Abstract
Description
According to the present invention, the recording paper supplied on the surface of the platen disposed at a position facing the print head for ejecting ink is sucked through the suction holes formed in the platen, thereby allowing the surface of the platen to be sucked. The present invention belongs to a technical field related to an ink jet printer provided with an electric suction fan to be held by suction.
However, in an inkjet printer having a platen provided with the above-described suction holes, as the recording paper enters the platen and closes the suction holes, the number of suction holes in a non-closed state decreases, The air flow rate led from the suction hole to the suction fan increases. For this reason, there is a problem in that the ink ejected from the print head is sucked into the suction hole and the landing position of the ink deviates from a predetermined position.
In order to solve this problem, it may be possible to weaken the suction force of the suction fan. In this case, however, there is a problem that the adsorbability of the recording paper onto the platen surface is lowered and the recording paper is lifted from the platen. is there.
The present invention has been made in view of such a point, and the object of the present invention is to prevent the recording paper from being lifted due to a decrease in the suction pressure acting on the suction hole and to discharge ink from the print head. In other words, the ink landing position is prevented from being displaced by being sucked into the suction hole in the non-blocking state.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention comprises a rotation speed detection means for detecting the rotation speed of the electric suction fan, a current control means for controlling the drive current value of the electric suction fan, and a platen suction hole. It is judged from the rotational speed of the suction fan detected by the rotational speed detection means whether or not the suction pressure acting on the target matches the target suction pressure. The drive current value of the electric suction fan is changed by the current control means so as to match the target suction pressure.
Specifically, in the first aspect of the present invention, in the printing unit that discharges ink from the print head and prints on the recording paper, the recording paper supply unit that supplies the recording paper to the printing unit, and the printing unit, A platen disposed so as to face the print head and supporting the recording paper supplied from the recording paper supply unit and having a suction hole for sucking the supported recording paper; An electric suction fan that is disposed on the side opposite to the side that supports the recording paper and that sucks and holds the recording paper on the platen by applying a suction pressure to the suction hole, and printing the recording paper An inkjet printer that includes a print conveyance unit that is sometimes conveyed to the opposite side of the recording paper supply unit while being attracted to the platen is an object.
Then, when the rotation speed detecting means for detecting the rotation speed of the electric suction fan and the rotation speed of the electric suction fan detected by the rotation speed detection means are different from a predetermined rotation speed, the suction pressure is set in advance. It is different from the target suction pressure, and is provided with current control means for changing the drive current value of the electric suction fan so as to make the suction pressure coincide with the target suction pressure.
According to this configuration, the rotation speed detection unit detects the rotation speed of the electric suction fan, and the current control unit detects the suction pressure (when the rotation speed of the electric suction fan is different from a predetermined rotation speed). Assuming that the suction pressure acting on the suction hole of the platen is different from the target suction pressure, the drive current value of the electric suction fan is changed so that the suction pressure matches the target suction pressure.
By the way, as the recording paper enters the platen during printing and closes the printing holes, the flow velocity of air sucked from the suction holes in the non-closed state increases, and the suction pressure acting on the suction holes increases. At the same time, the rotational speed of the electric suction fan increases as the suction resistance increases. On the other hand, after the trailing edge of the recording paper passes through the suction hole located on the uppermost stream side of the platen during printing, the number of suction holes in the non-blocking state gradually increases. The suctioned air pressure decreases and the suction pressure acting on the suction hole decreases, and the rotational speed of the electric suction fan decreases due to a decrease in suction resistance. As described above, the rotational speed of the electric suction fan and the suction pressure acting on the suction hole have a corresponding relationship. In the present invention, the rotational speed detected by the rotational speed detecting means is determined using this fact. When the rotational speed is different from the predetermined rotational speed, the suction pressure is different from the target suction pressure, and the drive current value of the electric suction fan is changed by the current control means so that the suction pressure matches the target suction pressure. As a result, the suction pressure becomes higher than the target suction pressure, so that the ink ejected from the print head can be prevented from being sucked into the suction holes in the non-blocking state, and the suction pressure is reduced to the target pressure. It is possible to prevent the recording paper from being lifted by lowering the height. Therefore, it is possible to achieve both the prevention of the displacement of the landing position of the ink discharged from the print head onto the recording paper and the prevention of the recording paper from lifting from the platen, and the printing quality of the recording paper can be remarkably improved. Further, there is no need to provide a sensor or the like for detecting the suction pressure, and the cost of the entire apparatus can be reduced.
