Description

The present invention relates to an embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen, and more specifically, discharges air staying in a paraffin container to improve the adherence of paraffin to the bottom surface of a cassette body, and paraffin in which a specimen is included. The present invention relates to an embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen that can prevent paraffin from peeling off from a cassette when a microscope specimen is sliced.

Conventionally, as an embedding tray for preparing this type of histopathological specimen, the one shown in FIG. 15 has been frequently used. The embedding tray T includes a paraffin storage portion T1, a cassette support portion T2 for placing a horizontal cassette on the periphery thereof, and a cassette member for stopping the movement of the cassette standing on the periphery thereof. It consists of a stop wall T3 and a frame portion T4 provided horizontally around the periphery thereof, and further comprises a grip portion T5 provided horizontally in a substantially central portion of the frame portion T4 in the longitudinal direction.

Further, in recent years, it is composed of a paraffin storage portion formed of a rectangular container and a placement portion for a paraffin block adhering body provided at the periphery thereof, and at least two placement portions are provided, and two types having different sizes are provided. A tray for preparing a histopathological examination specimen that can handle the above cassettes is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).

In order to prepare a microscope specimen using the above-mentioned pathological examination specimen preparation tray, first, as shown in FIGS. 16 and 17, the specimen S collected in the cassette body C1 is accommodated and a lid C2 is attached. Data such as the subject name is recorded in the recording unit C3. Next, formalin is introduced from the bottom of the cassette body C1 and the through hole C4 formed in the lid C2 to fix the specimen S, and then the moisture of the specimen S is removed with alcohol, and the liquid paraffin described later with xylene is removed. Confer affinity.

Next, as shown in FIG. 18, the specimen S is transferred to the tray T and molten paraffin is poured into the paraffin container T1, and then the bottom of the cassette body C1 is placed on the cassette support T2 so that the cassette body C1 does not float. Hold it with your finger and add paraffin P from above. Next, after the paraffin P is cooled and solidified, the tray T is removed to obtain a paraffin block B in which the paraffin P in which the specimen S is embedded adheres to the bottom of the cassette body C1, as shown in FIG. . Thereafter, although not shown, the specimen S embedded in paraffin is sliced in a state where the cassette block B is fixed to the microtome so that the opening of the cassette body C1 faces downward, and a slice is obtained. The microscope specimen is obtained by performing the predetermined processing.

However, in the above method, because of the cassette locking wall T3 surrounding the periphery, the air contained in the molten paraffin or the air entrained during the injection of the molten paraffin tends to stay between the cassette body C1 and the embedding tray T. In some cases, the accumulated air is not sufficiently pushed out, and air bubbles A adhere to the bottom of the cassette body C1, and the air bubbles A hinder the adhesion between the cassette body C1 and the paraffin P, thereby reducing the adhesion force. When the adhesion between the cassette body C1 and the paraffin P decreases, the paraffin P peels off from the bottom of the cassette body C1 during the slicing of the specimen S, and the target slice cannot be obtained. It will have serious consequences of ruining.

As a result of intensive studies to solve the above problems, the present inventors have made it easy to remove the air staying in the paraffin container by providing a notch for venting the corner of the locking wall. It was found that the above problems could be solved at once, and the present invention was completed.

The present invention has been made in order to achieve the above object, and claim 1 of the present invention is provided on the upper outer side of a paraffin storage portion comprising a bottom portion and a side wall standing around the bottom portion. A cassette support part, and a three-sided locking wall and a one-side locking claw erected on the upper outer side of the supporting part, and gripped from the upper ends of the opposing locking walls among the locking walls. An embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen is characterized in that the portion extends outward and a notch for venting air is provided at the corner of the locking wall.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, the embedding tray for preparing a histopathological examination specimen according to the first aspect is characterized in that the notch is slit-shaped.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided an embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen according to the first aspect, characterized in that the notch has a V-cut shape whose upper side is wide and whose lower side is narrow.

