Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technique for processing the surface of a workpiece by irradiating a laser beam.
Laser light not only has a high light intensity, but also has a uniform wavelength and phase, so that it can be condensed in a very small region using an optical system. Therefore, by condensing and irradiating a laser beam to a small area on the surface of the workpiece, the workpiece is cut using the energy of the laser beam, a hole is made, or a groove is dug. Laser processing apparatuses that perform various types of processing are known. There is also a laser processing machine that engraves characters, graphics, symbols, and the like by processing only the outermost surface of the workpiece by condensing laser light.
In these laser processing machines, it is important to accurately focus the laser beam on the surface of the object to be processed on the principle of processing. Therefore, the distance (inter-workpiece distance) between the objective lens for converging and emitting the laser beam and the workpiece is measured, and the laser processing machine is moved relative to the workpiece based on the measurement result. (Patent Document 1), conversely, the object to be processed is moved with respect to the laser processing machine (Patent Document 2), and further, by adjusting the focal length when the laser processing machine collects the laser light. (Patent Document 3), a technique has been proposed in which laser light can be accurately focused on the surface of a workpiece.
However, it is not so easy to accurately measure the distance between the objective lens of the laser beam machine and the surface of the workpiece (workpiece distance). Therefore, the workpiece is processed with high accuracy. There was a problem that was not so easy. That is, in order to accurately measure the distance between the workpieces, the position where the distance is measured on the surface of the workpiece must be exactly matched to the position to be machined. For this reason, the distance is measured. A very troublesome adjustment is required on the device side.
In addition, when moving the laser processing machine in order to move the processing position, the distance meter must also be moved at the same time, so a large-scale movement mechanism is required, and since the movement takes time, rapid processing is required. It becomes difficult to do. Of course, if the workpiece is moved, the laser processing machine and the distance meter do not need to be moved, but even in this case, it is a large-scale operation for accurately moving the workpiece while stably holding the workpiece. A similar problem arises because a moving mechanism is required.
The present invention has been completed in view of the circumstances as described above, and an object thereof is to provide a laser processing machine capable of processing the surface of an object to be processed easily and quickly. .

In order to solve at least a part of the problems described above, the laser processing machine of the present invention employs the following configuration. That is,
In a laser processing machine for processing a workpiece by irradiating the surface of the workpiece with laser light emitted from a laser light source,
A pair of reflecting mirrors that can be rotated in different directions is configured, and by controlling the rotational position of each reflecting mirror, two laser beams from the laser light source are generated on the surface of the workpiece. A galvano scanner to scan in dimension,
Machining data storage means for storing machining data to be machined on the surface of the workpiece;
Scanning control means for scanning the irradiation position on the surface of the object to be processed by controlling the galvano scanner based on the processing data;
A lens for converging laser light from the galvano scanner onto the workpiece, and a laser at an emission angle along the central axis of the lens regardless of an incident angle by the galvano scanner scanning the laser light. An fθ lens that emits light;
Provided between the laser light source and the galvano scanner and changing the beam diameter of the laser light, the focal position where the laser light is converged by the fθ lens is set in the optical axis direction of the laser light. A focal position moving means for moving;
In front of the galvano scanner, light is incident on the same axis as the optical axis of the laser beam, and is reflected on the surface of the workpiece and received back on the same axis as the optical axis of the laser beam. A distance information detecting means for detecting distance information related to the distance to the surface of the workpiece,
Prior to processing the workpiece, the distance on the path of scanning the laser light is detected by detecting the distance information using the distance information detecting means while scanning the irradiation position of the laser light. Distance information data generating means for generating distance information data as information;
While supplying the distance information data to the focal position moving means and changing the focal position of the laser light, the processing data is supplied to the scanning control means and the laser light is scanned, thereby the object to be processed And surface processing means for processing the surface of the object.
In such a laser processing machine of the present invention, the surface of the workpiece is detected by detecting information (distance information) about the distance to the surface of the workpiece and irradiating the workpiece with laser light. The workpiece can be appropriately processed by condensing the laser beam accurately on the top. Here, when detecting the distance information, light is incident on the same axis as the optical axis of the laser beam from the previous stage of the galvano scanner, reflected on the surface of the workpiece, and coaxial with the optical axis of the laser beam. The distance information is detected by receiving the light returned to. Further, when processing the surface of the workpiece, the distance information is detected while scanning the irradiation position of the light on the surface of the workpiece by controlling the galvano scanner. Distance information data that is distance information is detected in advance. Then, while adjusting the focal position of the laser beam using the distance information data obtained in this way, the galvano scanner is controlled according to the processing data, and the surface of the workpiece is processed by scanning the laser beam.
