Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a transmission apparatus that encodes an information sequence and transmits a bit string obtained by executing puncturing to a communication partner that performs reception processing using maximum likelihood sequence estimation, and The present invention relates to a receiving apparatus as a communication partner and a communication system.
As an example of a conventional maximum likelihood sequence estimation technique, a maximum likelihood sequence estimation device using a Viterbi algorithm is described in
Here, with respect to a receiving apparatus (receiving-side communication apparatus) to which the maximum likelihood sequence estimating apparatus described in
In addition, since the decoding process is performed after inserting the dummy bits, there is a problem that the noise resistance performance of each transmission path estimation circuit deteriorates.
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and in a communication system that performs transmission / reception of signals whose coding rate has been changed by puncturing, the influence of puncturing is minimized, and performance degradation on the receiving side is reduced. An object of the present invention is to obtain a transmission apparatus that realizes suppressed transmission path estimation.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a receiving apparatus that estimates a transmission path while suppressing tracking characteristic deterioration due to characteristic fluctuations even when receiving a punctured signal.
In order to solve the above-described problems and achieve the object, the present invention provides a transmission apparatus included in a communication apparatus on a transmission side of a communication system that transmits and receives a signal generated using puncturing, and is based on an information sequence. Puncturing means for puncturing two consecutive bits straddling two code series, and a bit sequence obtained by the puncturing means executing puncturing with respect to a code sequence generated sequentially Modulation mapping means for performing mapping for the above.
According to the present invention, since the transmission apparatus punctures 2 bits straddling two code sequences, the transmission device can allocate and transmit to the same symbol remaining without puncturing of adjacent code sequences, and receive On the side, the process of exchanging the relationship between the in-phase and quadrature components becomes unnecessary. As a result, there is an effect that it is possible to realize demodulation that suppresses the deterioration of the follow-up performance with respect to fluctuations in the transmission path characteristics.
Hereinafter, embodiments of a receiving device, a transmitting device, and a communication device according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments.

Next, detailed operations of the transmission device and the reception device of the present embodiment will be described. Here, as an example, data when the modulation scheme is QPSK (phase modulation), and the
When data transmission is performed, in the transmission apparatus (see FIG. 1) constituting the transmission-side communication apparatus, first, the
When there is an input from the
A puncturing method according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 3A is a diagram illustrating an example of a puncturing rule when a final coding rate (desired coding rate) of a signal transmitted by the transmission device is R = 3/4. In FIG. 3A, “1” represents a bit for transmitting the output of the
FIG. 3-2 is a diagram illustrating a puncturing operation in accordance with the puncturing rule of FIG. 3-1. As illustrated in FIG. 3B, the
If the signal from the
As a result, on the receiving side of the signal mapped in the above procedure, it becomes possible to de-puncture without changing the relationship between the in-phase / quadrature components of each bit remaining (transmitted) without being punctured, Even when the received signal has a frequency deviation, it is possible to perform demodulation while suppressing deterioration of the tracking performance. Since the puncturing rule is used, the mapping process of the
The signal (symbol string) S n obtained by the above process is transmitted to the receiving apparatus, and reaches the receiving device (see FIG. 2) constituting the receiving communication device as the received signal R n, the receiving device, A process of reproducing the original information sequence (information sequence transmitted by the transmission device) from the received signal R n is executed.
In the receiving apparatus that has received the R n, first
When there is an input from the
In this example, signals (Rp n , Rq n ) generated by the
When there is an input from the
Here, the configuration and operation of maximum likelihood
The algorithm of maximum likelihood
The following equation (1) represents the path metric at the time n of the surviving path selected by the Viterbi
H n [x n / x n-1 ] in the above equation (1) indicates a path metric, which is updated by the following equation (2).
In the above equation (2), Γ n [x n / x n-1 ] represents a branch metric, which is updated by the following equation (3).