According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided an embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen as set forth in any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the gripping portion has a frame shape.

According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, the embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen according to any one of the first to fourth aspects includes a gripping portion extending obliquely upward. And

The embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen according to the present invention is provided with a cutout portion for venting air at the corner of the locking wall, so that air staying in the paraffin housing portion can be easily removed. Air bubbles are less likely to adhere to the cassette, the adhesion between the cassette and the paraffin is improved, and troubles such as separation of the paraffin from the cassette during the slice of the specimen are prevented.

As the shape of the notch, a slit shape or a V-cut shape is preferable.

If the gripping portion is provided laterally from the upper end of the locking claw or the locking wall, the embedding tray can be easily handled and workability is improved. In this case, by making the gripping part into a frame shape having a hole inside, the gripping part hardly disturbs the discharge of air, and even if paraffin rises, it is easier than the hole in the frame. Is preferable. Furthermore, by extending the gripping portion diagonally upward, for example, when working on the desk top surface or hot plate surface, it is easy to grip because the distance from the desk top surface or the hot plate surface can be secured. There is less risk of touching and burning.

The embedding tray 1 of the present invention has a paraffin container 2 composed of a bottom 3 and a side wall 4 standing around it, as shown in FIGS. 2 is provided with a cassette support part 5 provided on the upper outer side of 2, a locking wall 7 on three sides standing on the upper outer side of the support part 5, and a locking claw 6 on one side, A grip portion 9 is extended outwardly from the upper end of the opposing locking wall 7 of 7, and a notch portion 8 for venting air is provided at a corner of the locking wall. .

The embedding tray 1 of the present invention is made of a heat-resistant material that can withstand molten paraffin. Examples of such a material include metals such as stainless steel, resins such as polyester, polyamide, polycarbonate, and polyacetal. In this respect, a metal is preferable.

In order to facilitate the demolding of the paraffin block B, the paraffin storage unit 2 is usually formed of a tapered container whose side wall 4 extends from the bottom 3 toward the opening.

A cassette support portion 5 for placing the cassette main body is provided on the upper outer side of the paraffin storage portion 2. The cassette support portion 5 is not particularly limited as long as the cassette body can be stably placed, but is usually provided around the paraffin storage portion 2 or in a corner portion.

On the upper outer side of the cassette support portion 5, there are provided a locking wall 7 and a locking claw 6 for fixing the cassette C on the embedding tray 1 and preventing its sliding (side slip). In the embedding tray 1, the locking wall 7 is erected on three sides, and the locking claw 6 is erected on one side. Therefore, for example, in the case of a cassette C having a sloped recording portion C3 as described in FIGS. 16 and 17, the cassette C is placed so that the recording portion C3 is on the locking claw 6 side and the paraffin block is placed. The recording portion C3 is not covered with paraffin, and visibility is not hindered.

The shape, size, and number of the locking claws 6 are not particularly limited. However, if the extra width is large, the cooled and solidified paraffin may rise to cover the recording portion C3, and if the extra width is small. Since the effect of preventing the cassette body C1 from sliding is reduced, the width is usually about 1 to 5 mm, preferably about 2 to 5 mm, and the total width of the locking claws is about 1/5 or less of the length of the side wall. It is preferably about 1/20 or less. If the total width of the locking claws 6 per side exceeds 1/5 of the length of the side wall 4, it will be difficult to push out air and discharge excess paraffin.

Locking walls 7 are erected on the three sides where the locking claws 6 are not provided. For this reason, the cassette C can be placed on the embedding tray 1 such that the side wall of the cassette C is pressed against the standing locking wall 7, so that the alignment of the cassette C is easy.

The height of the locking wall 7 is not particularly limited as long as the sliding of the cassette body placed on the cassette support 5 can be prevented. However, the height of the locking wall 7 is low (for example, 2 to 2) in order to reduce paraffin adhering to the outer wall surface of the cassette body. (About 4 mm) is preferable.