According to a second aspect of the invention, in the first aspect of the invention, the predetermined rotational speed is a rotational speed of the electric suction fan such that the suction pressure coincides with the target suction pressure. The rotation speed is determined accordingly.
According to this, the predetermined rotation speed is a rotation speed determined according to the drive current value of the electric suction fan as the rotation speed of the electric suction fan such that the suction pressure matches the target suction pressure. Therefore, when the rotation speed of the electric suction fan detected by the rotation speed detection means is different from the predetermined rotation speed determined with respect to the current drive current value of the electric suction fan, the suction pressure is equal to the target suction pressure. Can be judged different. Therefore, the same effect as that of the invention of
According to a third aspect of the invention, in the first or second aspect of the invention, the current control means is configured such that when the rotational speed detected by the rotational speed detecting means is greater than a predetermined rotational speed, the suction pressure is the target suction. It is assumed that the driving current value of the electric suction fan is reduced so as to reduce the suction pressure to the target suction pressure as being higher than the pressure.
According to this configuration, the current control means determines that the suction pressure is higher than the target suction pressure when the rotation speed detected by the rotation speed detection means is greater than the predetermined rotation speed, and the drive current value of the electric suction fan. By reducing the pressure, the suction pressure is reduced to the target suction pressure. Therefore, it is possible to more reliably prevent the ink discharged from the print head to the recording paper at the time of printing from being attracted to the suction hole in the non-blocking state. Therefore, it is possible to improve the print quality of the recording paper as much as possible.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the invention according to any one of the first to third aspects, when the rotation speed detected by the rotation speed detection means is smaller than a predetermined rotation speed, the current control means It is assumed that the driving current value of the electric suction fan is increased so as to increase the suction pressure to the target suction pressure as being lower than the target suction pressure.
According to this configuration, the current control means determines that the suction pressure is lower than the target suction pressure when the rotation speed detected by the rotation speed detection means is lower than the predetermined rotation speed, and the drive current value of the electric suction fan. Increase. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the recording paper from being lifted due to insufficient suction pressure at the suction hole and to ensure sufficient flatness. Therefore, it is possible to improve the print quality of the recording paper as much as possible.
As described above, according to the ink jet printer of the present invention, the rotation speed detection means for detecting the rotation speed of the electric suction fan and the current control means for controlling the drive current value of the electric suction fan are provided, and for platen suction. It is judged from the rotational speed of the suction fan detected by the rotational speed detection means whether or not the suction pressure acting on the hole matches the target suction pressure. Since the drive current value of the electric suction fan is changed by the current control means so that the pressure matches the target suction pressure, the recording paper can be prevented from being lifted due to a decrease in the suction pressure acting on the suction hole, and printing can be performed. The ink discharged from the head is attracted to the suction hole that is in the non-blocking state, and it is possible to achieve both prevention of positional deviation of the ink landing position. Te, it is possible to remarkably improve the print quality of the recording paper.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows an external appearance of an inkjet printer A according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 schematically shows an internal configuration of the inkjet printer A. The ink jet printer A is used in a photographic print system. For example, the ink jet printer A is a recording paper based on image data transmitted via a communication cable from a reception block that acquires image data and performs necessary correction processing and the like. Printing is performed on P (see FIGS. 3 and 6). The recording paper P is a cut sheet of a predetermined size, and a plurality of types of sizes are preset as the sizes (the length of the recording paper P and the length of the recording paper P are set according to the size of the recording paper P). Width is decided).
The ink jet printer A includes a printer
As shown in FIG. 2, in a state where the double-
The
As shown in detail in FIG. 3, a

