Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a bearing seal device.
Due to demands for smaller and lighter automobiles and further expansion of living space, the engine room space has been inevitably reduced, and electrical components and engine accessories have been further reduced in size and weight. Electromagnetic clutches and compressors for car air conditioners The idler pulley is no exception. However, a reduction in output is unavoidable due to downsizing, and an electromagnetic clutch compensates for the reduction in output by increasing the speed, and accordingly, the idler pulley is also increased in speed. Furthermore, since the engine room is being sealed due to a demand for improvement in quietness, and the high temperature in the engine room is promoted, these parts are also required to withstand high temperatures. In addition, since these parts are often attached to the lower part of the engine room, they are likely to be exposed to rain water, muddy water, etc. during traveling, and high sealing performance is required for the rolling bearings for these parts.
Roller bearings for idler pulleys are used in such a manner that the inner ring is on the non-rotating side and the outer ring on which the pulley is fixed is on the rotating side. In such a rolling bearing seal device, the outer peripheral edge of the radial direction is fitted to the inner peripheral side of the axial end of the outer ring so as not to be relatively rotatable, and the main seal lip made of rubber formed on the inner peripheral side of the radial direction And a sliding seal portion that is in sliding contact with the outer peripheral side of the axial end portion of the inner ring. In Patent Document 1, an inner ring side slinger (dust cover) fitted to a non-rotating inner ring is arranged oppositely on the outer side in the axial direction of such a sliding seal portion to suppress intrusion of dust or the like into the bearing. ing.
In recent years, the conditions of use of automobiles have become more severe, and there are cases in which further increase in the amount of water is expected, such as when splashed muddy water or car wash water is jetted at a strong pressure, and flooding seen in RV cars, etc. Considering use in a submerged state or a submerged state, the bearing seal device is required to have higher waterproofness. In Patent Document 2, a secondary seal lip (axial lip) that protrudes toward the inner ring-side slinger and contacts the inner surface of the slinger is formed on the outer surface in the axial direction of the sliding seal portion to further improve the sealing performance.
However, in the configuration of the above-mentioned Patent Document 2, the addition of the sub seal lip in addition to the main seal lip increases the frictional sliding portion between the inner and outer rings, which increases the bearing torque and hinders high-speed rotation performance. There are concerns. In particular, if the tightening margin of the auxiliary seal lip in the axial direction is increased in order to improve waterproofness, the sliding friction of the seal is further increased, and the problem of increased torque becomes significant. In addition, the sliding friction of the seal causes a problem that the frictional heat of the seal generated during high-speed rotation increases, resulting in significant wear and deterioration of the rubber seal. In order to prevent this, if the tightening margin in the axial direction of the secondary seal lip is reduced, the secondary seal lip can be sealed even when the travel speed (that is, the bearing rotational speed) is low when traveling while submerging in a river. Are easily damaged, and the water that fills the surroundings tends to rapidly penetrate into the bearing.
An object of the present invention is to provide a bearing seal device that can achieve both high sealing performance during low-speed rotation, low rotational torque during high-speed rotation, and seal durability.
The present invention is a bearing seal device used for a radial bearing used in inner ring non-rotation and outer ring rotation, in order to solve the above problems,
An inner ring-side slinger that is arranged in such a manner as to block the annular opening of the rolling element arrangement space formed between the inner and outer rings in the axial direction, and the radially inner peripheral edge fits in the axial direction end of the inner ring in a relatively non-rotatable manner;
The inner ring side slinger is placed facing the inner ring in the axial direction to form an axial seal gap. The outer peripheral edge of the radial direction is fitted to the axial end of the outer ring in a relatively non-rotatable manner, and the inner ring is positioned on the inner peripheral side of the radial direction. A main seal lip made of an elastic polymer material that is in sliding contact with the outer end of the axial direction is formed, and a radial surface is formed while crossing the axial seal gap from the axial base surface with the surface facing the inner ring side slinger as an axial base surface. A sliding seal portion formed with a secondary seal lip formed of an elastic polymer material that is formed so as to rise outward in the direction, and in which the lip tip portion is in sliding contact with the inner ring side slinger in the axial direction inner surface with a predetermined axial direction tightening margin. Prepared,
The inner ring side slinger is made of bimetal that deforms in the direction away from the lip tip in the axial direction due to frictional temperature rise due to sliding of the sub seal lip and reduces the axial allowance for the sub seal lip. It is characterized by becoming.