In the above equation (3), g n [x n-1 ] indicates a transmission path estimation value, and this transmission path estimation value is updated in each transmission path estimation unit using the LMS algorithm. The transmission path estimation value update process is expressed by the following equation (4). Each transmission path estimation unit (transmission path estimation unit 82-1 to 82-M) updates the transmission path estimation value of the corresponding state to obtain transmission path estimation values for all the states, and these are Viterbi algorithms. This is an input to the
なお、ステート数はMV(ただし、この例ではM=2,また、Vはビタビアルゴリズムのメモリ長)である。 Here, [ xn ] and [ xn / xn-1 ] are values determined by the state xn and the path transition xn / xn-1 , respectively, and xn / xSVn -1 is xn X n-1 : x SV n is a state at time (n−1) on the survival path transition to x n , and H n indicates a path metric at time n. The number of states is M V (in this example, M = 2, and V is the memory length of the Viterbi algorithm). Further, g is a transmission path estimation value, and J is a transmission sequence estimation value.
Further, the step size δ used in the update processing of the transmission channel estimation value of the above equation (4) is given by 0 <δ <1, but the
In the case of the received signal component including the dummy bit (“0”) inserted by the de-puncturing process, the dummy bit is not a significant signal component, and thus the signal-to-noise power ratio is poor. Therefore, in this embodiment, by setting the step size to be small, the noise resistance performance is improved as compared with the case where the same step size is always used.
In the above description, an example in which the final coding rate (desired coding rate) is R = 3/4 has been described, but the same applies to other coding rates. For example, when the desired coding rate is R = 5/6, the operation according to the puncturing rule illustrated in FIG. FIG. 6-2 is a diagram showing a puncturing operation when the puncturing rule of FIG. 6-1 is used, and shows how q 1 , p 2 , q 3 , and p 4 are thinned out by puncturing. ing. FIG. 6C is a diagram illustrating an example of a puncturing rule when the desired coding rate is R = 6/10, and a diagram illustrating a puncturing operation when this puncturing rule is used. FIG. 6-4.
As described above, in the transmission apparatus according to the present embodiment, when the puncturing unit performs puncturing, the two input signals {(p 1 , q 1 ),. p n-1, q n- 1), (p n, relative to q n), and to perform puncturing in consecutive order q n-1 → p n (FIG. 3-1, FIG. 3-2 reference). As a result, in the modulation mapping unit that maps the signal obtained by executing puncturing, for example, when performing QPSK symbol mapping, bits that remain without being punctured between adjacent code sequences (a code sequence is configured). Of the two bits, bits that have not been punctured) can be assigned to the in-phase component and the quadrature component and transmitted in one symbol. As a result, the receiving apparatus receiving the signal mapped by the procedure, q n-1 and p n it becomes possible to de-puncturing without replacing the relationship of the in-phase and quadrature components of the received signal frequency deviation Even in such a case, it is possible to realize demodulation that suppresses deterioration of the tracking performance.
Also, in the receiving apparatus according to the present embodiment, when performing transmission path estimation using a received signal component including bits inserted by de-puncturing, the step size of the LMS algorithm is set to a value smaller than usual. It was decided. Thereby, the noise resistance performance can be improved as compared with the case where the same step size is always used.
Embodiment 2. FIG.
Next, the second embodiment will be described. The configurations of the transmission device and the reception device of the present embodiment are the same as those of the transmission device and the reception device of the first embodiment described above. In the present embodiment, the setting method of step size δ (step size δ of LMS algorithm) used by maximum likelihood
As described above, in the receiving apparatus of this embodiment, when performing transmission path estimation using a received signal component including bits inserted by de-puncturing, the step size of the LMS algorithm is set to “0”. It was decided. Thereby, like the receiving apparatus of
As described above, the transmission device and the reception device according to the present invention are useful for a wireless communication system, and are particularly suitable for realizing communication in which performance deterioration due to use of puncturing is suppressed.