The tray

The print head H is movable along two

Here, as a configuration for ink discharge of the print head H in the present embodiment, ink is discharged from an ink discharge nozzle communicating with the pressure chamber by changing the volume of the pressure chamber filled with ink by a piezo element. The general piezo type is used.

The electric suction fan 37 includes an impeller 37a and an electric motor 37b that rotationally drives the impeller 37a.
The electric motor 37b is a DC motor, and includes a rotary encoder 37c for detecting a rotational speed that is coaxially disposed on the rotation shaft thereof. The rotary encoder 37c is a rotational speed (rotational angle) of the electric motor 37b. Is output to the
The
Specifically, the
In this embodiment, the
Then, the
Here, the predetermined rotational speeds Na to Nc are rotational speeds of the suction fan 37 such that the suction pressure matches the target suction pressure Pt. The set rotational speeds Na ′ to Nd ′ are rotational speeds at which the suction pressure in the sealed space S becomes the upper threshold suction pressure PL or the lower threshold suction pressure PS, and the upper suction pressure PL is recorded by the print head H. The suction pressure PS is set below the upper limit of the suction pressure so as not to affect the flight path of the ink ejected onto the paper P, and the lower suction pressure PS secures the flatness by sucking and holding the recording paper P on the
A specific example of the duty ratio change control in the
In the same figure, curves k1 to k3 respectively show an air volume-suction pressure characteristic curve (hereinafter referred to as a suction pressure characteristic curve) when the duty ratio of the fan drive current is Z1, Z2, and Z3. Here, the air volume is the amount of air sent out of the sealed space S by the suction fan 37, and the suction pressure is a value obtained by subtracting the static pressure in the sealed space S from the atmospheric pressure as described above. Larger means that the static pressure in the sealed space S is low and air is easily sucked into the sealed space S from the
Curves s1 to s3 indicate air volume-rotational speed characteristic curves (hereinafter referred to as speed characteristic curves) when the duty ratio of the fan drive current is Z1, Z2, and Z3, respectively. It is the amount of air sent out of the sealed space S, and the rotation speed is the rotation speed of the suction fan 37.
A curve r (r1 to r3) is a blockage rate of the suction holes 23b of the platen 23 (= the closed area of the suction holes 23b closed by the recording paper P / the total opening area of the suction holes 23b × 100). In the following, a resistance characteristic curve r determined by the suction hole closing rate is shown, and the curve r1 indicates that the suction hole closing rate is 0% (that is, the
In a state where the recording paper P is not present on the
The recording paper P is transported further downstream, and after the leading end of the recording paper P passes through the
As a result, the operating point of the suction fan 37 moves from the point A to the left side of the drawing along the suction pressure characteristic curve k1, and accordingly, both the suction pressure and the fan rotation speed increase. For this reason, the suction pressure in the sealed space S becomes higher than the target suction pressure Pt, and the air suction force from the suction holes 23b not closed by the recording paper P is higher than the target suction force. However, in this embodiment, if the
Then, the suction pressure characteristic curve k1 is shifted downward as a whole, and the curve k2 becomes a new suction pressure characteristic curve at the duty ratio Z2. For this reason, when the fan rotation speed reaches the set rotation speed Na ′, the operating point of the suction fan 37 at the point A ′ on the suction pressure characteristic curve k1 is along the resistance characteristic curve r2 passing through the point A. It moves downward and moves to the intersection B of the newly set suction pressure characteristic curve k2 and resistance characteristic curve r2. As a result, the suction pressure in the sealed space S decreases at a stretch from the upper threshold suction pressure PL and coincides with the target suction pressure Pt. Also, the speed characteristic curve s1 is shifted downward as a whole by changing the duty ratio to Z2, and the curve s2 becomes a new speed characteristic curve. From this speed characteristic curve s2, the fan corresponding to the operating point B It can be seen that the rotation speed is Nb. It can be seen from FIG. 15 that the speed characteristic curve s shifts downward when the duty ratio is lowered.
After the suction pressure in the sealed space S has decreased to the target suction pressure Pt, the suction hole blockage rate increases and the slope of the resistance characteristic curve r also increases as the recording paper P is further conveyed downstream. It will increase further.
As a result, the operating point of the suction fan 37 moves to the left side of the drawing along the suction pressure characteristic curve k2 (suction pressure characteristic curve k2 corresponding to the duty ratio Z2), and accordingly, the suction pressure and the fan rotational speed are moved. Begins to increase again. When the suction hole closing rate becomes 100% (that is, when all of the suction holes 23b are closed by the recording paper P), the resistance characteristic curve r coincides with the curve r3 and the inclination thereof does not increase. The operating point 37 is an intersection B ′ between the resistance characteristic curve r3 and the suction pressure characteristic curve k2. At the operating point B ′, the fan rotational speed is set to the set rotational speed Nb ′ (see the speed characteristic curve s2). Therefore, the duty ratio change control is executed by the
As a result, the suction pressure characteristic curve k2 shifts downward as a whole, and the curve k3 becomes a new suction pressure characteristic curve at the duty ratio Z3. Similarly, the speed characteristic curve s2 shifts downward as a whole and curves s3. Becomes a new speed characteristic curve at the duty ratio Z3. For this reason, when the fan rotation speed reaches the set rotation speed Nb ′, the operating point of the suction fan 37 at the point B ′ on the suction pressure characteristic curve k2 is along the resistance characteristic curve r3 passing through the point B ′. And move to a point C which is the intersection of the newly set suction pressure characteristic curve k3 and resistance characteristic curve r3. As a result, the suction pressure in the sealed space S decreases from Pb ′ at a stretch and matches the target suction pressure Pt.
After the suction hole closing rate becomes Z1, the suction hole closing rate is maintained constant (Z1) until the trailing edge of the recording paper P passes through the
Then, after the trailing edge of the recording paper P has passed through the
Thereafter, as the recording paper P is further conveyed downstream and the slope of the resistance characteristic curve r decreases, the operating point of the suction fan 37 moves to the right side of the drawing along the suction pressure characteristic curve k2. When all of the suction holes 23b are in the non-blocking state (suction hole blocking rate is 0%), the intersection D ′ between the suction pressure characteristic curve k2 and the resistance characteristic curve r1 becomes the operating point of the suction fan 37. At this operating point D ′, the suction pressure is reduced to the lower threshold pressure PS lower than the target suction pressure Pt, but the fan rotation speed becomes the set rotation speed Nd ′ (see the speed characteristic curve s2). Therefore, the duty ratio change control is executed by the

