Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a coating film inspection method and inspection apparatus, and more particularly to in-line coating for inspecting the state of a coating film during coating on a transparent or translucent substrate having transparency. The present invention relates to a construction inspection method and a coating inspection apparatus.
The inspection of defective application in the conventional printing or coating field is mainly performed after application and after a drying process. However, since the coating film thickness has become extremely thin in recent years, it is difficult to detect defective coating parts such as coating unevenness and coating defects after the drying process, and it is difficult to detect defective products. There is a problem that is not performed effectively.
In particular, when the substrate is transparent or translucent and the coating agent is also transparent or nearly transparent, it is more difficult to find defects in the coated film. .
Furthermore, in recent years, the coating speed has become extremely high, and there is a problem that the loss generation amount of materials such as a base material and a coating liquid becomes enormous due to delay in finding an abnormality in the coating state. In particular, in the processing of highly functional films, the base material and the coating liquid are often expensive, and in the case of multilayer coating, the delay in finding the abnormality in the coated part is fatal.
As a means for solving the above-mentioned problems, the coating film inspection method disclosed in
According to this coating film inspection method, it is possible to efficiently detect coating film defects in a transparent or white coating film that are difficult to detect by normal visual inspection. Since it is essential to include a brightening agent, it cannot be applied when the coating liquid contains a material that reacts with the fluorescent brightening agent. In addition, it is necessary to irradiate the coated surface with ultraviolet rays as a method for confirming poorly applied parts, so it is not applicable when using a sheet or coating liquid that reacts to ultraviolet rays, and there are significant restrictions on implementation. There's a problem.
The inspection apparatus disclosed in
According to this inspection apparatus, it is possible to always monitor the bead breakage that occurs during coating, and therefore it is possible to prevent the occurrence of defective products and the waste of the coating liquid when the bead breakage occurs. However, this inspection method can only be applied to a plate-type die coat where the gap between the coating head and the substrate is sufficiently wide, as seen in many die coats that continuously coat a continuous web substrate. Application is difficult when the gap between the substrate and the substrate is extremely narrow. In addition, in order to detect light by transmitting light through a narrow gap portion, the thickness of the substrate needs to be always constant, and it is difficult to apply to a film having a relatively large thickness variation. In addition, since this inspection device detects the bead breakage by the light transmitted through the bead itself, even if the bead thickness does not change, it cannot be properly detected. There's a problem
In view of the above problems, the present invention can be applied to a case where a coating liquid is thinly applied to a transparent or translucent substrate, and the coating amount and coating unevenness can be monitored. An in-line coating inspection method, a coating inspection apparatus, and a coating apparatus are provided.

The invention according to
The coating inspection method and the coating inspection apparatus according to the present invention have the following effects.
That is, the coating inspection method according to the present invention is an inspection method for a coating film applied to one surface of a light-transmitting substrate, and is formed between the substrate and the coating liquid supply means. Because it is a coating inspection method characterized by monitoring the bead that is a coating liquid reservoir from the side opposite to the coating liquid coating surface, always monitor the state of the bead during coating By this, it is possible to always grasp the state of the coated film. Therefore, according to the coating inspection method according to the present invention, it is difficult to detect defective coating portions such as coating unevenness and coating leakage after the drying process, even for products that are difficult to detect using an optical detection method. Application failure when applying paint or ink to a material can be detected in-line. In addition, it is possible to eliminate a loss due to a defect detection delay during high-speed coating or multilayer coating. Further, the inspection method of the present invention corresponds to a widely used coating method, and there are almost no restrictions on the base material and the coating liquid.
In the coating inspection method according to the present invention, when it is characterized in that the width dimension of the bead is monitored, the uniformity of the coating amount in the width direction of the base material is determined by a simple inspection content of evaluation of the width dimension of the bead. It is possible to know the change over time and the coating amount, which is useful as the most basic inspection method.
In addition, according to the coating inspection method characterized by monitoring the contour shape of the bead, in addition to the change in the coating amount, the uniformity of the coating amount in the substrate width direction and the local coating amount That is, it is possible to detect the shortage or excess of the stripe-like coating amount.
