, must be enlarged, and portability is impaired.

The present invention has been made in view of such inconveniences, and an object of the present invention is to present a portable device that can ensure a wider display area without impairing portability.

A portable device according to the present invention is equipped with a first housing having a first display panel on one side and a second display panel on one side, and the first and second display panels are oriented in the same direction. A second casing that is stacked on the first casing in a state where the first display casing is concealed, a concealing position for concealing the second display panel, and the second display panel. A portable device including a second housing that is slidably supported between the exposed position and the exposed position, wherein the first and second housings communicate with each other at the exposed position of the second display panel. Signal connection means is provided for connecting and blocking signal connection between the first and second housings at a concealing position of the second display panel.

In the present invention, since the signal connection between the first and second casings does not always use means for physically connecting such as a flexible printed circuit board, the first casing and the second casing are physically connected. It is also possible to separate them, and usability is greatly improved. If the display panel has image memory characteristics, it is possible to remove the display panel while displaying the desired contents. For example, after displaying the map, only the display panel is removed and used for navigation. Is possible.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is an overall perspective view of a portable device 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. 2 shows a central cross-sectional view as seen from line AA in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows an exploded perspective view. FIG. 4 is a plan view showing a state in which the entire display device can be used when being pulled out.

The mobile device 10 according to the present embodiment includes three plate-like base cases 20, 30, and 40, and display panels 22, 32, and 42 are provided on the same side of each base case 20, 30, and 40. . As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, walls 24 and 26 that can slidably accommodate the base housing 30 are erected downward from two opposing ends of the base housing 20. Similarly, walls 34 and 36 that can accommodate the base casing 40 in a slidable manner are erected downward from two opposing ends of the base casing 30.

The tips of the walls 24 and 26 have convex portions 24a and 26a protruding inward, and recesses 34b and 36b are formed on the outer surfaces of the walls 34 and 36 corresponding to the convex portions 24a and 26a. As a result, the base casing 30 can be accommodated by sliding from the lateral direction in a space below the base casing 20 formed by the base casing 20 and the walls 24 and 26. Similarly, the ends of the walls 34 and 36 have convex portions 34a and 36a projecting inward, and recesses 44b and 46b are formed on the end surface of the base housing 40 corresponding to the convex portions 34a and 36a. . As a result, the base casing 40 can be accommodated by sliding from the lateral direction in a space below the base casing 30 formed by the base casing 30 and the walls 34 and 36.

That is, in the present embodiment, the configuration including the standing walls 24, 26, 34, 36, the convex portions 24 a, 26 a, 34 a, 34 b, and the recesses 34 b, 36 b, 44 b, 46 b is A configuration is realized in which the body 30 is accommodated so as to be slidable in the horizontal direction and the base case 40 is accommodated in the base case 30 so as to be slidable in the horizontal direction. In FIG. 4, both the base housings 30 and 40 are slid and pulled out in the horizontal direction, but it is obvious that only one of the slide plates 30 and 40 can be pulled out.

A structure in which the base casings 30 and 40 are not dropped from the base casing 20 will be described. As shown in FIG. 3, the stopper plate 12 is screwed to the end surface of the base housing 20 on the outlet side when the base housings 30 and 40 are inserted into the lower portion of the base housing 20. This prevents the base casings 30 and 40 from falling off in the direction of the stopper plate 12. Of course, the stopper plate 12 may be eliminated, and the base casings 30 and 40 may be slid and removed from the base casings 20 and 30 in both directions, respectively.

In the present embodiment, the base casings 30 and 40 are engaged with the base casings 20 and 30 in a state where the base casings 30 and 40 are pulled out to predetermined positions with respect to the base casings 20 and 30 by the locking mechanism 50 described below. It can be stopped. FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of the locking mechanism 50 between the base casings 20 and 30 in the drawer position, and FIG. 6 is a position where the base casing 30 is accommodated on the lower surface of the base casing 20 (or a position that is not the drawer position). ) Shows a cross-sectional view of the locking mechanism 50. The locking mechanism 50 between the base casings 30 and 40 also has the same structure.

