Description

The present invention relates to a suspension system for an automobile provided with a lateral rod for holding an axle housing at a predetermined position in the width direction of a vehicle body.

Conventionally, there is an automobile suspension device disclosed in Patent Document 1 below. According to this publication, the suspension device extends in the width direction of the vehicle body in a lower region of the lower member of the vehicle body, and is elastically connected to the lower member so as to be movable up and down. The front and rear support pieces are attached to the lower member and face each other in the front-rear direction, and extend in the width direction of the vehicle body. One end portion of the longitudinal direction is disposed between the front and rear support pieces, and in the front-rear direction. A lateral rod pivotally supported by the front and rear support pieces and pivotally supported by the axle housing is provided so as to be rotatable around an extending axis. Left and right wheels are rotatably supported at each end of the axle housing, and the wheels are linked to the engine via an axle accommodated in the axle housing.

When an impact force is applied from the road surface to each of the wheels during traveling of the automobile, the axle housing repeatedly moves up and down together with the wheels, and the impact force is alleviated by a shock absorber that expands and contracts accordingly. Further, as described above, when the axle housing repeatedly moves up and down, the lateral rod repeatedly rotates up and down around the shaft center in conjunction with this. The lateral rod holds the axle housing at a predetermined position in the width direction of the vehicle body while repeating the vertical rotation as described above.
JP-A-5-319049

By the way, when the lateral rod pivots up and down around the axis as described above, the distance between the two support pieces is determined so that the front and rear support pieces do not come into contact with one end of the lateral rod. Yes.

On the other hand, the lateral rod is required to prevent the lateral rod from resonating with the engine or the differential device by improving the NV (noise, vibration) performance. Therefore, it is conceivable to increase the radial dimension of the lateral rod by improving the strength and rigidity of the lateral rod and increasing its natural frequency. However, if this is simply done, in order to avoid contact with one end of the lateral rod, it is necessary to increase the distance between the two support pieces. This is to make the vehicle body components as compact as possible. This is not desirable for automobiles that require high speed.

The present invention was made paying attention to the above situation, and the object of the present invention is to arrange one end portion of the lateral rod between the front and rear support pieces before being attached to the lower member of the vehicle body, In the case where the one end is pivotally supported by the two support pieces, the NV performance of the lateral rod can be improved while keeping the distance between the two support pieces small. .

The invention of claim 1 includes an axle housing 8 that extends in the width direction of the vehicle body 2 in a lower region of the lower member 3 of the vehicle body 2 and is elastically connected to the lower member 3 so as to be movable up and down. The front and rear support pieces 28 and 29 are attached to the member 3 and face each other in the front-rear direction, and extend in the width direction of the vehicle body 2, and one end portion 42 in the longitudinal direction is between the front and rear support pieces 28 and 29. Lateral and pivotally supported by the front and rear support pieces 28 and 29 and the other end 44 is pivotally supported by the axle housing 8 so as to be able to rotate A about the axial center 35 extending in the front-rear direction. In the automobile suspension system comprising the rod 33,
The suspension of the automobile is characterized in that an outer shape of a cross section of the lateral rod 33 on the one end portion side is an ellipse that is long in the vertical direction.

In addition, in this section, the reference numerals and drawing numbers appended to the above terms are not intended to limit the technical scope of the present invention to the “Example” section and the contents of the drawings described later.

The effects of the present invention are as follows.

The invention of claim 1 is attached to the lower housing and an axle housing that extends in the width direction of the vehicle body in a lower region of the lower body member and is elastically connected to the lower member so that it can be raised and lowered. Before and after facing each other in the front-rear direction, the rear support piece extends in the width direction of the vehicle body, and one end portion in the longitudinal direction is disposed between the front and rear support pieces and rotates around an axis extending in the front-rear direction. In a vehicle suspension system comprising a lateral rod pivotally supported by the front and rear support pieces so as to be movable and the other end pivotally supported by the axle housing,
The external shape of the cross section on the one end side of the lateral rod is an oval shape that is long in the vertical direction.

For this reason, even when NV performance is improved by increasing the cross-sectional area on one end side of the lateral rod and improving its strength and rigidity, the longitudinal direction of one end portion of the lateral rod is improved. The thickness dimension can be kept small.

Therefore, in the suspension device in which one end portion of the lateral rod is disposed between the front and rear support pieces attached to the lower member of the vehicle body, and the one end portion is pivotally supported by the both support pieces, as described above. By suppressing the thickness dimension of the one end portion of the lateral rod while keeping it small, the separation dimension of the both support pieces can be suppressed small. That is, the NV performance of the lateral rod can be improved while keeping the distance between the two support pieces small.

With regard to the automobile suspension system according to the present invention, one end portion of the lateral rod is disposed between the front and rear support pieces attached to the lower member of the vehicle body, and the one end portion is pivotally supported by the both support pieces. In this case, the best mode for carrying out the present invention is to realize the object of improving the NV performance of the lateral rod while keeping the distance between the support pieces small. Is as follows.

That is, an automobile suspension device is attached to the lower member and an axle housing that extends in the width direction of the vehicle body in a lower region of the lower member of the vehicle body and is elastically connected to the lower member so as to be movable up and down. Before and after facing each other in the front-rear direction, and extending in the width direction of the vehicle body, one end portion in the longitudinal direction thereof is disposed between the front and rear support pieces, and around an axis extending in the front-rear direction A lateral rod pivotally supported by the front and rear support pieces and pivotally supported by the axle housing is provided. The external shape of the cross section on the one end side of the lateral rod is an oval shape that is long in the vertical direction.