In this way, since the optical axis of the laser beam coincides with the optical axis of the incident light for detecting the distance information between the upstream side of the galvano scanner and the surface of the workpiece, the galvano scanner Regardless of how the laser beam is scanned using a scanner, distance information regarding the distance to the surface irradiated with the laser beam can always be accurately detected. That is, it is possible to detect the distance (distance information) to the accurate processing position irradiated with the laser light without performing troublesome optical axis adjustment, and by moving the focal position based on the detection result The laser beam can be accurately focused on the surface of the workpiece and the workpiece can be processed appropriately.
Further, since the distance information data can be generated by scanning the surface of the workpiece before processing the workpiece, three-dimensional data indicating the surface shape of the workpiece is previously stored. There is no need to create it. In addition, since there are dimensional differences and tolerances in the actual workpiece, there is a possibility that the intended result cannot be obtained even if machining is performed based on the three-dimensional data. Furthermore, an error may occur in the positional accuracy or height at which the workpiece is installed in the laser processing machine. For this reason, even if it processes based on highly accurate three-dimensional data, the case where it cannot process as intended may occur. If it is going to avoid such a thing, it is necessary to position a to-be-processed object correctly, and to install in a laser processing machine, Complicated work is needed. In this respect, in the laser processing machine of the present invention, since the distance is measured using the workpiece to be actually processed, it is necessary to perform complicated operations such as accurately positioning the workpiece. Therefore, accurate processing can be performed.
In addition, since the processing position can be changed using a galvano scanner, it is possible to detect distance information very quickly and to process an object to be processed extremely quickly. Furthermore, an fθ lens of a type that emits laser light at an emission angle along the lens central axis is provided between the galvano scanner and the workpiece to be processed regardless of the incident angle obtained by scanning the laser light. . Therefore, regardless of the position where the distance information is detected, the light can be always incident on the surface of the workpiece at the same angle, and the light reflected at the same angle can always be received to detect the distance information. . As a result, it becomes possible to detect the distance information more accurately, and accordingly, it is possible to accurately focus the laser beam on the surface of the object to be processed and to process it appropriately. Of course, since the laser beam is converged through the above-described fθ lens even during processing, the surface of the workpiece is always irradiated with the same angle regardless of the processing position. Can be performed.
Moreover, in the laser processing machine of this invention mentioned above, you may detect the distance information to the surface of a to-be-processed object as follows. First, light for detecting distance information is incident on the same axis as the optical axis of the laser beam before the focal position moving means. Then, the light reflected by the surface of the workpiece and returning to the same axis as the optical axis of the laser light is detected via the focal position moving means. At this time, the focal position where the intensity of the detected light is maximized may be detected as distance information by moving the focal position using the focal position moving means.
By doing so, the intensity of the detected light is maximized when the incident light is collected on the surface of the workpiece, so that the focal position at that time can be used as distance information. Since the focus position moving means used to detect the distance information can be used to focus the laser beam on the surface of the object to be processed, the laser beam can be used using the detection result of the distance information. Can be focused on the surface of the workpiece very accurately. As a result, the workpiece can be processed more appropriately.
Further, in the laser processing machine of the present invention described above, while controlling the galvano scanner based on the processing data to be processed on the surface of the workpiece, while scanning the irradiation position on the surface of the workpiece, The distance information data may be generated by detecting the distance information. Then, the surface of the workpiece may be processed by correcting the focal position of the laser light according to the distance information data while scanning the laser light according to the processing data.
In this way, only distance information on the path to be machined using laser light can be detected, so the distance information data can be minimized, and the distance information can be quickly detected and the workpiece to be processed. It becomes possible to process the surface of the substrate quickly. Further, as described above, the optical axis of the laser beam during processing and the optical axis of the distance information detection light are completely coincident at least from the galvano scanner to the surface of the workpiece. Thus, it is possible to detect the distance information on the machining path accurately and quickly. As a result, the surface of the workpiece can be processed easily and quickly.
In the laser processing machine of the present invention described above, after the light intensity of the laser light emitted from the laser light source is attenuated, the distance information may be detected using the attenuated laser light.
By doing so, the optical axis of the laser beam when processing the workpiece can be completely matched with the optical axis of the laser beam when detecting the distance information to the surface of the workpiece. Even without any optical axis adjustment, distance information to the surface of the workpiece can always be detected accurately. Strictly speaking, the reflectivity at various mirrors and the focal position of an optical lens or the like slightly differ depending on the wavelength of light. Therefore, if distance information is detected using a laser beam for processing, accurate distance information can be detected without being affected at all by the difference in wavelength, so that the surface of the workpiece can be more accurately detected. Processing can be performed by condensing the laser beam. In addition, since it is not necessary to provide a light source for detecting distance information separately from the laser light source for processing, the structure of the laser processing machine can be simplified and the laser processing machine can be downsized. Is possible.