According to the above configuration, the inner ring-side slinger that is in sliding contact with the sub seal lip is made of a bimetal that is curved and deformed in a direction away from the lip tip in the axial direction due to a frictional temperature rise accompanying sliding of the sub seal lip. As a result, the amount of bending deformation of the inner ring side slinger increases as the frictional temperature rises, and the axial direction tightening margin of the sub seal lip decreases. As a result, even if the axial direction allowance of the secondary seal lip in the low temperature range is secured to some extent, if the temperature rises due to sliding friction during high speed rotation, the axial direction allowance is reduced due to the curved deformation of the inner ring side slinger, An increase in bearing torque can be prevented. Further, the increase in temperature due to sliding friction is suppressed by reducing the axial allowance, the wear and deterioration of the sub seal lip can be effectively suppressed, and the seal life can be improved. On the other hand, in a low-speed rotation state, the amount of bending deformation of the inner ring side slinger is small, and a large axial direction allowance can be secured, so that waterproofness can be improved. For example, even when driving while submerging in a river, the sealing performance of the sub seal lip Therefore, it is possible to effectively prevent problems such as rapid penetration of water filling the surroundings into the bearing.
When the inner ring side slinger reaches a predetermined warning temperature higher than room temperature, the inner ring side slinger can be bent and deformed to a position where the inner ring side slinger is separated from the lip tip portion of the sub seal lip and is in a non-sliding contact state. Here, the warning temperature refers to the upper limit of the appropriate temperature range that the inner ring side slinger preferably maintains when considering the durability of the secondary seal lip, and the secondary seal lip is made of a commercially available rubber material. The warning temperature can be appropriately determined within the range of, for example, 80 ° C. to 200 ° C. according to the material of the rubber. In the above configuration, the lip tip of the secondary seal lip is separated from the inner ring side slinger at the warning temperature and is in a non-sliding contact state, so that the sliding frictional heat of the secondary seal lip is at least in the temperature range above the warning temperature. This is advantageous in terms of ensuring the durability of the secondary seal lip and reducing the torque during high-speed rotation.
On the other hand, when the inner ring side slinger reaches the above-mentioned warning temperature, it can be configured to bend and deform to a position where it slides in contact with the lip tip portion of the sub seal lip in a state where the axial tightening margin is smaller than the value at room temperature. . In this configuration, the lip tip of the secondary seal lip is always in sliding contact with the inner ring side slinger in the temperature range up to the warning temperature, but the axial seal tightening margin of the secondary seal lip at the warning temperature due to the curved deformation of the inner ring side slinger. However, the frictional heat of the sub-seal lip in the temperature range above the warning temperature is reduced, although it is not as high as the above-mentioned configuration in which the lip tip is in a non-sliding contact state at the warning temperature. Therefore, it contributes to ensuring the durability of the secondary seal lip and lowering the torque during high-speed rotation. In addition, even during high-speed rotation, the secondary seal lip maintains good sliding performance because it maintains the sliding contact state with the inner ring side slinger while reducing the axial allowance.
The elastic polymer material forming the sub-seal lip is desirably an acrylic rubber from the viewpoint of excellent grease resistance, heat resistance, and weather resistance. When acrylic rubber is used as the material for the secondary seal lip, it is desirable to set the warning temperature in the range of, for example, 100 ° C. to 130 ° C., and tighten the secondary seal lip in the axial direction so as not to exceed the warning temperature. In other words, it is desirable that the sliding friction is controlled by the curved deformation of the inner ring side slinger. On the other hand, if the ultimate temperature of the inner ring side slinger can be further reduced by controlling the tightening margin (and hence sliding friction) of the secondary seal lip, a less expensive nitrile rubber can be used as an elastic polymer material to form the secondary seal lip. It is also possible to adopt.