The locking wall 7 is the same as the locking claw 6 in that it has the function of suppressing the sliding of the cassette body C1 and stably placing it on the cassette support portion 5, but between the cassette body C1 and the embedding tray 1 is common. The difference is that the function of discharging stagnant air and excess paraffin is poor. For this reason, in the present invention in which the locking walls 7 are provided on the three sides, air tends to stay particularly at the corners of the locking walls, that is, the corners where the locking walls 7 are provided on the two adjacent sides. In this respect, in the present invention, since the notch 8 is provided at the corner of the locking wall, the air staying at the corner is discharged from the notch 8, so that the space between the bottom of the cassette body C1 and the paraffin is removed. Bubbles are also discharged smoothly.

The shape of the notch 8 is not particularly limited as long as the air staying in the embedding tray 1 can be suitably discharged, but a slit type or a V cut type can be exemplified.
When the shape of the notch 8 is a V-cut type with the upper side being wide and the lower side being narrow, the resistance becomes smaller toward the upper side, so that air is easily removed and air and bubbles are discharged smoothly.

Although the magnitude | size of the notch part 8 will not be specifically limited if it is the grade which can discharge | emit the air which retains in the embedding tray 1, Usually, width L1 is about 0.1-4 mm, Preferably it is about 0.1-2 mm, If the depth is set so that the lower end of the notch 8 is 0.1 to 2 mm above the cassette support 5, air and bubbles in the embedding tray 1 can be sufficiently discharged, and bubbles to the bottom of the cassette body C 1 can be discharged. It is preferable because it can suppress the adhesion of.

In order to make the embedding tray 1 of the present invention easy to handle, a grip portion 9 is provided from the upper end of the locking wall 7. It is preferable that the shape of the grip portion 9 is a frame shape with a hole on the inner side so that air can be pushed out from the inner hole and excess paraffin can be discharged.
The grip portion 9 may extend in the horizontal direction from the embedding tray 1 or may extend in an obliquely upward direction. When extending obliquely upward, for example, when working on a desk, the distance from the top surface of the desk can be increased so that it can be easily gripped. For example, even when the embedding tray 1 is used on a hot plate, the grip 9 and the hot plate Since the distance between them increases, the risk of burns due to the fingers touching the hot plate or the like when holding the embedding tray 1 is reduced. The diagonally upward grip 9 is particularly effective when the paraffin container 2 is shallow, for example.

By making the shape of the paraffin container 2 asymmetrical, the right and left of the slice sliced with the microtome are clearly distinguished, so that workability is improved and troubles such as mistaking the specimen due to misidentification of the left and right are prevented. , Improve the reliability of inspection.
The method of making the left-right asymmetric is not particularly limited, but for example, a method of changing (enlarging) the radius of one of the corners of the paraffin container 2 or cutting it into a triangular shape, A method such as arc shape can be adopted.

The cassette used with the embedding tray 1 of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as it is a cassette having a through hole in the bottom surface of the cassette body, but includes a sloped recording portion C3 as shown in FIGS. This is particularly effective for cassettes.

Further, the embedding tray 1 of the present invention can be used in the general method illustrated in FIGS. 18 and 19. However, in order to enhance the fluidity of the molten paraffin and to easily discharge the air, the embedding tray 1 is used in advance. It is preferable to warm 1 or to temporarily heat the embedding tray 1 to an appropriate temperature during or after paraffin injection.

Hereinafter, examples of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. However, it is needless to say that the present invention is not limited to the examples.

Further, the aspect ratio of the embedding tray 1 according to the present embodiment (excluding the grip portion 9) is about 1: 3.

As described above, the embedding tray for preparing a histopathological specimen according to the present invention is cooled solidified paraffin and the cassette body by discharging air staying between the cassette and the embedding tray when creating the paraffin block adhering body. Therefore, the trouble that the paraffin is peeled off from the cassette body when the specimen is sliced is prevented, and the workability for preparing the histopathological specimen and the reliability of the examination are greatly improved.
