Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a driving support device, a driving support method, and a computer program for guiding driving of a vehicle.
In recent years, with the spread of navigation systems, an increasing number of vehicles are equipped with a driving support system that displays a situation around the vehicle on a display device in a vehicle interior or warns the approach of an obstacle with a sound. According to such a system, it is possible to allow the driver to grasp obstacles that are difficult for the driving driver to grasp, such as obstacles approaching from the blind spot direction of the driver, and to drive safely.
Further, by using such a driving support system, it has been performed to guide other vehicles entering the intersection, particularly when the vehicle passes the intersection. That is, at the intersection, the vehicle enters the intersection from a plurality of directions. Therefore, the driver must visually observe all directions that other vehicles may enter when passing through the intersection and pay attention to the other vehicles. There was a case. In addition, since a blind spot is often formed at the intersection, the driver may not be aware of the entry of the other vehicle when another vehicle enters from the blind spot direction. Therefore, by guiding other vehicles around the host vehicle when passing through the intersection, it is possible to allow the driver to grasp the approach of the other vehicle and to avoid contact with the other vehicle.
And in the driving assistance apparatus described in
Here, depending on the way of passing the intersection, there are other vehicles that do not have a possibility of coming into contact with the host vehicle even when entering the intersection at the same timing. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, when the host vehicle turns right and passes through an intersection, and another vehicle entering the intersection from the left direction of the host vehicle turns left and passes, There is no risk of contact with the vehicle. However, in the driving assistance apparatus described in
In a situation where both the host vehicle and the other vehicle pass through the intersection, (a) when the other vehicle enters the intersection earlier than the host vehicle, (b) when the host vehicle and the other vehicle enter the intersection at the same time, ( c) The other vehicle may enter the intersection before the own vehicle, and in each case, the driver should be careful about different contents. However, in the driving assistance apparatus described in
Therefore, when the vehicle passes through the intersection, the guidance of the other vehicle is not always performed with the same content as in the driving support device described in
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-described conventional problems. When the own vehicle passes an intersection, the other vehicle takes into consideration the passage form of the intersection between the own vehicle and the other vehicle and the timing of approach.

If it is determined that there is another vehicle approaching the intersection within a predetermined distance (S5: YES), the process proceeds to S6. On the other hand, when it is determined that there is no other vehicle approaching the intersection within a predetermined distance (S5: NO), the driving support processing program is terminated.

Below, the acquisition method of the passing form of the intersection of the other vehicle in said S6 is first demonstrated in detail. The passing form of the intersection of the other vehicle is acquired by one of the following methods (1) or (2).
(1) A guide route set in a navigation device provided in another vehicle is acquired by inter-vehicle communication. Then, it is assumed that the other vehicle travels according to the guidance route, and the passing form of the intersection is specified.
(2) The current position, direction, and blinker lamp lighting status of other vehicles are acquired by inter-vehicle communication. Then, the approach direction to the road or intersection where the other vehicle is currently traveling is specified from the current position and direction of the other vehicle. Further, it is specified from the lighting state of the blinker lamp whether the other vehicle passes through the intersection in a straight line, right turn, or left turn. Furthermore, the passage form of the intersection is more specifically specified by using the lane information of the road connected to the intersection.
Further, the passing pattern of the other vehicle acquired in S6 is changed to the passing pattern of the other vehicle at the intersection viewed from the own vehicle based on the own vehicle position and the map information.

(1) The current position, direction, and vehicle speed of another vehicle are acquired by inter-vehicle communication.
(2) Next, the distance from the current position of the other vehicle to the intersection is calculated based on the current position of the other vehicle and the map information.
(3) The time required to enter the intersection is calculated based on the vehicle speed of the other vehicle and the distance from the current position of the other vehicle to the intersection.
In addition, said S6 is corresponded to the process of an other vehicle passage form acquisition means and an other vehicle approach timing acquisition means.

Here, the case where it is determined in S7 that there is a possibility of contact between the host vehicle and the other vehicle and the case where it is determined that there is no possibility of contact between the host vehicle and the other vehicle will be described with specific examples. FIG. 6 shows an example of a sound image localization pattern selection table. FIG. 6 shows a sound image localization pattern selection table used when the host vehicle turns right and passes through an intersection.