Further, in the laser processing machine of the present invention that detects distance information using laser light whose light intensity has been attenuated, the light intensity of the laser light emitted from the laser light source is attenuated by controlling the laser light source. However, the light intensity of the laser light may be attenuated as follows. That is, a light intensity attenuator may be provided after the laser light source, and the light intensity of the laser light emitted from the laser light source may be emitted after being attenuated by the light intensity attenuator.
By doing so, it is not necessary to change the operating conditions of the laser light source, and therefore the laser light can be emitted while operating the laser light source constantly and efficiently. As a result, the workpiece can be processed stably and efficiently.
Moreover, in the laser processing machine of this invention mentioned above, you may be as follows. That is, when the distance information detected by the distance information detection unit is out of the range in which the focus position can be moved by the focus position moving unit, the fact may be notified.
For example, when the workpiece is not properly mounted on the laser processing machine, or when a different workpiece is accidentally mounted, the distance to the surface of the workpiece is too long, or There may be a case where the focal position of the laser beam cannot be adjusted because it is too close. In such a case, it is possible to avoid improper processing by notifying that the surface of the object to be processed is out of the movable range of the focal position.

A. Configuration of laser processing machine:
FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing a configuration of a
Here, as the
The
The
The
As shown in FIG. 1, the

B. Distance information detection principle:
FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram showing a state in which the
As indicated by a broken line in FIG. 1, the light emitted from the
Further, as described above, in the
In this way, by adjusting the
Now, when the
The case where the beam diameter of the laser beam is increased has been described above. Conversely, when the beam diameter of the laser beam is reduced, the focal position of the laser beam moves to the near side of the surface of the workpiece W. However, as a result of condensing the laser beam on the near side of the surface, a wide range is illuminated on the surface of the workpiece W. For this reason, even when the beam diameter of the laser beam is made too thin, a lot of light is blocked by the pinhole 154p, and the light intensity detected by the
FIG. 2B shows the relationship between the focal position adjustment amount (that is, the beam diameter) by the
Further, if the irradiation position of the laser beam is scanned using the
Note that the beam diameter of the measurement laser beam emitted from the
Alternatively, the beam diameter of the measurement laser light emitted from the
C. Laser processing method:
Next, a method for processing the surface of the workpiece W using the
As shown in the figure, when the laser processing is started, the CPU of the
Subsequently, the CPU of the
FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing a state in which the data of the optimum focal position is measured at a plurality of locations on the path while scanning the laser beam along the machining shape data. FIG. 4A illustrates machining shape data. As shown in the figure, the machining shape data includes a plurality of coordinate points called nodes and connection information between the nodes (for example, whether the node is a start point or an end point, or which node the node is connected to). Information). For example, in the example shown in FIG. 4A, the shape of the letter “A” in the alphabet is expressed by connecting six nodes based on the connection information.
By controlling the
During the measurement of the data on the optimum focal position, the surface of the workpiece W is too close or too far from the
When the data of the optimum focal position on the machining shape path is obtained as described above, the laser beam for machining is emitted from the
In addition, when the coordinate points to be processed can be accurately specified by irradiating the laser beam on the surface of the workpiece W, the measurement laser beam is optimally irradiated only for those coordinate points. You may make it measure the data of a focus position. In this way, accurate optimum focus position data can be measured only for necessary portions, so that rapid and accurate processing can be performed. Of course, it is also possible to calculate the optimum focal position at the coordinate point where the laser light for machining is actually irradiated by performing interpolation calculation from the optimum focal position data obtained at a plurality of locations on the machining path. Alternatively, the optimum focal position at a plurality of coordinate points is calculated in a grid pattern within the region including the machining path, and the optimum focal position on the machining path is interpolated based on the optimum focal position at these coordinate points. By calculating, it is also possible to calculate the data of the optimum focal position on the machining path.
Further, immediately after the start of the laser processing, if it is determined that the workpiece W is not set (step S100: no), an error message is displayed on a display unit (not shown) without performing the above-described series of processing. Is displayed (step S108), and the laser processing in FIG. 3 is terminated.
As described in detail above, in the
In addition, in the above-described embodiment, the light from the
Furthermore, in the above-described embodiment, the distance measurement light is incident along the optical axis of the laser light from the upstream side of the
D. Modified example:
There are several variations in the embodiment described above. Hereinafter, these modified examples will be briefly described.
D-1. First modification:
In the above-described embodiments, the measurement laser light is incident from the upstream side of the beam expander 120 (
FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram showing the structure of the
FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing the principle of measuring the distance to the surface of the workpiece W in the

D-2. Second modification:
In the above-described embodiments and modification examples, it has been described that a light source for distance measurement is provided separately from the
FIG. 7 is an explanatory view showing the structure of the
When measuring the distance to the surface of the workpiece W, the light intensity of the laser beam is attenuated using the
As a method for the
In the
In addition, the reflectance (or transmittance) of the