The inspection apparatus according to the present invention is an inspection apparatus for a coating film applied to one surface of a light-transmitting base material, and is formed between the base material and a coating liquid supply means. Since it is a coating inspection apparatus characterized by having an imaging means for monitoring a bead as a coating liquid reservoir from the side opposite to the coating liquid coating surface and an illumination means for illuminating the bead, In addition to the effects of the coating inspection method, further labor saving, labor saving, and automation of the coating inspection are possible, and the numerical value and precision of the coating inspection are also possible. In addition, it is possible to monitor in a narrow place that cannot be monitored by human eyes.
Further, according to the coating inspection apparatus characterized in that it has a data analysis means for calculating the width dimension of the bead from the image data obtained by the imaging means and comparing it with a reference value, compared with the visual judgment. Since it becomes possible to grasp a more accurate bead width dimension, a more precise coating inspection can be performed as compared with a visual coating inspection by a human.
Further, according to the coating inspection apparatus characterized by having a data analysis means for extracting the contour shape of the bead from the image data obtained by the imaging means and comparing the uniformity with a reference value, This eliminates the need for a person to constantly monitor the inspection contents that depend on the sense of the user, and enables labor-saving, labor-saving, or unmanned coating inspection.
If it is determined from the image data obtained by the imaging means that the bead width dimension or the bead outline shape deviates from the reference value, the plate rotation ratio and the coating liquid supply amount are adjusted. By using a coating apparatus that has a coating control means for controlling it to fall within the standard range, it is possible to avoid manufacturing a product that deviates from the quality standard, and to improve productivity.
If it is determined from the image data obtained by the imaging means that the bead width dimension or bead outline shape deviates from the reference value or the bead is cut, the coating is stopped. By using a coating apparatus having a coating stopping means, it is possible to avoid manufacturing a product that deviates from the quality standard.
When the illumination means is a coating inspection apparatus characterized in that it illuminates the bead from the side opposite to the coating liquid coating surface of the substrate, the imaging means and illumination Since the means exists on the same side of the substrate, the design of the imaging system is easy and a compact inspection apparatus can be realized.
Further, in the case where the illumination unit illuminates the bead from the coated surface side of the base material, the light irradiated from the illumination unit is observed by the imaging unit after passing through the base material, Even if the bead outline cannot be clearly recognized by the reflective optical system, the bead outline may be clearly captured.
In the case of a coating inspection apparatus characterized in that a plurality of the imaging means are arranged in the width direction of the base material, the observation range held by one imaging means may be narrowed, so that more precise Monitoring is possible.
Further, in the case of a coating inspection apparatus characterized by scanning the imaging system including the imaging unit and the illumination unit in the width direction of the base material, it is precise without providing a plurality of expensive imaging units. Monitoring is possible.
In the coating inspection method and the coating inspection apparatus according to the present invention, when the coating liquid is applied to the web or the substrate, the bead formed by the coating liquid is monitored in-line over the web or the substrate, and thus the above-mentioned problem To solve. As shown in FIG. 1, the bead is a liquid pool formed by the surface tension of the coating liquid between the
When the bead width during application is reduced, it indicates that the coating amount is decreasing. Conversely, when the bead width is increased, it indicates that the coating amount is increased. In addition, when the bead is cut, coating omission has occurred at that location. In this way, by monitoring the bead state, it is possible to inspect the application state in-line at the application part. This method can also detect thin film processing where it is difficult to detect defective coating after drying, or when the refractive index of the web and coating film are close, making it difficult to detect optical defects. It is.

When the bead width dimension W at normal time in the coating part is photographed by the image pickup means 8 and preset, and the bead width dimension W varies due to some factor during coating, it is compared with the preset value. Thus, it is possible to detect missing coating and fluctuations in the coating film thickness. At this time, the detected signal is input to the control panel of the coating machine. When the bead width dimension W is increased or decreased, the rotation ratio of the coating liquid supply means 2 is adjusted, or when the bead is cut, the coating is performed. A control program such as canceling work is also useful.