On the other hand, FIG. 8 shows an example when it is determined that there is a possibility of contact between the host vehicle and another vehicle. In the example shown in FIG. 8, as in FIG. 7, the
If it is determined as a result of the determination in S7 that there is a risk of contact between the host vehicle and another vehicle (S7: YES), the process proceeds to S8. On the other hand, as a result of the determination in S7, when it is determined that there is no possibility of contact between the host vehicle and the other vehicle (S7: NO), the driving support processing program is terminated without performing guidance for the other vehicle. . Note that S7 corresponds to the processing of the contact determination means.
In S8, the
Hereinafter, the process of S8 will be described with a specific example.
As shown in FIG. 6, the sound image localization pattern selection table includes the intersection form of the own vehicle, the passage form of the intersection of the other vehicle viewed from the own vehicle, the timing of entering the intersection of the own vehicle, and the intersection of the other vehicle. And a sound image localization pattern corresponding to a combination of these conditions.
For example, the passing form of the intersection of the own vehicle is “turn right and pass the intersection”, and the passing form of the intersection of the other vehicle is “entering from the left direction of the own vehicle and going straight through the intersection and passing through the intersection” ”Leaving to the right of the vehicle”, when “the other vehicle enters the intersection at a faster timing than the host vehicle”, the sound image is first localized in the “left direction” of the driver's
In addition, the passing form of the intersection of the own vehicle is “turn right and pass the intersection”, and the passing form of the intersection of the other vehicle is “entering from the left direction of the own vehicle and going straight through the intersection and passing through the intersection” ”Leaving to the right”, and when “the other vehicle and the vehicle enter the intersection at the same timing”, the sound image is first localized in the “left direction” of the
In addition, the passing form of the intersection of the own vehicle is “turn right and pass the intersection”, and the passing form of the intersection of the other vehicle is “entering from the left direction of the own vehicle and going straight through the intersection and passing through the intersection” If the vehicle goes into the intersection at a faster timing than other vehicles, a pattern for localizing the sound image in the “left direction” of the driver's
Similarly for other conditions, a pattern for localizing the sound image is set for each combination of conditions as shown in FIG. The blank column is a combination of conditions determined in S7 that there is no possibility that the host vehicle and the other vehicle are in contact with each other.
Here, as shown in FIG. 6, the sound image localization pattern selection table is configured to satisfy the following conditions (A) to (C).

(B) When it is determined that the other vehicle enters the intersection at the same timing as the own vehicle, the sound image is localized in the direction indicating the position with respect to the own vehicle until the other vehicle enters the intersection, and then a plurality of directions At the same time, a pattern for localizing the sound image is selected.
(C) When it is determined that the own vehicle enters the intersection at a timing earlier than that of the other vehicle, a pattern for localizing the sound image in a direction indicating the position with respect to the own vehicle until the other vehicle enters the intersection is selected.
In addition, although explanation is omitted, a sound image localization pattern selection table used when the host vehicle passes through the intersection by turning left, and a sound image localization pattern selection table used when the host vehicle passes through the intersection by going straight Is also configured to satisfy the above conditions (A) to (C).

Further, in FIG. 14, the
In the situation shown in FIG. 14, “left direction” which is a pattern for localizing the sound image in the direction indicating the position with respect to the
As described above in detail, according to the
In addition, since guidance is provided only for other vehicles that have been determined to be in contact with the host vehicle, the driver's attention is not reduced by performing unnecessary guidance.
In addition, when the host vehicle passes through the intersection and another vehicle enters the intersection earlier than the host vehicle, the sound image is localized in the direction indicating the position of the other vehicle from the entrance to the exit of the intersection. Therefore, appropriate guidance according to the relative positional relationship between the host vehicle and the other vehicle can be performed. And it becomes possible to make a driver | operator grasp easily the position change with respect to the own vehicle of another vehicle beforehand.
Also, when the host vehicle passes through the intersection and the host vehicle and the other vehicle enter the intersection at the same timing, the sound image is localized in the direction indicating the position of the other vehicle until the approach of the intersection. Since the sound image is localized in a plurality of directions at the same time, appropriate guidance according to the relative positional relationship between the host vehicle and the other vehicle can be performed. And it becomes possible to make a driver | operator grasp easily the approach direction with respect to the own vehicle of the other vehicle which approachs an intersection at the same timing as the own vehicle beforehand.
Note that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various improvements and modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
For example, in this embodiment, it is supposed to acquire the passage form of the intersection of other vehicles and the timing of approach of the intersection by inter-vehicle communication, for example, by imaging the surrounding environment of the own vehicle with a camera installed in the vehicle, It is good also as acquiring the passage form of the intersection of other vehicles, and the timing of the approach of an intersection based on the imaged captured image.
Further, the number of speakers installed in the vehicle is not limited to four, and the present invention can be applied to two or more speakers. Moreover, you may make it produce | generate a virtual sound source by controlling the output of a some speaker. Accordingly, it is possible to localize the guidance voice in an arbitrary direction without being limited by the arrangement of the speakers.
In the present embodiment, the passing pattern of the other vehicle is guided according to the direction in which the warning sound is localized, but a guidance voice that specifically guides the passing pattern of the other vehicle may be output.
For example, in the situation shown in FIG. 9, it is desirable to output a voice saying “Another vehicle passes from the left to the right before the vehicle enters the intersection”. In the situation shown in FIG. 10, it is desirable to output a voice saying “Another vehicle enters the intersection from the left when the own vehicle enters the intersection”. In the situation shown in FIG. 11, it is desirable to output a voice saying “Another vehicle enters the intersection from the left after the own vehicle enters the intersection”.
Further, the sound image localization pattern selection table shown in FIG. 6 may be provided for each road lane number or road width connected to the intersection. In this case, FIG. 6 shows a table used when the road connected to the intersection is one lane on one side.