Thus, in the present embodiment, it is assumed that the suction pressure in the sealed space S becomes higher than the target suction pressure Pt in the process in which the recording paper P enters the
In this way, the suction pressure can be reduced to the target suction pressure before the suction pressure in the sealed space S becomes too high, and the ink ejected from the print head H to the recording paper P is non- It is possible to reliably prevent the ink landing position from being deviated from a predetermined position by being sucked into the
Further, in this embodiment, the suction in the sealed space S is performed in the process in which the trailing edge of the recording paper P passes through the
By doing so, it is possible to prevent the suction pressure from being lowered more than necessary and prevent the recording paper P from being lifted from the
In the present embodiment, the
The
Here, when performing borderless printing, ink is ejected to the edge of the recording paper P in the width direction, and ink protruding from the edge is absorbed by the

Between the two pairs of conveying
Of all the conveying roller pairs 46, 48, 50 of the
All the
The
The

The transport path in the
In the entire
All the driving
In the
The
The
Here, a method of switching back the recording paper P conveyed from the
Subsequently, the
Thereafter, the
The
Below the
The
A
In the vicinity of the
As shown in FIG. 10, a
As shown in FIG. 11, the upper release levers 82 and the lower release levers 83 are rotatable around
The
As described above, the
The one (left side in FIG. 10)
However, the urging force of the
Accordingly, the
The correction operation is executed once or a plurality of times for the same recording paper P. When the correction operation is executed a plurality of times, when the recording paper P is conveyed by a predetermined amount from the resumption of the conveyance. Then, the conveyance is stopped again, and the same operation as described above is repeated. The number of executions of the correction operation is determined according to the characteristics of the recording paper P (dimensional characteristics such as length and thickness, and material characteristics such as hardness and surface quality (gloss and matte)). For example, the number of executions is increased as the length of the recording paper P (the size of the recording paper P input by the operator as described above) is increased, and the position in the width direction over the entire length of the recording paper P is increased. Perform the correction. Further, since the recording paper P is difficult to move in the width direction due to a large thickness or hardness of the recording paper P (input by an operator or stored in an IC chip and reading it), the recording paper P becomes difficult to move in the width direction. Increase the number of executions by as much. It is preferable to change the position (that is, the predetermined position and the predetermined amount) at which the recording paper P is stopped when the correction operation is performed according to the number of times of execution.
In this way, the recording paper P is supplied to the printing conveyance unit 22 (printing unit 21) in a state where it is accurately aligned with the reference position in the width direction of the conveyance path. In this way, printing is performed stably, and the print quality is improved.
The
The recording paper P printed on the back side is switched by the
The recording paper resupply unit 88 is capable of holding at least one recording paper P printed before the recording paper P while the
For example, when performing double-sided printing on the smallest recording paper P among the plurality of sizes, the first to fourth recording paper P is continuously supplied from the
When printing on the back side surface of the fourth recording sheet P is completed, the fifth to eighth recording sheets P are continuously supplied from the
Therefore, in this embodiment, when performing double-sided printing on only one recording sheet P, the recording sheet P printed on the front side passes through the long conveyance path of the recording sheet refeeding unit 88, and then Since printing is performed on the back side of the recording paper P, the processing time becomes long. However, when performing double-sided printing on a predetermined number or more of recording paper for business use or the like, at least one sheet is supplied by the recording paper refeeding unit 88 The other recording paper P can be printed while the recording paper P is being conveyed, and the printing processing capability can be improved. In addition, the ink attached to the front side of the recording paper P in the
