Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a catheter having a guide wire as a medical device and a method for manufacturing the catheter.
As for medical device products related to treatment, it is generally assumed that the patient who used the device had a metal allergy when using it, and it is common to create a medical device product without using metal that can be an allergen Has been done. For example, nickel is used as plating material for many industrial products, but is rarely used for medical equipment because it is an allergen.
On the other hand, since it is not an allergen, metals with a low ionization tendency are common, but there are many rare metals including special alloys and noble metals. For this reason, a special method is often used to join such metals together and assemble them as a product.
For example, in a guide wire that is an instrument belonging to a catheter for cardiac stenosis surgery, the metal constituting the part is a SUS304 wire, not a SUS304 coil or a platinum wire coil containing 8% tungsten and a general metal. Since the medical device is a device for correcting a stenosis in the coronary artery of the heart from inside the blood vessel, the tip is made very thin. The diameter of the coil portion is generally 0.25 to 0.3 mm, and the diameter of the core material associated with the coil is generally 0.3 mm.
Currently, a soldering method is used when assembling a coil component to the tip of a core material. Most of them use a method of placing solder pellets on a fixed solder iron, melting the solder pellets, applying flux, and soaking them in the gaps of the coil to join the core material. In this method, a solder pellet is placed at the joint between the coil and the core material, and the coil, the core material, and the solder pellet are simultaneously heated with a soldering iron, and the solder melts to solder the coil and the core material.
However, since the solder iron is a relatively large heat source, the heat spreads over a wide area when placed on a metal with high thermal conductivity, and the melted solder reaches a wide temperature range. Tend to flow over a wide area. Since the guide wire must reach the stenosis through the tortuous blood vessel from the base of the foot or the wrist to the coronary artery of the heart, flexibility and toughness are required at the same time. Moreover, the value must always be constant. However, since the range where the solder stays varies, the hardness of the portion where the solder adheres increases. In addition, since the bonding strength between the coil and the core material varies, there is a high possibility that the coil is detached from the core material in the body, leading to a medical accident.
If the range where the solder stays varies, it means that the amount of solder for fixing the core material and the coil varies, that is, the bonding strength between the core material and the coil varies. At present, skilled personnel are required for this work, preventing the stability and rationalization of quality.
An object of the present invention is to obtain a catheter in which solder is fixed at an appropriate position (range) and the adhesion strength between the coil and the core material is made constant, and a method for manufacturing the catheter.
In order to solve this problem, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a catheter having a guide wire comprising a coil and a core material disposed on an inner peripheral portion of the coil, the coil and the core material, The catheter is manufactured using a laser that continuously emits laser light.
For joining, it is preferable to use a fusion material such as solder.
According to the present invention, the joint strength between the coil and the core material and the solder position can be stabilized. In addition, the process can be automated by using a laser device. In this way, the process can be machined (automated) so that the condition setting and procedure can be standardized, and at the same time the process can be set without requiring a skilled worker. This can reduce the labor cost.
Solder used for medical equipment is lead-free solder, among which solder mainly composed of tin and silver is becoming mainstream. In the present invention, solder composed mainly of tin, silver and copper is used as a fusion material for joining the members. In this case, silver having a weight concentration of 3% and copper having a weight concentration of 0.7% is used, and its melting point is approximately 217 degrees Celsius. In order to prevent the solder from flowing out to the part other than the joining part, it is important to keep the part that is equal to or higher than the melting point of the solder in a narrow range as much as possible, but it is also necessary to keep the heat source for raising the temperature within an appropriate range. In order to control the heat supply, soldering iron is inappropriate. Therefore, laser light was used as a heat source. There are two types of laser light generators: a pulse type and a continuous type (also called a fiber type laser). Initially, we felt that the solder was melted using a pulsed laser generator, but the irradiation amount and irradiation position were unstable, and soldering was more stable compared to fiber lasers that irradiate laser light continuously. I couldn't melt it. Another advantage of using laser light is that the irradiation position can be set in a pinpoint manner. In this respect, the fiber type laser is superior to the pulse type laser and the soldering work by skilled workers. Therefore, a fiber type laser is used in the present invention.
The apparatus configuration used in carrying out the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The
Each mechanism will be described. As for the
For this reason, the temperature can be kept higher than the melting point of the solder at the irradiation position, and the temperature can be kept below the melting point of the solder in places other than the irradiation position including the vicinity of the irradiation position.
As the solder pellets, solder mainly composed of tin, silver and copper was used, and lead-free solder having a silver weight ratio of 7% and a copper weight ratio of 0.7% and a melting point of 217 degrees was used.
The medical device to be manufactured in the present invention is a guide wire, and the guide wire coil and the welding of the core material disposed on the inner peripheral portion of the coil are roughly classified into two types. There are a case where a coil made of one type of metal material and a core material are welded and a case where two types of coils having different metal types are welded to the core material. As the metal species, an alloy in which platinum is mixed with a metal used for setting the hardness to an appropriate value and SUS304 is used as a radiopaque material. In the former case, an alloy called Pt08 material in which 8% of tungsten is mixed is generally used.
(Embodiment 1)
In the present embodiment, the welding of the coil 12 and the core material 13 created using the Pt08 material will be described. The coil was formed by winding a wire having a diameter of 0.06 mm and having an outer diameter of 03 mm. Two types of coils 12 having different winding methods were prepared. A coil having a pitch of 120 microns was coarsely wound, and a coil having a pitch of 25 microns was densely wound. The core material 13 used was a material obtained by tapering a bar made of SUS304 having a diameter of 03 mm. This is because the core material 13 has a tapered shape.

The fiber type laser oscillator 7 used in this embodiment can reduce the beam diameter to 0.16 mm, but considering the practicality and the solder diameter, the beam diameter is set to 0.4 mm. did. Since it is necessary to determine where the beam falls when the solder diameter is close to the beam diameter, the laser beam is directly applied to the solder pellet placed on the coil, or one of the coil and the solder pellet. An experiment was conducted to determine whether to hit the part. FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram showing the position where the laser beam 15 is applied. FIG. 3A shows the laser beam 15 applied directly above the
Next, a soldering experiment was conducted even when the

In this embodiment, in the case where the
What should be noted in this soldering is that the two types of
Even if the coil conditions change in mass production of the guide wire, it is preferable that the laser conditions do not change. Therefore, the conditions of the
Furthermore, when the working time was compared between the method using a conventional solder iron and the method of the present invention, the working time was reduced by 31% compared to the conventional method.
In the present invention, the guide wire is taken up and soldering by a laser welding machine has been described. However, in many catheters other than the guide wire, different types of metal parts are joined to form a product. As an example, in an electrode catheter or an incineration treatment catheter, since the flexibility in the blood vessel is constant and the bonding strength between parts is required, the soldering method of the present invention may be used.