A hole 52 is formed near the stopper plate 12 on the upper surface of the base housing 30 (that is, the surface facing the bottom surface of the base housing 20 and equipped with the display panel 32). A ball 56 biased toward the bottom surface of the base housing 20 by a spring 54 is embedded. Due to the biasing force of the spring 54, the ball 56 protrudes from the upper surface of the base housing 30 in a free state.

On the other hand, a recess 58 for receiving the ball 56 is provided on the lower surface of the base housing 20 facing the ball 56 at a predetermined position where the base housing 30 is pulled out from the base housing 20. As the ball 56 enters the recess 58, the base casing 30 is locked to the base casing 20 at a predetermined position pulled out from the base casing 20 as shown in FIG. By providing the locking mechanism 50 including the spring 54, the ball 56, and the recess 58 on the slide wall 24 side and the slide wall 26 side, the base housing 30 can be stably locked to the base housing 20.

It is obvious that a configuration corresponding to the hole 52, the spring 54, and the ball 56 may be provided on the lower surface of the base housing 20, and a configuration corresponding to the recess 58 may be provided on the upper surface of the base housing 30.

In a state where the base housing 30 is housed below the base housing 20, the ball 56 is pushed into the hole 52 by being pushed by the bottom surface of the base housing 20 as shown in FIG. 6.

4, the base housing 20 (internal circuit) is connected in signal connection with the base housing 30 (internal circuit), and the base housing 30 (internal circuit) is connected to the base housing 40 (internal circuit). ) And signal connection. FIG. 7 shows a configuration of a signal connection portion between the base casing 20 (internal circuit) and the base casing 30 (internal circuit). The configuration of the signal connection portion between the base housing 30 (internal circuit) and the base housing 40 (internal circuit) is basically the same.

A transmissive window 60 that transmits an optical signal is provided on the bottom surface of the base casing 20, and a transmissive window 80 is provided on the upper surface of the base casing 30 at a position facing the transmissive window 60 when the base casing 30 is pulled out. It is. A light emitting element 62 and a light receiving element 64 are provided in the base casing 20, and a light emitting element 82 facing the light receiving element 64 and a light receiving element 84 facing the light emitting element 64 are provided in the base casing 30. . A communication path is formed between the base casings 20 and 30 by two pairs of photocouplers. That is, the light emitting element 62 and the light receiving element 84, and the light emitting element 82 and the light receiving element 64 face each other so that optical signals can be transmitted and received in a state where the base housing 30 is pulled out to a predetermined drawing position. Has been.

The transmission / reception circuit 66 modulates a signal to be transmitted from the main circuit 68 to drive the light emitting element 62, and the light emitting element 62 emits output signal light toward the light receiving element 84. The light receiving element 64 receives the signal light from the light emitting element 82 and converts it into an electric signal, and the transmission / reception circuit 66 demodulates the electric signal from the light receiving element 64 and supplies it to the main circuit 68. The main circuit 68 displays necessary information on the display device 22. The power supply battery 70 supplies power necessary for the operation of the transmission / reception circuit 66, the main circuit 68, and the display device 22 to them.

The configuration and operation in the base casing 30 are basically the same as those of the base casing 20. The transmission / reception circuit 86 modulates a signal to be transmitted from the main circuit 88 to drive the light emitting element 82, and the light emitting element 82 emits output signal light toward the light receiving element 64. The light receiving element 84 receives the signal light from the light emitting element 62 and converts it into an electric signal, and the transmission / reception circuit 86 demodulates the electric signal from the light receiving element 84 and supplies it to the main circuit 88. The main circuit 88 displays necessary information on the display device 32. The power supply battery 90 supplies power necessary for the operation of the transmission / reception circuit 86, the main circuit 88, and the display device 32 to them.

In a situation where a plurality of monitors can be used, the contents to be displayed are distributed and displayed on the plurality of monitors. Thereby, more contents can be displayed at a time.

In this embodiment, since means for physically connecting the casings 20, 30, 40, such as a flexible printed circuit board, is not used at all times, it is possible to physically separate them, which greatly improves usability. improves.