Next, the secondary seal lip is formed so as to rise obliquely outward in the radial direction while traversing the axial seal gap from the axial base surface, and a sliding contact edge is formed at the lip tip, omitting the inner ring side slinger. In the virtual non-deformed state, the sliding contact edge can be configured to be located outside by a certain distance in the axial direction from the inner surface position of the inner ring side slinger. In this case, the tip end of the lip with respect to the inner surface of the inner ring side slinger is elastically bent and deformed while forming an annular belt-like sliding contact surface on the radially inner peripheral surface with the sliding contact edge as a contact start side. It can be made to contact. As the axial direction tightening margin is reduced due to the bending deformation of the inner ring side slinger, the radial width of the ring-shaped sliding contact surface formed between the lip tip and the inner ring side slinger is directed toward the sliding contact edge. To reduce.
According to the above configuration, the secondary seal lip that is in sliding contact with the inner ring side slinger has a sliding contact edge at the lip tip. When the inner ring side slinger is omitted and is virtually undeformed, the sliding contact edge is positioned outside by a certain distance in the axial direction from the inner surface position of the inner ring side slinger. When considered in the non-deformed state, the axial extension amount of the sliding contact edge from the inner ring side slinger inner surface corresponds to the axial tightening allowance of the sub seal lip. By forming such an allowance, the lip tip of the secondary seal lip is in the radial direction with the sliding contact edge (not the tip) as the contact start side with respect to the inner surface of the inner ring side slinger. Abutting in an elastic bending deformation while forming an annular belt-like sliding contact surface on the inner peripheral surface.
In this state, when the inner ring side slinger is bent and deformed, the amount of axial extension of the sliding contact edge from the inner ring side slinger inner surface, that is, the axial direction tightening allowance, as the bending deformation increases, Get smaller. Along with this, the ring-shaped slidable contact surface formed on the inner ring side slinger by the lip tip portion decreases in radial direction toward the slidable edge as the bending deformation increases, that is, as the temperature of the inner ring side slinger increases. Will be. The sliding surface of the secondary seal lip is formed in an annular belt shape, and the sliding contact surface is more effective as the temperature of the inner ring side slinger increases (that is, the bearing rotational speed increases) and the width of the sliding surface decreases in the radial direction. This is more effective in preventing wear of the secondary seal lip and preventing increase in bearing torque during high speed rotation. In addition, it does not hit the surface from the tip side in the normal direction of the slinger inner surface, but forms an annular belt-like sliding contact surface while elastically deforming so as to hit the line from the sliding contact edge. However, even if it is somewhat reduced, the sealing performance is not easily impaired (in addition, it should be noted that the effect of preventing the entry of water or the like is enhanced by splashing off by centrifugal force). And when driving while submerging in the river, the width of the sliding contact surface is sufficiently large and the sealing performance of the secondary seal lip can be strengthened. Can be prevented.
The front end surface of the sub seal lip can be a flat surface. As a result, the secondary seal lip can sharpen the sliding contact edge formed at the intersection of the radially inner circumferential surface and the tip surface while maintaining an appropriate rigidity, and can enhance the effect of improving the sealing performance by line contact. it can. Further, the lip tip portion of the sub seal lip can be formed in an acute angle tapered shape in a cross section including the bearing rotation axis. By making the tip of the lip taper like this, the tip of the sub-seal lip can bend well and the adhesion to the inner ring side slinger can be improved.
Further, the entire sub seal lip can be formed in a wedge shape that continuously reduces the lip thickness from the rising base end side to the sliding contact side tip in the cross section including the bearing rotation axis. . As a result, the lip thickness at the base end of the secondary seal lip can be secured above a certain level, the secondary seal lip can be prevented from reversing in the radial direction during assembly, and the tip of the lip is tapered. The above effects can be achieved at the same time.

The

In the present embodiment, the
Next, FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the
If the inner
The
Returning to FIG. 3, the lip
Next, the inner
Bimetal can be configured as a clad material obtained by bonding metal single plates constituting each layer by various known methods (for example, roll cladding method, diffusion bonding method, explosive pressure welding method, etc.), but manufactured by a method other than bonding. The laminated metal layer may also be called a bimetal in a broad sense. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, a
When the inner
When the sliding friction of the lip increases and the temperature of the inner
As shown in the
When the
