Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an X-ray tube that emits primary X-rays and a fluorescent X-ray analyzer.
X-ray tubes used in fluorescent X-ray analyzers that irradiate a sample with primary X-rays, analyze the fluorescent X-rays generated from the sample, and measure the composition and thickness of the sample apply a voltage to the anode It is well known to generate primary X-rays by accelerating the generated electrons and irradiating them with a target serving as a cathode. (For example, see Patent Document 1.)
FIG. 4 shows a partially enlarged schematic sectional view of a conventional X-ray tube.

Both the
However, the following problems remain in the above prior art.
Since the arc of the filament is arranged outside the mounting groove, the equipotential surface near the filament has a shape along the filament. Since the electric field is generated perpendicular to the equipotential surface, the electron beam near the filament is accelerated in the direction of divergence.
That is, since the electron beam having the diverging direction collides with the target, the X-ray generated on the target has a large size equivalent to the diverging electron beam. For this reason, there is a problem that X-rays generated in a large area on the target become a large area when a sample or the like is irradiated through the X-ray emission window.
In order to reduce the area where X-rays are generated, the area where electron beams are generated may be reduced. That is, in the case of a coiled filament, the coil radius is reduced. However, since the number of electrons is proportional to the surface area, when the radius of the coil is reduced, the number of electrons decreases and the intensity of X-rays also decreases.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of this problem, and an object of the present invention is to provide an X-ray tube that can irradiate a minute region of a sample with X-rays and does not reduce the intensity of X-rays.
The present invention employs the following configuration in order to solve the above problems. That is, the X-ray tube that emits primary X-rays according to the present invention includes a target that collides with a filament that generates thermoelectrons, a focusing electrode that has a recess that accelerates the thermoelectrons, and an electron beam that includes accelerated thermoelectrons. A hole provided in the housing in order to radiate primary X-rays generated by the target to the outside of the housing. And an X-ray emission window covering the filament, and the filament has a plate-like shape and is fixed so as to be disposed inside the concave portion of the focusing electrode, the target surface, the emission surface of the focusing electrode, And the plane of the filament is oriented so as to be directed to the X-ray emission window.
The X-ray fluorescence analyzer of the present invention uses the X-ray tube that irradiates a sample with primary X-rays, detects characteristic X-rays and scattered X-rays emitted from the sample, and detects the characteristic X-rays and scattered X-rays. An X-ray detector that outputs a signal including energy information of the line, an X-ray analyzer that analyzes the signal to determine an X-ray intensity corresponding to a specific element, and information that displays an image according to the X-ray intensity And a processing unit.
In order to solve the above problems, the X-ray tube of the present invention has the following characteristics in the shape of the filament, how to attach the filament to the cathode, and the shape of the cathode. The filament has an annular shape in which the cross section of the surface facing the anode is flat or recessed. The cathode is arranged rotationally symmetrical in the major axis direction of the anode, and a groove for attaching a filament is dug in the cathode. The filament is embedded in this groove.
In addition, the thickness of the filament should be reduced in order to improve the efficiency of thermoelectrons emitted from the filament. The surface of the filament opposite to the cathode opening may take any shape.
In addition, when the filament is not circular but has an arc of a certain length, an electrode having the same shape as the filament is attached to the portion other than the filament in the filament attachment groove.
The present invention has the following effects.
That is, the thermoelectrons generated in the filament receive a focusing action from the focusing electrode and can focus the electron beam once before reaching the anode, so that the electron beam intensity is maintained and the electron beam on the anode is maintained. The irradiation area can be reduced. As a result, X-rays are generated in a small area on the target, so that it is possible to irradiate a minute area of the sample with X-rays.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of an X-ray tube according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In each drawing used in the following description, the scale is appropriately changed as necessary to make each member a recognizable size.
As shown in FIG. 1, the X-ray tube 1 of the present embodiment includes a

FIG. 2 shows a simulation diagram of the equipotential surface near the filament and the trajectory of the electron beam.
The thermoelectrons A in the vicinity of the
The cross-sectional area of the electron beam at the convergence plane C can be considered as the virtual cross-sectional area of the filament. Therefore, if the cross-sectional area of the filament in FIG. 2 is the same cross-sectional area as that of the filament used in the conventional X-ray tube, the electron beam irradiation area is reduced while maintaining the X-ray intensity. On the contrary, if the electron irradiation area is the same as the conventional area, the X-ray intensity becomes stronger than the conventional one.
By optimizing the position of the filament and the shape and position of the cathode anode and vacuum lid so that the beam can be focused on the target, the electron beam irradiation area on the target can be reduced.