A bracket 18 protruding downward from one end (left end) 17 in the longitudinal direction of the cross member 5 is provided. The bracket 18 is made of sheet metal, and the front support member 19 and the front support member 19 and the front support member 19 and the left support member 19 and 20 in the width direction of the vehicle body 2 are joined to each other in the width direction. Right coupling pieces 21 and 21 are provided. Each section in the longitudinal direction at the upper part of the bracket 18 has a closed section structure, and each section in the longitudinal direction at the projecting end 24 of the bracket 18 faces the other end (right end) 22 side of the cross member 5. It has a U-shape that opens.

Further, in the lower region of the cross member 5, it extends in the width direction of the vehicle body 2, one end (left end) 25 thereof is coupled to the projecting end 24 of the bracket 18, and the other end (right end) 26 is A stay 27 coupled to the other end 22 side of the cross member 5 is provided. The stay 27 is made of sheet metal, and includes front and rear support pieces 28 and 29 before and facing each other in the front-rear direction, and a coupling piece 30 that integrally couples upper end edges of the support pieces 28 and 29. Each cross section of the stay 27 in the longitudinal direction has an inverted U shape that opens downward.

One end portion 25 of the stay 27 is closely fitted to the protruding end portion 24 of the bracket 18 and coupled to each other. In this case, the front and rear support pieces 19 and 20 in front of the protruding end portion 24 of the bracket 18 and the front and rear support pieces 28 and 29 in front of the one end portion 25 of the stay 27 are joined together to reinforce each other. It has a two-layer structure. The other end portion 26 of the stay 27 is coupled to the other end portion 22 side with the rear support pieces 28 and 29 sandwiching the other end portion 22 side of the cross member 5 from the front and rear. .

Further, in the region below the cross member 5 and in the region near the rear of the axle housing 8, it extends linearly in the width direction of the vehicle body 2 and holds the axle housing 8 at a predetermined position in the width direction of the vehicle body 2. Lateral rod 33 is provided. The front support pieces 19 and 28 and the rear support pieces 20 and 29 at the joint portion between the projecting end portion 24 of the bracket 18 and the one end portion 25 of the stay 27 are pivotally supported with an axis 35 extending in the front-rear direction. A shaft 36 is installed. On the rear surface of the end of the axle housing 8 on the other end 22 side of the cross member 5 in the width direction of the vehicle body 2, another pivot shaft 40 with another shaft center 39 extending in the front-rear direction is projected. Yes.

One end portion (left end portion) 42 in the longitudinal direction of the lateral rod 33 is disposed at the center portion in the front-rear direction between the front support pieces 19 and 28 and the rear support pieces 20 and 29, and the shaft It is pivotally supported by the pivot shaft 36 via a ring bush 43 so that it can be pivoted up and down around the core 35. Further, the other end portion (right end portion) 44 of the lateral rod 33 is pivotally supported by the other pivot shaft 40 via the ring bush 45 so that it can be pivoted up and down around the other shaft center 39. ing.

One end portion 42 and the other end portion 44 of the lateral rod 33 are each formed by a metal ring 47. Further, a midway portion in the longitudinal direction of the lateral rod 33 is formed by a metal pipe material 48. And the outer peripheral surface of each said ring 47 and each edge part of the said pipe material 48 are firmly couple | bonded by the all-around welding W, The inside of this pipe material 48 is made into the sealing state, and the rusting by water entering is carried out. It is prevented.

In particular, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the outer shape of the cross section on the one end 42 side of the lateral rod 33 is formed to be a long oval shape in the vertical direction. This oval shape is a concept including an elliptical shape whose longitudinal axis is vertically oriented and a rectangular shape whose longitudinal side is vertically oriented, and the end 42 side of the lateral rod 33 may be a solid bar. Good. Further, in this case, when the lateral rod 33 rotates A around the axis 35 of the pivotal support shaft 36 (dotted line in FIGS. 1 and 3), it enters the inside of the stay 27 on the one end 25 side. Only a portion of the lateral rod 33 on the one end portion 42 side that has a possibility has an elliptical cross section. On the other hand, the outer shape of the cross section on the other end 44 side of the lateral rod 33 is circular.

According to the said structure, the external shape of the cross section in the one end part 42 side of the lateral rod 33 is made into the ellipse shape long vertically.

For this reason, even when the NV performance is improved by increasing the cross-sectional area of the lateral rod 33 on the one end 42 side and improving the strength and rigidity thereof, the one end 42 of the lateral rod 33 is improved. The thickness dimension in the front-rear direction can be kept small.

Therefore, one end portion 42 of the lateral rod 33 is disposed between the front and rear support pieces 28 and 29 attached to the lower member 3 of the vehicle body 2, and the one end portion 42 is pivotally supported by the both support pieces 28 and 29. In the suspension apparatus 14 configured as described above, as described above, by suppressing the thickness dimension of the one end portion 42 of the lateral rod 33 while being small, the separation dimension L of the both support pieces 28 and 29 can be suppressed small. That is, the NV performance of the lateral rod 33 can be improved while the separation dimension L between the support pieces 28 and 29 is kept small.

Further, as described above, the cross section of the lateral rod 33 on the side of the one end portion 42 is basically formed in a vertically long shape. For this reason, the longitudinal direction of the cross section of the lateral rod 33 coincides with the rotation A direction of the lateral rod 33 around the axis 35. Therefore, the stress in the lateral rod 33 during the rotation A of the lateral rod 33 is suppressed to a smaller longitudinal stress, which is beneficial for the lateral rod 33 in terms of strength.
